  • In the waning hours of the afternoon, I ventured onto the beach promenade in Blanes, Spain, greeted by a mesmerizing display of nature's artistry. The sun's descent towards the horizon bathed the coastline in a golden luminescence, saturating the sky with hues of warmth. Along the Costa Brava's serene shores, where the sea met the land in gentle harmony, I discovered a sanctuary of tranquility. Thoughts of Andalusia's vibrant landscapes mingled with the scene, enriching the beauty that enveloped me. With each leisurely step, I relished the serene ambiance, allowing myself to be immersed in the simple yet profound pleasures of seaside life.

      @@Mangozoom Me too. Gutted that Can Tirol has closed down opposite Sa Palomera. Had some great pissy afternoons on the terrace there down the years.

      That's a bummer! Looks like we'll have to find a new terrace to continue our tradition of epic afternoons. Got any contenders for our new hangout?

      @@Mangozoom There’s been a few changes since the ‘Big Flu’.
      Yeah, sad to see it go although it was shut when I was there last September it’s since opened up again under a new name, so if you don’t mind getting shit-faced in front of one of the great views, then fill your boots!
      The Anchor has now closed - been bought by the local residents I believe - and will soon be turned into holiday flats.
      I’ve been ‘walking’ in Blanes since 1987 when Ricky’s Bar was the 'go to' night spot (only because mein host was a mate of mine from back home!
      Give The Secret of Sue a try.
      It’s in Carrer de San Jaume, off the fruit and veg market adjacent to the front.
      Roll on September #happydays

      Thanks for the update, Don Quixote! It's sad to see The Anchor go, but I'll definitely give the new place a try. The Secret of Sue sounds intriguing-I'll make sure to visit when I'm there. Looking forward to my July trip, mate.

    When is the carnival in Blanes?

      @Mangozoom  Месяц назад

      The Carnival in Blanes typically takes place in February, leading up to Ash Wednesday. The specific dates vary each year based on the timing of Lent, but the celebrations usually occur in the week or two before Lent begins. For exact dates, it’s best to check closer to the time or consult local resources, as the schedule can change annually.
