First of all, wearing gloves should be necessary. Secondly, you cannot hold the strip vertically as the guy is holding in the video, this could give false results :)
@@kennie8152 That solely depends on the position of the labelling. So the important thing is to make good use of your eyes . From the video, the urine is labelled vertically,so the guy is correct with his positioning. If it was labelled horizontally that's when you would have position it horizontally.
I’m having terrible flank pain and I make kidney stones often. I have these test strips and I use them before I decide to seek medical attention. This morning, I ran a strip through my urinary stream while peeing and it showed no red blood cells. I have some clean collection cups so just now I peed and dipped the test strip into the collection container, as shown in this video. My urine is now showing a high number of red blood cells. I had no idea that I wasn’t getting correct results from urinating directly on the strip. Thanks for making and sharing this helpful video!
Ah thank you, I wanted to know if the dipstick would be valid after read time. I seem to have cleared a UTI at read time, but after read time it changed colour significantly to look like I still had Leukocytes easterase present.
All I want is to check whether a UTI is present, not wait until symptoms become apparent. I have watched three videos so far, and none gives a clear answer.
This test is not testing for bacteria. We do have a pet test that looks for signs of infection like blood cells or protein www.valuemed.co.uk/products/vechek-11-parameter-urine-test-strips-for-vets?keyword=pet
then do as it is said, the specific times are because the concentration of the chemical on the pad might dissolve after a certain time giving u false results
Actually, this demonstration/explanation is confusing and not at all helpful!! It does not clearly state what parameter corresponds to which patch on the strip!! Even the vial does not show on its outside label an authentic picture of a whole strip (before use) which shows, ie., marks out clearly every patch with the parameter it corresponds to and clearly stating it's original color. Moreover, the position of the indicator patch from the strip's "holding end" should be clearly indicated! Another confounding aspect is that there are actually 11 patches affixed on the strip. But the strip is meant for testing 10 parameters!! Why is there an extra patch located first from the holding end?? This is very confusing!! Why aren't the identities of each of the 10 patches for each parameter clearly indicated?? Which is the glucose patch and at which end?? Which is the LEU patch and it is at which end?
Thank you for the feedback and sorry you found the video confusing . Its fairly easy once you get used to it . We will go into this in more depth on our next video on the 10 parameter Urine test strips

This procedure should be done in how many minutes
Also take note of the manufacturer's "Use before date" ?
Thank you very much, I have struggled with the understanding of these strips, now I understand I will test again and see what I get..
Thank you so much.
I had no idea about all those different read times.
The top (leukocytes) colour on my bottle (neg) is cream, but the pad after testing is more white?
What if there’s blue on the strip but not on the protein one
Can this also read the potassium level?
Bought the cheapest brand of pet urinalysis 10 step strips. Works pretty good for me & my cat!
How in the world do I get a urine sample from my cat she won't pee in a cup for me??

Leukocytes indicate uti. If they turn the colors associated with leukocytes, then there’s a positive result for UTI.
Can this kit determine if there’s bacteria in my dogs urine?

Layman's terms ?
So these test strips is not an alcohol and drug test?
No they work completely different and are often electronic.
Is that Dr Mike Yeadon talking?
When is the best time to test?😊
first pee in the morning, use the mid-stream technique to pee in the cup
Depends what you are testing for . These tests can be used at any time of day
My instructions (dif brand) say to read the first 9 results at 60 seconds and then the last one leukocytes read at 90 secs
