Wow,I watched this plane fly off North Island when I was in the US Lexington back in 1961. Happy to see it fly again.

Wow! That would have been even more awesome to see in person. Did the center pontoon take on water. It seemed lower in the water on the way back to shore. It's too bad he couldn't take it up longer. I saw you said it was because of FAA rules. That's too bad. I would love to see these airplanes up close. Maybe some day.

@@SIKVIDEOS I'm glad it was a successful day. This country has so many rules that it's hard to call it the land of the free anymore...😢

Take notice, the aircraft does not have a puny 4 cyl. engine or warp the wings!

Wait...that's the extent of how airborne he got? Was that just for safety reasons? You can't tell me that's all the thing does. First naval airplane or not, there'd be no point in barely clearing the water for 2 seconds. I think even ol' Howard did better in the Spruce Goose!

@@SIKVIDEOS : Yes, please kill the music. It's the old problem on RUclips. Why add music to a technical video about machines and engines? Don't you trust your content? Why drown the original sounds with a musical sauce? The sound of an old P&W radial engine or-in this case-of an OX -5 motor-is music enough:
