*Dude, Carsten! You hooked me into subscribing! Man, your sense of humor is dynamite, Brother. You had me cracking up throughout your whole review. So, the reason I found this review is I JUST got done modding my ST-Acoustic after four doggone years! (I'm a very busy guy, so I don't totally obsess over one guitar and I love taking my time when I do.) I bought mine as B-stock. It has a slightly warped top and weird blemishes on the ABS but I held out hope that I could make this guitar a winner!* *First thing I did was plan out how to "black out" everything, not unlike how your friend did. I swapped the tuners for black Wilkinson staggered tuners (which didn't do the trick as advertised, so I bought new black roller string trees too), replaced the nut with a black graphite nut and installed a graphite bridge saddle.* *My fret ends poked like crazy, so I sanded down the ends, then used 0000 steel wool to smooth them out, as well as to even the frets themselves, before oiling the fretboard. However my action was as painfully high as when I received the guitar with its previous bridge. So I sanded down my new saddle, to where the strings almost touch the bridge itself, strung it with extra light (.009) D'Addario phosphor bronze strings and adjusted my truss rod for more relief in the neck. Now it's absolutely effortless and a joy to play.* *MANY thanks again for your super-cool review, good Sir! I'll be visiting your past content VERY soon and look forward to all of your new content! Cheers!*
@@CarstenStepanowicz, *oh, you're welcome, kind Sir! And thank YOU! I'm considering doing a long overdue review video myself, as well as a separate video focused on whether or not brass bridge pins make a difference in overall sound!*🙂🙂
Carsten, you would sound good on any guitar. Whatever guitar you play, it still sounds like you. I think some people hear you playing that guitar and think that they will sound like you, if they buy it. That’s not going to happen. It’s great to see you play, though. Your definitely one of my favorite guitarists out there today
@@CarstenStepanowicz thanks I was thinking 10’s as well nice set up and Martin 10’s with the padded bag and Harley Benton strap for £145 packing end up being free
Because it’s got a piezo pickup, you should be able to use ball-end classical strings - although I suspect you might have to play with the eq a bit to balance it correctly. I never amped my Crafter FX550 when I played it with ball-end classicals - but it felt great to play! PS - if you try ball-end classicals - beware of the sets where the treble strings are black instead of clear - they’re a pig to keep in tune if you’re playing out in the sun; I think it’s the heat absorption of the black nylon.
Du hast einfach sooooo krasse Phil X Vibes!!!!! Musste dich einfach instant abonnieren!
I think that the bumping into controls is solvable by just literally taping it with black tape ahahha also would you recommend it for a person with 7 years of playing classical and electric guitar and needs an acoustic for small gigs with just a singer and guitar? Or do you know which budget guitar is better😁
@@CarstenStepanowicz No luck, lowest was like 350 or more😫 So I'll probably get that HB cause I won't be needing it as much as my other guitars and bass.
You totally confused me with the strap pin?? He removed it from the neck heel and moved it to the bottom of the guitar???? Surely there was already an end pin there, So, where did he move the neck pin to?? You need one at both ends of the body.
Not bad for EUR150. In a studio it can be manipulated to sound as good as one wants. Even live, in the mix, it will do the job. I think Phil X has just found a new vocalist for Bon Jovi. Jon has lost his voice. 😊
Wow that's a cool guitar way cheaper than the fender one that's nice for the mountains, camping,it's loud an bright being deaf and drunk 🥴 😆 very important Carsten 😀
You're a great musician, talented singer ✌️👍💜 However I think that whilst you make the guitar sound great, it seems a good guitar at this price point, for almost anyone. I could be tempted, I never could really justify an Ovation (or their budget brand), plus after learning classical for awhile, I'm not a huge fan of bulky acoustics - perhaps I'll dig out "Whatever Happened to Jugula" and see if I could master some of those tracks🤔✌️🤞👍💜
@@CarstenStepanowicz I love music since i was very young, so i investigated a lot and found some great groups in Europe and around the world. I think that the first time i´ve heard Verdamp lang her, i was 10yo. (Sorry if my english is too shitty)

I have the Fender Version; it has a built-in tuner as well as the EQ! Plays great I love it! I have it in the shop as we speak getting a new set up. I screwed it up when I changed the strings, I took all of them off at once, when I did that and put the new ones on it fked my action up. So took it in Wednesday of last week, dude said it would be ready 1st of the week, hoping tomorrow. I have another acoustic if I want to play, but it isn't the same as playing the fender :( 2 totally diff guitars, they play so diff too. I buy guitars by how they play, not look. I took that one because it looked kool, I went against my own rule, but it is something to play. It plays well, I am just used to the other one is all!
Never tried the Fender but I bet it plays well. Have you put on new strings with a different gauge as well? Normally you don't have to do trussrod adjustmends even if you change all strings at once. ✌️🎄
You could make everything sounding great, because you got IT in your hands and not in the gear. Even this cheapo shit sounds pleasent when you play it! "Verdammp lang her, verdammp lang ... Verdammp lang her :D"
oh mein gott...ich glaub ich bin zu alt um videos toll zu finden wo sogar gerüplst wird...und viel über die gitarre hab ich leider auch nicht erfahren hier... 👎
I mean Kurt Cobain threw distortion on his acoustic when they were doing their legendary Nirvana MTV unplugged thing but this is probably not the sound you're looking for. 😁🙌
How on earth can a good guitarist like you shit your bar chord at 4:58 😮😅😅 ... Okay it's good to hear and see for poor bad guitarists as me !! 🤟👌👌 Even gods can make mistakes 😊
