Great idea Sandy,,an extruder would be a must for this project, even a small circle cutter to cut out discs and to cut itttle triangles out of the disc,to make flower bead caps,to match the cones ,!! must try this one too, thankyou Sandy for sharing this video,👍👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Love them! I have used the cones in my cake decorating supplies, but in mine I was using wire to make wire cones! I love the colorful polymer clay ones! Thanks for sharing! Blessings!
Glow in the dark clay!! I use that as often as possible. :) Interesting idea. Thanks for sharing. Would be a great way to use my extruder since I don't use it nearly enough. :D - Heidi
Thanks for the comment, Angela! Yes, I thought of using and extruder, too. I have made more findings from clay videos, here are a couple: ruclips.net/video/I14sEquADBI/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/hG5NiF1kLOM/видео.html. Janet Pitzner If you bake them the right way and always cover them with a foil tent in the oven they'll be strong but if you put pressure to them ill a sure you they will break.....just play with them in different widths only you know what you need best 😊
Janet Pitzner If I was you just to be certain Ill make a few and use them myself just to help them a bit you can even try to varnish or even use resin.....oh my i better go and play to see what i come up with! Good luck! 😀
I would think these would be pretty strong, but the bigger the opening, the more easily they could be crushed. Be sure to bake your clay for at least an hour to make sure it's strong, then do some wear tests.
Thanks, Sandy.. I'll give it a try and do some wear tests.. I really like y the one that you smoothed down. I'll keep you posted on how they wear! Thanks again!! 😊👍
You could make a silicone mold of a cake decorating tip, then fill the mold with polymer clay & bake. Coat the clay cone with Repel Gel (amzn.to/2pEz2CD) and bake right on it!
Thank you I have not tried the jell yet I have been out of the polymer clay scene for awhile mostly stamping and scrapbooking but lately as I am recovering from Back surgery I have all my tools out and off I go there is so much more and I appreciate your videos!
I like how totally custom these can be. xx

Yes, if you were making a lot, an extruder would be helpful. Although in some cases I kind of prefer the wonky ones. ;-)

Thank you, Fran, so glad you found it helpful! :-)

I recently bought a pair of large sterling cones that cost me an arm and a leg. I’ll try this in the future.
There's definitely a place to sterling silver cones! Polymer clay is a different look. It's always nice to have options. :-)
great idea!!!!!
Thank you! 😎
cute and you can also use a clay extruder to make all off your lines even.btw have you made any other clay findings?

Of course you can always use an extruder to make symmetrical snakes too. :)
a tip : watch series on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Caleb Alfred yea, have been using Flixzone} for years myself :D
I just make the cones out of aluminum foil shaped on metal cake decorating tips. So I can bake them on the foil directly
Well, duh! Why didn't I think of cake decorating tips?! :-)
I call them "blond moments". I have plenty of them.
Well, another great idea!! I bet knitting needles would work, too! I'm pretty new to this polymer clay stuff, so, how strong are these?

Thanks.. just wondering if they would be strong enough for using in a bracelet or if they would break the first time you wore it.

Metal cake decorating tips would work of course you can't use it for cake decorating again.

I use a bob (Not a guy) I found in the lumber yard. Plumb bob?
