    My man! I dropped by your dojo when I came to NYC and it was my favorite part of my vacation! Love the traincation idea!

    I'm interested in a November/December Judo camp ("traincation") at your AirBnB, although I can't agree to train 80% of the time as I can only train for so long before I start hating it. Would be glad to do other outdoor activities though!
    What I really hope for - and this is something I've expressed before - is for there to be a Judo camp in Japan. I'm really happy that you did this episode as this is something I feel like is missing in today's Judo culture when compared to BJJ. I feel like Judo is not democratized and guarded (difficult to train at international schools as an outsider because they don't want to reveal their technique secrets) which is a shame because it limits the growth of the sport. However, I've been very happy with how open you are to new students, new ideas (no gi Judo, leg lock seminars, etc.), and the new people you bright every week to train with us. I hope that you can be the driving force to democratize Judo internationally as you have the platform for it.
    I've been to several BJJ camps (Brazil - 3x, Italy, Spain (took a day off to drive to France to explore)) and hope to go to Argentina/Philippines one day. All of them have been amazing experiences for me as it was the first time I ever traveled to those countries. To your point, a lot of New Yorkers prefer to stay in New York - unless there's an opportunity to travel internationally. On those BJJ Camps, affiliate clubs welcomed us to train. From meeting new people (teachers/training partners), bonding throughout the trip, learning how to surf, sight seeing, night life, trying out different cuisines, and learning about the history and culture of that country - it provided me with a unique experience. A big part for me doing martial arts (Judo and BJJ) is to grow as a person and I feel like after every BJJ camp I've been to I have grown as a person and my BJJ got better.
    If you can provide housing, food, transportation, activities, and classes (excluding flights,), you can easily charge $3-5k per person per week. There's money to be made in organizing these trips.

      A "Judo for BJJ" camp in Japan would be amazing, I would sign up for sure, ha ha. But please do not do it in the summer, it's too hot...

    I didn't know I was on a traincation, I'm on the peak wave of trends! I have trouble fitting judo in the schedule during school year and now in the summer vacation I can just do judo and lifting.
    Do you think these special occasions Like Travis' BBQ, shooting & grappling when seen on social media will get a lot of attention and exposure to for example judo? It's not for me but I believe it will get positive attention outside judo or grappling community, a little bit of that wow effect. What you describe you potentially having sounds almost like an athlete training camp (except a bit more time to admire the scene). I can imagine for someone who was pretty serious about judo, had money and was relatively local it'd be one of the best things you could do on vacation. Resting is cool, but hard work can also be refreshing if it's enjoyable. Like I was pretty spent at the end of the school year but I've been so refreshed and enjoying my time replacing that with judo and physical training. Good luck with planning the camp and getting people to sign up.
    Lovely looking orchids btw!

    Maybe somewhere not really in a city, so that’s super contrast to city life and then work on Atemi Waza where you can sprinkle in a wrestle or a grapple.

    You should lookup BJJ Globetrotters, they're legit when it comes to the train-cations.

    Have you ever thought about training at B-Team in Austin? Idea popped into my head while listening. Might be a bad time with CJI, I don’t know. Canada would be great too! Love the content, thank you

    Your Air BnB in NY traincation sounds outstanding. Go for it! Be sure to let us know dates. For your personal traincation - I’d reach out to Cart Kolat for wrestling, Justin Flores for No Gi, and Tony Cecchine (Chicago) or Matt Furey (Florida) for Catch Wrestling

    Hi Shintaro, Can you do a whole video on the basics/ a tutorial on ippon seoi nage. I have been doing judo for a month and there is something that I just can't put my finger on with my technique. It'll be very helpful to me

    I have a version of "traincation" everytime I go to Thailand. I train, try food, train afternoon then if still have energy go out in the evening. It feels like Im enjoying my youth doing it. Im no fighter, Im not even a "martial artist".

    Come to HK, very high quality BJJ, and definitely there’s demand for new ideas on Judo techniques to build into your BJJ game (both gi and no gi)

      Where in HK do you recommend? Any good places near TST ?

    • @GaijinEagle7
      @GaijinEagle7 Месяц назад

      @@kunalshah1462 For TST, I would look at Kowloon BJJ, they have a big and supportive community, and are very active in competitions. If you're in HK side, I would highly recommend SHBJJ, awesome teaching from the three professors, as well as a wonderful community, very supportive. Not as active in competition, but when their students participate they do very well. From what I have seen, they have the most comprehensive beginners' program (a 6 month structured program), and also have several competition classes a week, as well as takedowns, etc. So it's very comprehensive and you definitely get your money's worth.
