  • This is a review of the Sevylor 12V 15 PSI High Pressure Air Pump.
    It works for virtually anything you need from pool toys to the top of the line high pressure kayaks.It is a all in one Inflatable air pump.
    I use it to inflate my Sea Eagle FastTrack 385FT.
    It beats the price of every other high pressure air pump for use in this area and I am on my 3rd season with it and it is still going strong. Check it out in action, along with all the info you need to make a decision about purchasing one yourself. Please Like and Subscribe ! Thanks for your time and I hope it helps.

    Thanks for sharing and the great video! I also have a sea eagle kayak ! Does the adaptor with this pump fit the recessed air valves without using the adapter that comes with the kayak ? Your help would be greatly appreciated!! Many thanks Michael

    Yo Des, thinking of getting my family into kayaking this summer. Is there an inflatable you'd recommend?

      Do you want to do just rivers or something that can do flatwater( non current) and what do you need for portability ? you can go inflatable or hard shell. Hard shell is cheaper but cant travel easy and cant carry a lot of weight. they flip easy to. . Inflatables can do it all but can be more expensive for a really good one that will last you a lifetime. can go cheper with a inflatable that is more river based but then its not as tough.

    Excellent review 👍 Do you think I could carry a motorcycle 12V battery and if it’s fully charged, pump up an inflatable boat using this Pump? Or would the charge go down on the battery before finishing pumping up the boat? I am afraid my vehicle might get a low charge on the battery (then not start) using one of these pumps for 20 minutes, without the vehicle running to help maintain the vehicle battery charge.

    • @Desode
      @Desode  3 года назад

      Thats a easy fix. Just start your vehicle and your keep your car running while you inflate the boat. The generator on a vehicle supplies the power to the cigarette lighter when it is running so it will not affect your vehicles battery as long as you start your vehicle.

    I use a Sevylor ($25.00) to inflate my Sea Eagle 370 SE inflatable kayak. Then finish off with the foot pump.

    The hose is too brittle and cracked right away so it leaks and will not go higher than 9 psi on my SUP which should be filled to almost 15. They should attach a rubber hose or something less likely to crack.

    • @Desode
      @Desode  7 лет назад

      Susan Ardito It appears from the comments that the hose quality was changed about a year after it came out. Mine is still going strong and had been ran over even a few times. lol I did replace the rubber ring on the end of the hose where it plugs into the valve.

    I just bought one of these and the output air is getting progressively hotter. Is there a chance it's going to melt down?

    • @Desode
      @Desode  7 лет назад

      Jamie Valentin,I cant speak for the newer models. With that said,most of the current issues mentioned with the latest ones have been about the hose breaking. Mine has always got a little more then warm and no issues even in the summer heat. Thanks for watching!

    • @jamievalentin1193
      @jamievalentin1193 7 лет назад

      Ah ok, thanks for the video and the quick reply! One more question if I may: How long can you safely run one of these? I hope to use it for 10-20 minutes at a time, suctioning air through a filtration system on a small wood working cabinet. Little to no dust will actually contact the pump as I'm using a dust separator and filters. Thanks again!

    • @Desode

      Jamie Valentin That is a very interesting idea! i have done some power carving myself in the past. Wish I could give you more of a definitive answer on this one. My 13ft high pressure zodiac inflatable takes about 15min to inflate. I have done that and my Kayak back to back numerous times with a few second break while switching chambers. probably around 20-25 mins doing that. Hope that helps. Sincerely, Desode

    • @jamievalentin1193
      @jamievalentin1193 7 лет назад

      Very helpful, thanks. I'm thinking of cutting a larger hole so I can increase the hose size to 2". Do you think suction will be affected?

    • @Desode
      @Desode  7 лет назад

      Jamie Valentin, I don't know for sure however I would think in theory, it shouldn't matter as long as the larger hose is sealed correctly. Once the suction is gathered in the hose and it starts to draw I dont think it would matter. I could be wrong but that would be my take on it. You figure that when the hose connects to a boat the chamber sizes vary.

    The pump is decent, but geez you need a stronger pump for that boat. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to fully inflate. It's worth spending the extra money for a much stronger pump that can do it all. I don't know where you are seeing top graded pumps for 200. I found mine for under 100.

    • @Desode
      @Desode  4 года назад

      Wes this video has been out for. Good while. When it came out there were not many pumps that could do high pressure for inflables. Over the last 5yrs the SUP market has greatly changed the cost of these kind of pumps. Thanks for your comment. Sincerely Desode

      @@Desode It hasn't been that long. It was 2018. Just go with a higher wattage pump. It's not a bad pump at all. But that pump for your boat is not a good fit (my humble opinion) It's tough to find a good one that does it all. It took me awhile to find one.

      @@wesg2313 I bought the pump in 2015. The video was uploaded in 2016. That's a long time ago. I have since got a different pump but I beat the crap out of this one for 3 yrs and I kayak 4-5 days per week. At the time it couldnt be beat for the money. Thanks again for the comment and reply.

    This pump is crap, mine one was leaking during high pressure inflation and the inflating is insanely slow for SUP. I rather use dual action hand pump.

      七千转 They changed the parts since I did the video. Particularly the hose. Mine is still going strong and I bought it in 2015 which was a yr before I uploaded the video review. I use it about 4 times a week in the spring summer and fall and zero issues. It even survived being ran over with my truck. Lol. Its a shame they changed parts on it. Thanks for watching and your comment.

      If you buy some rescue tape (silicone tape) for $10 you can patch the week spots in the hose and you are back in business.. I had to patch mine out of the box. and have been using it for almost two years after. Its still worth the money at this price point.
