    Interesting how certain Rogan is in all of the incorrect information he spews. Single events don't dictate the norm, but Joe throws them out as if the Mongols were just launching bodies at every siege, when in reality it may have happened once or twice out of the dozens of siege. That crushing royal beneath a large wooden plank was done once by Subutai & Jebe against the Rus princes which they defeated near the kalka river

      He was ruthless and waged war seemingly for war's sake. When the Mongol empire crumbled, it completely disappeared. No art, no government, no cultural message. Most Kingdom's who waged war had an identity, and a culture to spread. It seems that wasn't really present with the Mongols and perhaps that is what Joe is feeling.

    • @anonbattler
      @anonbattler 15 дней назад

      @@frogprince3491 The Mongols waged war for the same reason the Romans and Persians did - to gather land and resources while eliminating any and all threats to their territories. It was their version of market expansion and hostile takeovers in business today.
      And even though the Mongol empire dissolved as a single entity, the Mongols did make cultural contributions that are still seen today as they were pioneers in practicing globalisation, multiculturalism, religious tolerance, meritocracy, and of course military strategy. Joe's perspective is based on what most people think about the Mongols until they did deeper into their history.

    • @frogprince3491
      @frogprince3491 13 дней назад

      @@anonbattler The religious tolerance take is mentioned frequently but misunderstood. They didn't allow religious tolerance out of kindness, it was because they learned from others that a conquered people were less likely to revolt if you just let them keep their religious practices. Also, I don't believe that the Mongols were trying to spread their religious practices, whatever they may have been. Their religion did not appear to spread and survive.
      The countries to the west were no threat to them, Russia, Europe, and China wanted nothing to do with the Central Asian Steppe.
      It appears to be an "Empire" based solely on military conquest, plunder and brutalization. They showed up unprovoked, demanded submission and brutally murdered untold thousands of people. No doubt they sped up the military arms race with all they encountered. I just don't get why people believe that it was some noble cause or "tolerant."
      It was essentially a glorified raiding party that completely dissolved as quickly as it came.

Many archaeologists and historians now believe the tomb may be located on Burkhan Khaldun, a peak in the Khentii Mountains north of Ulaanbaatar where Genghis Khan hid from his enemies as a young man and pledged to return after he died, according to some sources. , unfortunately it’s located at a peak that falls under a protected wildlife conservation area that the Mongolian government does not permit anyone to enter for any reason, whether spiritual or scientific.
