I agree. T2's are so good I just can't believe it. (I use them on the go..at home hd6xx, hd58x, audeze LCD2 closed back) Listening to classical it has a perfect frequency balance and if you want more bass there is a hole to cover and boom - you have the boosted base if you want it (or apply eq). After watching your review I ordered a pair of these...a few of my thoughts.
Yes they do have nice clear audio and they are built well and come in a fancy box. However I find them overly heavy and uncomfortable. The blue covers only come in one size which don't fit my ears so I can't use those, thankfully they do come with lesser replacements however they are not comfortable and continually fall out. To me they feel unbalanced. The cord while being nice and long seems to be always tangled up and knots quite easily. In summary I have since purchased a different pair to replace these.

Ok, so a quick comparison between KSC75 and T2 non-pro:
-KSC75 is more fun, punchier mid-bass, more relaxed treble but it is non-fatiguing. The sound is much more up-close, not very wide.
-T2 is more detailed, bass is flatter and extends slightly further. Midrange and treble is more obviously detailed and everything plays cleaner and faster. T2 soundstage is further out.
*T2 could get fatiguing after a while compared to KSC75. I like KSC75 with aggressive music and metal, but T2 for all other genres.

You know I listened to my pair of T2 for the first time in almost 2 years today. I could never get a good fit for some reason and I just figured it out. They’re better than I remembered. But I know what you mean about wanting more. A direct comparison to the Tripowin Mele and Moondrop Starfield confirmed they both sound fuller and less fatiguing in the treble while technically superior to the T2. I think the T2 is glossing over many details in the music which is noticeable. The T2 are almost like a less exciting Blon 03.

  • @LastSecBloomer
    @LastSecBloomer 5 лет назад +8

I love the T2s. Clarity is their thing, definitely.
Their usual price is $50 but they're often on sales on Aliexpress, I got mine for $27-28, which is a fucking steal for the sound you get.
They're built great, metal casing. The cable is nice, tends to stay bent here and there but it's ok, it's better than most stock cables. The jack is the OEM kind that they put on many chinese IEMs and replacement cables, nothing special (you have to cut corners somewhere to get that price). Even better, they can be worn both ways, over the ear or simply by plugging them in, they're very comfortable in both. I've even slept with them in my ears...
And those eartips are the star of the show. Never mind the comfort, the T2s literally sound the best with those blue stock tips. I lost mine (don't ask how) and tried multiple foam and rubber tips and none sounded as good. I would kill to find out where to buy those exact blue tips...
They sound amazing for the price. Clear, neutral but not boring, great treble, on the bright side, detailed...one of those earphones that make you go "damn, I never knew there was that sound in this song before!". Sure, hardcore audiophiles with thousands of $ in equipment will find flaws and say this or that is much better, but this-or-that will also be much more expensive in order to beat T2. For Avegarge Joes, enthousiasts on budget or just people who want good IEMs and not spend a fortune, for $50 (or 30, if you find them on sale) these are a must buy.
Now, is there a reason not to buy them? Well, yes - if you're a basshead. The bass is there and it's nice and tight, but it's flat (there are considered neutral, remember). It's adequate for pretty much anything but those who like big, thumpy bass may find T2 lacking. I listen to all kinds of music and, while being fantastic all-rounders, there were ocasions where I wished there was more bass. If there's anything that can be changed on them it's boosting those low frequencies a bit to make them more suitable for stuff like dubstep and bass-heavy music.
There is a way to do it, though, the "T2 vent mod". There is a tiny hole on the base of the muzzle where eartips go. Plugging that hole (on both sides, ofcourse) results in boost to lower frequencies and, better yet, it doesn't mess up the rest. I'd be interested in Zeos trying it out...
All in all, buy them. You won't regret it.

Yay finally! One major issue I'm having with the DM6 is comfort, and I think this needs to be highlighted to everyone. The problem is with it being completely sealed. My ear canals seem to change volume/shape quite a bit just by moving my jaw slightly or turning my head. This causes pressure problem everytime I do that. It is terribly annoying. I can't be the only guy with this problem--it's near unusable. Tips rolling doesn't help, unless I put one that doesn't seal (duh). It needs a tiny hole.

Yes these have heavy duty build, these feel at the most $150 in terms of quality, there's some weight to them but not too heavy. I like that the MMCX plugs have a satisfying click AND hold on very tight, though I am cautious about unplugging them as again, I have no clear understanding of their durability... Which I have to return to another point, no issues after dropping them on the floor and my glass desk, and the wires themselves feel at least $100 in terms of robustness. General comfort is beyond what I'd expect from an all-metal build, the shape and angle is perfect. The tips are okay, I'm used to substandard tips so these don't really detract from the entire experience. The sound is crisp and full of life, this is likely going to be a "me" thing and some are going to probably disagree. So far the sound is much better than fifty dollars would've left me to presume.
As a starter kit I'm gonna hang onto these until they die, they are comfortable and get the job done.

T2 is nice and clean sounding mids and highs but its a bit too anemic for a lot of genres without some sort of low end boost but it sounds fantastic with doom metal and most rock i prefer the BGVP DMG's but thoes are gonna run you at least 100.. but i love using the tin t2s with a little bass boost on my Topping NX4.. and on a side note my T2 cord came broken and after only 1 month use the left side only has 1 working driver now

I also have several expensive IEM's (Etymotics ER4, tripleFi, etc.) but the T2's are best (for me).
The T2's are quite neutral and have great soundstage. I love them.
I have seen them go for as low as $29 on Ali (originals, I bought one set for that price).
The original cable is great but I love these so much I upgraded the cable on both sets.

I’m really glad you make such reviews because first it informs us that not everything has to be super expensive to be good and second because it helps out those companies that most of us have never even heard of. I have a Sennheiser CX 2.00i’s to compare them to once they arrive and I’ll update this comment once I do have them.
    Update:
These are light years ahead of their 50$ price range. I am hearing sounds in songs I have never heard before. And the build quality feel is phenomenal and so simple. These are a 100% worth the buy as Z mentions in his review. Way ahead of the Sennheiser CX 2.00i's that I have and for less money. Went to listen to my PXC 550's right away and I just wanted to come back to these. That's how good these 50$ Tin T2's are. Although I will admit, running them through an amp gives them that extra oomph.

Also the cable might look nice but it does have it's issues in that the 3.5mm connector isn't snug in most holes. In my phone, it wobbled around a bit and if you walked around bumping it would cause one channel to lose connection. I find it odd that I personally had a very bad experience with my T2's, I've had them for 2 months, the foam tips obliterated themselves in like 2 weeks, one of them wouldn't stay on the earphone and the other had it's rubber insert ripped out when I tried to get it off. Also they started sounding really muffled, they are now at about 1% or less of the original output at full volume on any device I use them with and finally the cable broke at the base of the jack causing an imperfect contact in the right bud.

I've never used proper IEMs. I've only ever purchased the $10 generic "we make everything else so may as well make some trash tier ear buds with screamy, blaring mids & highs with the muddiest, messiest bass imaginable"-models.
I've already got a pair of T2's ordered, just looking at reviews to fan the hype flames now. Cannot fucking wait. You turned my excitement up to 11.
In case you, or any other knowledgeable commenter, peruse the comments of old videos: do you think it'd be worth getting an AudioQuest Dragonfly to play FLAC tracks on a Samsung S10+ using the T2's?
Edit: Received them. Barely taken them out of my ears since. These are beyond incredible. It's one of the best things I've bought. My Oculus Rift VR headset, my camping-size memory foam pillow, my small cooler box + 4 liquid filled plastic block things you put in the freezer, which I use to keep soda cold outside of my fridge (because the path from my PC to my kitchen is the longest possible stretch you can walk in my apartment), and Tin motherfucking T2s.
Z is not exaggerating. Anyone who's bitching about T2 "not akshualy being that good" is brain dead with an ear drum full of pigshit.
These things make my ears *dance.* With a small EQ to bump the bass just a little in a shallow curve from 31Hz to neutral at 250Hz, , pull the 1kHz down just a touch, bring the 2kHz & 8kHz up a couple of notches, and 16kHz down a notch, and they sing. They just sing.
The lows, the mids, the highs, the imaging. MMH. 50 euro for these. It's a fucking joke. I'll be spending *twice* that on an AudioQuest Dragonfly Black for these, if not quadruple for the Red version. Because they deserve it. They deserve more than this paltry S10+ of mine can give them. They deserve the world, but alas they get but my waxy ear canal.
