liz is dope, but once the board flips it's another level. liz prolly can't hardflip that set, and ito prolly can't front 270 back lip that handrail. so what's a judge to do except get technical? landing into a boardslide on a rail is somewhat easier than landing a flip trick down a gap. using rails is a way to negate the impact of jumping down a big set. and that looked like a real set, not like those sls mini-stairs. so i suppose the judges reached for that technicality. it was a hard internal discussion but i agree with the results. see how yumeka "flipped" in to that handrail trick?! 🧐🤷🏻♀️🙏
no they were talking about oda but the livestream editing AI production team prolly created this montage into existence before they could even look back at the screen. freaked me out too!!
I don’t know why but I love the way Liz Akama does that trick especially with her baggy clothes style. It’s like her whole body spins like a tornado one way, gets into switch front board then magically instantaneously reverses momentum back to regular. It looks so cool. I’m amazed she does it even down big rails, when I was skateboarding i was never that good, really impressive to see what the women are doing.
prolly not enough contestants on the womens side. they had an odd number of 7. and the mens side prolly had all 16 wanting to enter but had to cap it somehow to fit in the alloted time slot for television.
Yumeka landing that kick flip to feeble after falling down on her run.
Whoooo Yumeka!
Tht hardfliptht 270 switch fromt board was way crazier than tht hardflip

They showed Ito’s clip over and over like it was Oda thinking that was the gold best trick lol. Pay attention! 😂

I am so insanely impressed at the upscaling women's skating. You ladies are killing it.
Hard flip beats a front 270 switch front board back to regs?!?

Yumeka is a warrior landing that kickflip feeble after slamming hard.
2:36 That would have rocked my life out.😮 She is hardcore.😊
23:06 That 5050 was kind of James Hardy-esque
Funny how they pump up so much the american skaters and they are nowhere near the level of the japanese riders.
Oda is such a monster
💯🛹🔥
Why a new format for men but not for women?

Lackluster bullshit. Props on the flip feeble.
