      @Rk0788 k Jr and his sister both said that he was not a father they could count on. look at Jr."s pod cast about Dale Sr. and Kelly's talk with Kyle Petty

    • @ktmpasser
      @ktmpasser 3 года назад +1

      @Rk0788 k It’s well documented by Jr. himself. His dad was more concerned with building his racing career than raising children.

    • @leighmagrum4434
      @leighmagrum4434 3 года назад

      @Rk0788 k her point being Dale Sr was not there hands on with Kerry,Kelly and Dale Jr while they were growing up. Brenda only gave up custody to Dale Sr only after the fire that ruined their home. Dale Jr very much relied on Kelly all his life. Kelly stepped up to take care of him cause their dad and Tasha were always at the races. It was only after Tyler was born that he became a hands on father

    Such a class act, you can tell how proud he is of Truex, Dale is the only reason Truex was given a chance, one of the few who believed in him. Now Martin will try to surpass Dale Jrs success. Thank you Dale for giving the little guys the chance to run in top tier equipment and prove that they belong, you will truly be missed

      @G hrvyck easy. Daytona 500’s aren’t really a who’s who in nascar. More of who survived and got lucky. Trevor bayne, Ryan Newman, Michael waltrip, ward burton, I can name some other drivers who have won the 500 and didn’t and don’t have great NASCAR careers.

    • @samuelalmanza49
      @samuelalmanza49 3 года назад

      @G hrvyck same can be said for talladega. It was more his car and the horsepower DEI use to make there. And comparing jr.s NASCAR career to other drivers who have had a great career, yes Jr.‘s wasn’t great

    I think Dale Jr. is the way he is just because of the way his dad raised him before he passed. Such a humble and respectable guy. He wasn’t handed really handed anything and he really had to work his way up to be a real nascar driver in the beginning, just like anyone else would, although his dad was so famous he probably could’ve easily just hopped in the car on spot and started racing. Much love for Dale Jr. I’ve watched him since I was about 5 years old. Thank you for all the memories Jr!
