Hi, Zinus is a good brand. Some people complain about fiberglass usage in the mattress but zinus suggest not to remove the layer on the mattress it comes with. Also new models from zinus does not have it but you need to confirm before ordering. We have two zinus mattresses and there are no issues
Never remove the cover since almost all foam mattresses have fiber glass as fire retardant

Hi, we got 8 inch one but it is medium firm. If it is 10 inch, it will be medium plush and soft. Check the zinus website.
