Always Something There to Remind Me by the Naked Eyes was released in fall MCMXC. The song is melancholy, pleasant and poignant. But Brenda Lee’s, Sandie Shaw three decades earlier are the best versions. Naked Eyes, however, was excellent.
Early winter, 1983.My very first love had broken off our engagement with no warning signs or an explanation. I was sitting in my 1975 Torino, waiting for the local garage to open. This song came on the radio...and I lost it. All that anguish and pain got loosened up and finally came out. This is perfect cos I'd play the 45 RPM at 33 1/3 RPM every so often. Wore out three copies, IIRC.
One of my favorite songs
