This is great! You've highlighted exactly why Chair and Derena just don't work and why imo never will work. Even if they mess up Dair, I don't know how they can legitimately make half the fandom root for either of these couples again. Loved the ending, the past was just a prologue, it all starts from here!

Blair loves Chuck. She always will. Serena loves Dan. She always will. Things have gotten fucked up. They all hurt each other. Blair hurt Chuck, he hurt her and Serena shouldn't have done what she did at the end of season 5 to Dan and Blair but Dan broke Serena's heart. I don't really blame her. I think all of its messed up.
Dan and Blair could never work because they were both masochists and they both returned to their masters, Chuck and Serena, LOL ...
I will always be sad for their end :(
So feel pity for them. You know what? I hate when Dair Fans judge Chair Fans and generally Chair. You get Dair "underaction" but from the beginning we have seen growing Chair's love up in air. Their chemistry and it's really about the tv operas. Love which is incredibly strong. I know Chuck hurts B. lots of time. I know but everyone deserves second chance. He changed and all could notice that. He also admitted that he had thoughs about Dair endgame.. but Blair has choosen.
Heres the thing, it's not like "people deserve second chances". You someone tries to manipulate you, sell you out, rape you, hurt you physically, like, would you forgive all of that, without any respect or love to yourself, like, then perhaps you don't even love the person you were dating
