When he unlocks the game will direct his zone attack towards the minions, meaning the zone attack will external any enemies within its hitbox and they can't parry it and have to dodge it or block, or might eat it because no one really uses that trick
@BIGBRAIN-yz7js exactly, they most of the time try to parry it and sometimes hitbox is not enough and their parry attempt heavies go through then you follow it up with the fujin force to CC those, or just wait in neutral
Sohei already looks weak. Gb is one of the highest revenge feeds and that is basically his entire moveset. Honestly isn't strong unless has his feats, but he'll never get them. I'd honestly prefer if his damage was buffed slightly on heavies and a lot more on the lights and his special move did like 65 damage. Even 45 is still massive. The fight with his kyoshin buddy at the start of the video and they were barely half hp and both full on revenge. He just will be so bad
At the risk of being called a "comp scene player" and somehow advocating for standardization is bad nowadays I'll say this; Sohei needs a bit more toolkit that hero heroes have. He needs his top heavy dodge attsck to be fientable and possibly undodgeable, similar to Warmongers. To keep people from rolling from his neutral bash in a panic. His chain lights could also be enhanced, so on block he can go back to his zone extender. Biggest thing he needs is any light or heavy into any light or heavy chains. Ie. Two hit omni-chain. I get that he's a return to OG For Honor in form but that isn't the game we have today. For a weapon master, you can't choose any weapon to attack with at any time. His heavy dodge attack should feel way different that is light if we're giving him an omni chain. Maybe slow it down and give it one special property (undodgeable, fientable, etc). I'm entirely fine with his soul gimmick and the low damage. What I'm not fine with is how restrictive his kit is when he needs to win a bunch of reads in chain but those chains are very restrictive. He looks like a buffed up NPC at this point. People are going to play around the soul mechanic, button check him with lights/bashes so he can't get GBs, and bully him a lot. Who cares if you get light punished less than half the time when he has to give up soul generation with terrible damage to do an average 24 damage zone attack? My prediction is Ubisoft will buff his normal damage up to ~13 lights and ~20-24 heavies but reduce his skewer to ~45 damage. It won't fix his kit problem but it will smooth him more into the rest of the cast. Plus, people are going to complain about being one shot and him being a GB fishing one trick hero, so they're going to take his big damage move away and try to lean away from GB spam.
I do agree he's a one trick pony. And his normal damage is weak, but the souls thing is fine how it is. Any parry punish he gets one soul with the weapon he chooses. But I do agree his kit is pretty limited comparing to VG's for example.
I don't think he'll be a good ganker right away. Just like it took a while for all the other heros to learn how to team fight it's gonna take sometime for players to learn him in 4v4 etc.
I don't want his soul attack thing touched. He's a hero with one of the most unique win conditions in the game and I love when it pays off. Tweeks to the rest of his kit are fine as it's pretty weak, and that's putting it nicely.

If you think his only way to acquire souls is by GB, maybe you should go to the training mode with him...😅
