The Cranberries' debut is pretty much flawless. I loved that group. Great drum tones on their albums. I love "December". That box set was an amazing find.. Really nice Cash album.
Yes, I know what you mean about being lucky. I kind of see record collecting like fishing, sometimes you bring home a fish or two and sometimes not even a nibble. I wanted to get that first Cranberries album and almost got the repress on vinyl and then I saw the CD for $2!!! I like that early Bob Marley material too. CD's are such a great bargain. I have that Phillip Glass record, I need to listen to it again. Thanks for sharing your finds!
Except for certain bands, Cd's are typically only a temporary thing for me to hold onto long enough to put on my hard drive. I do collect and keep some though. I like your analogy about fishing as that is exactly how it is. When you hook onto that whopper of a record though, that's when the adrenaline gets going.
Hi tcat I really like the cranberries I have CDs by them I think it’s time I purchased some vinyl by them . I go to car boot sales every weekend and some weekends it’s pretty slim pickings but I just keep going eventually I find something decent., one thing is certain if you don’t go looking you’ll never find anything. Those are nice looking bbc pink Floyd , and cream records . Thanks for sharing tcat 👍
That's a great find for a thrift store Mike, Cranberries are awesome, I just love the song Zombie - CDs are easier to find that Records in my area - I have one Goodwill that gets tons of CDs but no records at all. George Winston CDs are very interesting, I will pick them up when I see them. I am not familiar with that album by the Black Keys - Pink Floyd BBC recording looks very interesting 😊.
Yes that BBC recording is unbelievably clear and clean. I wish I had picked up the other two the first time I saw them because now they are not available.
Hi Mike, I really need more Marley, I've only got the Marley Legend vinyl, but that CD looks great. The Tubes album was a great find from a goodwill. Another band I need more of. It's bad in the UK now though Mike, it's rare I find anything worth getting in our charity shops now. I think the Record Shop dealers all have arrangements as very little seems to hit the charity racks. JC, another nice find. I recognise that response from the wife.....I tend to get that a lot Mike when I play my records 😂Steven Wilson is an interesting guy, I must dip into him more. Take care. Mike
If you want to try out Steven Wilson, I would suggest either The Raven that Refused to Sing or Hand Cannot Erase, both excellent progressive albums. It's always hit and miss with the charity shops here too, but I was having quite a streak of good luck there for a while.
The Cranberries are very good. That's a cool George Winston box. I don't know much about him, but what a price on that box. I would have bought it just cause it looks so cool. The Tubes is a good find. Believe it or not, Chulahoma might be my favourite release by the Black Keys. I have a copy of Songs from Liquid days. It's pretty good. Very nice stuff.
Well that hasn't happened for a while. Sorry it took so long to answer this message, but it ended up in my spam mail box. You are right, the box is very cool. It's not necessarily a box set I would have been searching out, but I still love his music when I need to hear something a bit more relaxing and minimal. And the price was pretty amazing.
Hi Mike. I don't have any luck with thrift stores but I will keep looking. That looks like a cool George Winston box set. I think that I only have one of his Windham Hill albums. That is a really nice Tubes album. I have not heard about that Johnny Cash album. It looks like you have some interesting pickups.
Thrift stores are a bit hit and miss as far as having luck, but it brings back the feelings of excitement that I used to have when I first started collecting when I do find something worthwhile. I find it's always worth it to check them out if I'm in the area already.

Wow! Urban Cowboy brings back memories! My mom had that record...I'd forgotten how well i knew that album!

Saw The Tubes at Poole Arts Centre, Dorset, England in the 80s. Knockout! Don’t Touch Me There a fave anthem.

Also yard sales and flea markets will be opening soon and I'm looking forward to that
Cool show TCat, I haven't had much luck at thrifts stores locally. I have had great luck at the local antique stores.
Antique stores are also a favorite place of mine to look.
@@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx Grabbed a lot of good vinyl in them
