SNES version is actually running at its 256x224 resolution not the 512x448 resolution it can also run (512x448 is typically reserved for menus and the only game that runs in this resolution is RPM Racing).
Yeah I was about to say no way the SNES is producing more resolution than the Genesis. No games ever released on the SNES reached that high of a resolution.
@@ibrohiem the SNES actually does have ways of outputting 512x448 resolution, by using mode 5 and 6, but both of these modes have severe limitations on number of sprites and colors to be used. Some games used these modes to have high resolution texts (useful in a few Japanese games like Seiken Densetsu 3 for example) or textures (Secret of Mana menu backgrounds, RPM Racing). But yeah, Earthworm Jim 2 doesn’t reach these resolutions. Whoever uploaded this video probably just used the high res number that SNES can output from Wikipedia or whatever.
I'm really not sure where these resolutions come from (other than for the Mega Drive and Game Boy Advance), because none of them are running in what might be termed as a high resolution. The Saturn version is more impressive than the PlayStation version, but given they look to be lifted from the Mega Drive version and - in the case of sprites, only tweaked rather than revamped - they're not exactly great examples of what the hardware can do (though the line scrolling background in the Saturn version, along with the depth it creates, is worthy of mention).
They should have named the GBA as Earthworm Jim 2: Cash Grab Edition. At least then nobody would have gotten suckered into buying it back in the day lol
Unrelated to this video but entirely related to your channel - Have you seen or heard anything regarding performance differences between the PS4/PS5 and the Nintendo Switch versions of Atari 50th Anniversary Collection? I'm wondering if the frame rate or resolution are different.
Saturn and playstation has no enemy collision making the game harder. The PC version had the level 2 Lorenzo soil missing. I think the music is a bit different in PC vs ps/Saturn version so yea the best version of the game i think is SNES msu1. A fan patch of the game that add ps music to the SNES version.

Genesis 🏅 😍 * showing what it’s capable of in the right hands.! The system was just underrated, true better more skilled developers really made the genesis shine.! Listen to the music, voices , sfx. This is the same system that Critics trashed and said the music and voices and sfx was trash and sounded like farts.! What we have here is near cd quality and clarity , just like comix zone.!… the genesis was very capable the developers that made the genesis look bad was just not competent enough .
PS1 fez vergonha.

Just Doubled Resolution for SNES
This is complete bullshit as for the screen resolution in this game.
Here is the correct data: SNES -256x224, Saturn - 352x240, Playstation - 320x240.

@@ibrohiem RPM Racing is the only game that ran in SNES high resolution mode, and maybe 3-4 use it for menus thats it.

The GBA version should have been a lot better than it was
Há são todos bonitos ao seu modo, mas a versão do super nes é um pouco abafada, mas passa kkk
O paralax da fase 1 no saturn tem um detalhe a mais das outras, sega wins🥇

You got the SNES resolution way off, this is not accurate at all
