I just started my new course and one of my modules is Concept Art, you've been an absolute inspiration of mine for the last 4 years, and I would love to learn more from you to create the best work that I can!
I've just finished watching this course and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Nicholas is an exceptionally talented artist but most importantly a superb teacher. He doesn't just leave you watching him work, he constantly and clearly explains his thought process, takes time to give examples on methods, techniques and underlying principles. If you have any interest in character design, colour theory or even just getting better at digital painting, this is well worth your time!
I'm currently studying for 2D Character design at my university and I've been looking for a course to follow, especially from someone I admire !! this is perfect!! got the course immediately! I may not have procreate, but I'm hoping to get tips and tricks. Love your work Nicholas!!
I'd love to take up this course but I have no iPad (and therefore, no Procreate...) Would I be able to apply it instead to Clip Studio Paint or other similar software..?
This course has more to do with the thought process in creating your own characters. I’d say you don’t need to do this work digitally. And if you have a different art tablet or have a computer with photoshop…the same rules apply as in Procreate. Have fun creating! Nick is a really great teacher! Cheers, Terry
What my mom said (lol hi mom!) is right! There’s only one or two things you’d need procreate for (my brush recommendations for instance) but 99% of the course should apply no matter what art software you use :)

It does cover some of the basic principles- we cover line of action, basic color theory, capturing volume, flow etc. but I would say that it’s a good companion course to take alongside some really basic study like anatomy and drawing from life (which I don’t cover, but would be super helpful) Ultimately, my goal here was to teach how to design characters, but not necessarily how to draw in general. If that sounds like a good fit, I hope you enjoy it!!
