Thank you. I'm learning so much from your videos. Not too many bass fishermen will share info. Pass it on, you may not be here tomorrow, that's what I believe in. Teach the kids to fish also.
Good tips Lou! When I someday find myself graduating to a bass boat, I'll definitely do this! In the mean time I'll keep squinting at my kayak sized unit. BTW, did you see in the news the piece about all the waste water dumping into Mattawoman? Heartbreaking.
Great video. You commented keep the red buoy on your right. The correct navigation is red right returning. If running up river, red on your right, downriver, green on your right. I’m running Navionics Plus chip, but yours look different. What specific map set is that?
I heard you say that you can network the elite and hds together and share waypoints. I have the nmea network in my boat for the Motorghuide xi5 but didn't know you could share between hds and elite. I'll have to look into that. That would be very handy. Any particular settings you have to do to network these as far as sharing waypoints?
with the maps alone it can give you a side by side comparison. Before the units got to the sizes they are now 12 and 16 this was the only way to increase the amount of screen you have. Honestly with the size of screens available you can really do without dual screens IMO. The benefit is for having the maximum amount of space possible to use maps in combination with your sidescan, downscan, and 2d. All of which are critical to finding the structure fish relate to (side scan), identifying fish and fish size (2d), and identifying the structure how fish are relating (downscan).
This and the boat buying videos are really helpful.

Map study is important for more that just finding the fish. You hit the nail on the head.
Always appreciate the words of advice!
This really helped, I’ll have to teach my dad this!
Nice glad it helped

Nope they synced up seamlessly.
I kind of understand having multiple maps but what other benefits are there from having two units at the helm?

In you hds 9 did you have a navionics nav chip only or something else
Nav and lowrance maps
Until I win the lottery I'll stick with the "this spot looks good" approach.
