Hey Ursa, not sure how much of the game you've done, but there's a quick achievement you can go for called extending the olive branch, where olives are either received or given when making peace. Hope you keep it in mind when settling in the future.
It was a tough call for me, but it has been ages since I played Germany, so I chose Ludwig for my first game from the new pass. I decided for the yuks to make him Vampire Lord Von Ludwig though because Vampire Castles seemed like something he'd be down for. So far so good, based on your last game I got the Alternate Cartography mod and tried one of those maps, and I love it. It's the one with a big equatorial ocean and nice crinkly coastlines on the north and south, with small islands in the middle. It's actually a dream come true and I love it. This is what I always wanted Inland Sea maps to be like so I'm very pleased.
Meh-tuh-NOY-yuh would be the right pronunciation for her leader ability. It means to change your mind to make it new. Usually it's used in religious context, which is why it makes sense for Theodora!
About to watch. My prediction is a work ethic game of some sort. And the plan to snipe the great scientist that adds science to a holy site. Fingers crossed now let's watch
Playing this with the Knights of Solomon secret society mod would be hilarious. Holy site adjacency producing gold, faith, culture, and production? Sounds like a dream
That mod with old Byzantium was already really broken. I used it on my last Basil game and it was so much fun. Your apostles get ridiculously OP in the late game if you haven't already killed everyone by then.
I now that if you hear "culture victory" you imidiatelly go "void singers". But when I hear "adjacency" I go "hermetic order". And yes. It works. Greatly. +6-10 holycraps love my attention.
£324 - Theodora was a Byzantine empress through her marriage to emperor Justinian. She became empress upon Justinian's accession in 527 and was one of his chief advisers. Her father, Acacius, was a bear trainer of the University of Sankore's Green faction in Constantinople. Her mother, whose name is not recorded, was a dancer and an actress.
I've seen this a few times - there are two separate era scores you can get. If it's within 6 tiles you get +3, otherwise you get +2. Always worth still doing it.
The only time it is fun for barbarians to have men-at-arms this early is when playing with heroes and you just got the Twins out and now you can get your hands on men-at-arms this early yourself. Works even better, if raiding the camp spawns them instead of worse units. Steady supply of free troops for as long as the Twins survive. Wasn't as much fun for my former neighbours, though.
so. if you can get that one early scientist, your holy site provides faith, science, culture and production with work ethic . . what do you even need other districts for, if you have a good adjacency pantheon?
Why is she wearing white, and not Tyrian purple or something close? That is so weird and distracting. EDIT: Not that she still doesn't look Theo-dorable.
To really separate yourself from the pack, when it comes time to play Ludwig, could you play him under the modded Bavaria civ? It would make your play through truly unique among all the others and also highlight a very well done mod.
I can’t recall the AI EVER taking work ethic in all the games I’ve played. Now I’ve never played a 20 player map though. Most I’ve packed into a game is 12 with max religions at 6. I think the AI just doesn’t prioritize work ethic at all.
It was truly one of the moments of all time when Ursa said "It's Byzantium time" and proceeded to Byzantium all over the map.
To be fair, any moment is truly one of the moments of all time, cause that's how time works. But yes, Byzantium was Byzantiuming 😂
Is it bad that I unironically laughed rly hard at this?
@@balkanmonteroi think not (if yes then something is also wrong with me)
Nothing wrong with any of you

He completed that achievement already. I also did suggest that once before, nice to find another great mind 🙏
It is indeed an easy one!! You know I wasn;t sure I had it, just checked, I do! Must have got it a while back = )
@@ishanchegu yea it’s super easy lol, which always bugged me bc I ended up never getting despite having hundreds of hours lol. Kept forgetting 😅

That is probably my fav map script as well. It is amazing how much of a difference an actual good map can make, cheers mate
Amazing maps from that mod, totally agree!
44:44 consider my socks held.
It may be a bit early to call, but this looks like "Better Byzantium" to me. Maybe even "Busted Byzantium"?
Certainly a very very fun take on Byzantium - I loved it so much!

Also Hildegard for science and one of Gedemo's modded city-states that make holy sites give food equal to adjacency for the full monty
It went from such a chill beginning to boaty rampage so fast, and I love it.
Dromons are just so fun, I can;t not use them!
I am a simple man: I see Byzantium gameplay, I click Like
Simple life, Simple men.
I liked your question cameo in the Civ live stream. Really enjoy your content
Hehe, I managed to sneak in there!
looking forward to this, Theodora looks like a blast to play
Ditto - so much fun to see!
I think she is really funny with the knights of Solomon, bouns points if you can get the great scientist that make your holy site make science
Very good combo that!
Ursa: *explaining why he missed the release train*
Me: It's okay rocky. You play when you feel like it *in Patrick Star voice*
XD
Oh man I had so much fun in my most recent Theodora run, I genuinely like her more than Basil. I think you're gonna love her!
Crusading into a snowball. I'm here for it
Loving this game, and the comments section too. All the happy bears.
Very lovely to read = )
I'm so glad her ability is OP
Basil is stronger
Laughed a bit when you got the relic. Nice when you know that a game is going to go well
Always so much fun to see games like that = )
Congratulations on finally making it into Sankore University!
Henry the Tax Beast 😆💛
Hagia Sophia's choice: Istanbul or Constantinople 😂 oof I'm proud of that! 😂 Hope you get chinguetti too, cheers!
You deserve so many more views and subs!
One day hopefully! I'm very grateful for this awesome community though to be fair!

Very fun combo as well, not disagreeing!
Pronunciations:
Metanoia
Meta (like the Facebook rebrand) Noia (said Noy-ya).
Also, tithe: Tie-the
Teeth - teehee.
Still love the Tithe wooosh we still got, always makes me chuckle
Egypt dares be a minor inconvenience? DESTROY THEM IN RETALIATION
Tis the fairest way
I always look forward to your new leader videos. That way I know how they should be played!
Thanks for watching = )
This is going to be a fantastic series

What a family, I never knew
Liking this new flavour.
Err . .Ursa?
You KNOW that Camps only give Era score if they are within 6 hexes of your city center right?
I've seen this a few times - there are two separate era scores you can get. If it's within 6 tiles you get +3, otherwise you get +2. Always worth still doing it.
Disappointed there are not 4 "Romes" with this mirrored Europe ;)

Huzzah, early bears are here
with our bells on
Huzzah!!!
do knights of solomon and make your holy sites provide gold, culture and production
holy sites provide culture
monuments provide faith
perfectly balanced as all things should be
I said I want Byzantium, I stand by it
I was so excited for this!
METANOIA means “repentance” ..
Start of video: awesome a 6 science campus for the pingala capital! ... end of video: second city steals it >,>
Theodare I like and comment on this video? either way I Theodoya!
Time to quickly settle into Russia for those plains, for those sweet, sweet holy site farm adjacency yields!
Been playing CK2, this map makes my head hurt 😵💫
so. if you can get that one early scientist,
your holy site provides faith, science, culture and production with work ethic . .
what do you even need other districts for, if you have a good adjacency pantheon?
Metanoia is spelled "Metania" its greek and means "regret"
love the vids!!!
Theodora is so insane and Lud is nuts why did they make Sejong so bad
I had such high hopes for hom too😢
Can't be worse than perseus
It feels like all civ youtubers forgot that it also great scientist here in medieval era which provide science to all holy sites...
Oh no, we didn't forget - it's just that 20 player maps make scientists very tricky to snipe!
@@UrsaRyan Is that even possible to get early sientists? Or Ai stole them like wonders?
Early bears!
Huzzah!!
I HATE when another civ takes Eastern Orthodoxy before me if I'm playing as Byzantium :( That's enough for a restart, imo 😆
I have a pretty good game going with her on immortal not yet a deity player
Keep going, Deity is just one step away!
Constaninople? You mean Istanbul,right?
That's nobodies business but the Turks
Early bears
Huzzah!!
Ugh we need the damn leader pass on console already
Really hope that it appears eventually

the AI NEVER goes work ethic.
not even russia or brazil!
That's right. One of those things like: You always win the district culture bomb vote with only two votes. They never fixed that.
To really separate yourself from the pack, when it comes time to play Ludwig, could you play him under the modded Bavaria civ? It would make your play through truly unique among all the others and also highlight a very well done mod.
What's a Univeristy? (spelling mistake when referring to the head of the University of Sankore)

It doesn't often, but it does from time to time. Like you can sort of reliably guess you'll be fine but you can't be 100% certain
