MOST well written songs will sound great as a piano version. This is definitive evidence of ABBA's genius. In some ways, it sounds even better. The brilliance shines through.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I believe that Super Trouper is originally written by someone sitting in front of a piano/keyboard, playing around and experimenting. Maybe that's also true for most pop hits and ballads, e.g. by Phil Collins. This explains why they're nicely playable on pianos.
@@arnet922 It's very typical that chromatic pop music is written with the help of keyboard. Rhythmic pop music is often done with the help of a guitar.
Keyboard inspired songs don't necessarily sound great on a keyboard. Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" is a prime example. (I'm assuming that since he's known as the Piano Man, that he used a piano keyboard).
In the news...looks like ABBA may have reunited. A new album will be released. Amazing times.

I ran a Trouper in college in theatre. Cleaned the disc and did the splash lights for cues.
