As a PoE veteran I thought I would hate Torchlight Infinite, but now 500+ hours in I'm have a lot of fun with how smooth the gameplay is. PoE has good gear progression but this games gear progression is honestly SUPER smooth. There is always something more you can do to push your build and you don't need to have an encyclopedia of knowledge to do so. Don't like the gacha stuff though.
The gacha sucks, but at least it's just like ~5% stat optimization on your pact spirits (i.e. getting the exact effect you want out of the good ones instead of the still pretty useful common and free pact spirit effects). My biggest gripe was the translation errors making some stuff kinda confusing, but they cleaned up a lot of that with this update, especially the new Help menu is much better at describing some of the nuances of stuff like multistrike and DoT damage/ailments now. The new Filter system is pretty cool too, if a bit tedious the first time you are tuning it for your personal preferences (before there was just the basic default 3 filters iirc).
@Flamewarden_Honoushugoshin I agree with everything but the pactsprits. If you use the Stat boosting ones, then yes, the difference isn't super large. Unfortunately, the pactspirit issue goes much further. The real power of pactspirits lies in the ones that affect drop rate. They are the hardest to get as there is no way to target them, and the difference they make is night and day :/. They quite literally quadruple profits per map as opposed to not using them. That's my biggest gripe, especially with currency making guides. People will have things like Chalk spirit, which literally gives enemies 1% chance to drop flame fuels...
@@DaJodad Huh, I suppose that might be the case, in my experience you get so much Flame Fuels if you can consistently do Tm8+ maps that it's barely an increase. Especially with the new season mechanic, dropping like 5 flame elementium at a time even on a bad DoT Youga build that only does Tm6 consistently (Switching over to an Erika build now that I have a baseline to work off unless someone else claims top spot for my Low Tier dork on the leader-boards for SSFHC). Maybe I'm just not pushing the upper end hard enough yet to need the best drop stuff, but I've also been playing HCSSF this season, so I don't really need a ton of spare currency for the most part... I can see how on a good character pushing big currency that would be busted potentially though.
@Flamewarden_Honoushugoshin Just as a very recent anecdote for this, a random free pull today gave me the season pactspirit which is a currency spirit. I straight up feel bad using it. It makes it such that when you kill a nightmare root its 10% per bubble to replicate and drop the bubble. PER ROOT. It's not funny how much more currency it gives in t8s, one map duplicated 4 rainbow neatherrealm bubbles, dropping 30+ t5+ maps. The currency spirits make a HUGE difference for sure and it feels awful honestly :/ . With a basic currency pactspirit setup people are running 50%+ additional flame fuels quantity and 40%+ quantity. It's ridiculous at all levels

One of my favorite games currently, I like going back and forth between it, PoE, and Titan Quest for the different experience each of them gives. I'm glad fans of the Hack'n'Slash Dungeon Farmer genre are eating so well right now, and hopefully some day we can get a proper Sci-Fi game.
Game is genuinely a lot of fun in my opinion, i got it a week ago and have sunk like 70 hours in. Its not as in depth as poe but it still has depth and fun stuff to do. The gatcha pet system is kinda scuffed but you can play entirely ftp and still be competitive without the best ones and get new champions every season, ive been only ftp and ive gotten my second character which made the game EVEN more enjoyable for me. Dont just read into the "oh its ptw its garbage" try it, its fun. If you like poe but want something a bit simpler that you can play on your phone i definitely recommend it.
@@ZaggaZye Game is not bad at all, it's just PoE light. It's the perfect thing to play between PoE leagues when you just want to blast or tinker with some new builds.

I'm sorry for poe related comment here. But there's some people who are waiting for a gauntlet to happen. There is no need in huge rewards though. . The event in itself will be awesome.
@@FliskerX It's like Genshin, Granblue, Ni No Kuni mobile, and Mobius FF in that aspect, no one plays/ed them on phones because they need a proper CPU+GPU to play, not some tiny mobile APU made for Match-3, Hidden Objects, and Crosswords.
It is free to play, what are you talking about? You can do everything with all the free to play characters. Edit: Plus, you get Hero Tokens each season, if you play enough, to unlock a new hero, do you really have to play ALL of the characters at once?

IMO a majority of power of a character in TLI comes from the hero itself and not the skill aka you are stuck playing the little few meta skills that exist for your hero

No dude. They announced years ago it would have multiplayer. It came out and didn't have it. Season 1? Didn't have it. Season 2? didn't have it. Season 3? doesn't have it. Game looks like son of poe. Looks fun. But i really cant enjoy paying a lot money to draw card which contains character or anything related to power. Obviously you need legendary pets to be good. And you cant but it. Only card which might contain it.
you don t draw characters you can farm a new one per seasons if u don t get the battlepass witch it s worth for its money, and you get the pets for playing anyway
How come? I'm allowed to say what I want about the game, First time I played it I said it was garbage and gave them a bunch of feedback and they improved a bunch since then. I gave it a 6/10 now after the changes, very zoomy game that can improve on a lot
@Bunster the monetization at launch was awful, if they remove the gacha pet monetization they have almost same monetization as poe. Theyre at least moving in a good direction. Overall i give it a 6/10

This game is decent only the artstyle looks like its catered to 9 y olds with the kids toy coloring and artstyle.
In gameplay I kind of dig it more than PoE, simply because I can kind of tell what is going on.
