And finally what would the problems be if bone growth wasn't done... Again thanks
Yo since I'm European and I only know about metric numbers lol I will explain to you my height this way lol. Anyway I'm only 166cm and I want to make it to 178 by this surgery, is it possible to do this or I might face some problems. Or will I look unproportional. And one last thing, will my weight go up because I don't want to look like an ectomorph.
No dude it doesn't make you to look like an ectomorph only your legs are gonna be lengthened not whole body so your shoulders remains same right so no problem
If the surgeon sees you recover well from the first surgery and agrees with you for round 2, then you might be able to achieve that length yes. I don't have a mock-up of your current proportions so can't say although your legs will be longer if that helps. You can't change your body type because of LL so you should be good there
I don't think that would be wise to do this surgery just for proportion sake. It's expensive, and takes a lot of effort to rehab. The surgery is more useful for those looking to balance limbs or boost stature when very dissatisfied with height

@@edxander7169 Height enhancing water, I gotta get on that. It would sell like hotcakes lol. But yeah so most clinics include therapy with it but hospitality is usually separate yet affordable for example some centers have local housing rooms at $15/day which is great. As far as people knowing, it's easy just don't tell them or anyone who might tell them either. Only very close family and friends knew for me hence unless a patient wishes to share their story publicly, I have (and all patients should) adopt a code of respect for privacy for others and themselves if that's what they wish. Since the demand for something like this channel was so great for a good while I decided to just let everyone know I did LL. And some of my "other" friends as in bodybuilding etc. are like "what the heck are you doing talking about breaking legs and getting taller". I'm like whatever, world need to know. So I'll take the scrutiny so you and other LL'ers don't have to.
Hey Victor, what is the chance of having weird walking style after surgery due to imbalance of upper body with lower new long legs? Would it look funny?
You will walk funny for a bit of time post-LL like in first few months but as you strengthen the abductors and surrounding muscles you will walk better over time to perfect walking gait
our stories are soo similar I've had femur fracture, then monolateral even i have muscle tethering and now thinking about internal nail in tibias man damn
Could you tell me exactly what kind of technique you used in your bone stretch. is there any consensus on which would be the safest technique, and which would bring less risk in the long run for a 5 cm stretch? I read in some forums that it would be the use of conventional iliziarov in Tibia. Thank you very much man!!!!
For lengthening I had the original Precice nail. Honestly it depends. Yes for tibial nailing the internal nail has the chance to mess with the knee at the patellar tendon whereas the circular fixator like illizarov or TSF without nailing would avoid this yet the scarring could be more significant. But then the size of it would make PT harder vs the size efficient internal nail like stryde. I think I recovered in my knee all the way if anything I may feel my knees from training heavy from bodybuilding but that’s just me. So for you the external tibia could be an option if available
What about if someone got limb lengthening surgery and then went to compete in MMA for cage fights? Wolf's Law says that cracking bones using micro fractures can strenghen bones over time. So say if I got this, recovered, then used shin conditioning techniques to harden the bone, could I get back in the cage?
once your bone is broken, it will never be as strong as it once was and another break will most likely occur on where they did your incision. i would be more careful about kicking, but just be wary of how hard you do it
Assuming you are healthy and have good nutrition your bone should heal as it was pre-op. However, it will take time to weight bear enough to regain the same density but within a few years your bone should be as good as new. Rushing back to sport is risky as it can damage things if too soon
Hey sup Can you do a little info sometimes on implant cost comparison between various external and internal implant. I mean my surgeon says that if I find his pricing expensive he can prescribe the measurements for nail as to length and width of implant but I have a choice to outsource it so it will be nice if we can get a price comparison of various external and internal implants Thanks Stay safe
Yeah it kind of depends on the surgeons/clinics and their respective pricing. I've never heard of outsourcing nails besides what the medical device tech companies sell to them if I understand you correctly? But yeah when I repurpose this topic again I'll be sure to include some numbers. Thanks!
@@Cyborg4Life I meant the price range generally offered by companies and also the implant price generally charged for a usual implants when sourced from the doctor for types of implants like iskd or precice as well as externals like monolaterals
@@hamzaahmed3730 Oh well I know the stryde nail pair is about $40,000 USD so if that means anything. Then external fixators are about a 1/4 of that and each internal device at least 1/2 like Precice. ISKD is probably not used at any of the top 10 centers anymore due to it's faultiness to be a "run-away" nail meaning the ratcheting mechanism can lengthen unintentionally. But yeah monolateral and ring fixators are cheapest but less surgeons are doing femur externals more so just tibia

This surgery is quite young, I am not sure if there is any data about this issue. We don’t want to get taller at young age but get arthritis after 60 years old.
Yeah that's a good concern to have. Although most of all of us will have arthritis by age 65ish anyway lol jk. Gotcha so I personally believe the internal lengthening for femurs is the safest out of all lengthening procedure techniques. No 4 inches in one go is not safe. You would need to split among two surgeries and it depends where you go but it's a very expensive procedure at around $85,000 USD for stryde nail and maybe a bit less elsewhere in world like 60k. But externals on tibias are far cheaper
I'm 20 years old. Now my height is 5.4 inches. It's much shorter as a man. So I have take decision to take surgery. I want to increase 3 inches. Is it possible?
I heard of a method if someone wants 1-3 cm maximum they can do it during the surgery and add bones from the hip area to enhance consolidation and building the gap of 1-3 cm. They also add an internal nail. I have never seen anyone talks about it. But i have been searching and I concluded that it can be possible. Very keen to know if this can work. 3 cm is very satisfying
I think you're thinking of a bone graft but that's used to help a bone heal in the case of a non-union or severely delayed union. Not sure if it's used for actual bone formation in terms of lengthening
@@Cyborg4Life i saw a video in Arabic yesterday and the doctor mentioned this method for people who needs 1-3 cm it can be done. Yeah I met in and accident and both legs femur got fractured and one femur got infected and two times the internal nail was put but still the bone is just infected and it's not haling I have lost 2 inches bcs of infections so now the doctors are gonna do externals for my bone to heal the fracture ..hoping all to go fine
Makes no sence to stay "naturall" in terms of androgenicity and chemistry when you are so enhanced mechanically and physically. Some would even call it doping. What if a runner changed the proportions of his leg depending on if its distance or sprint? Or a javelin thrower her arm proportions?
You mean me in bodybuilding? I don't have any enhancements or are you relating to my LL surgery to fix my discrepancy which fixed my handicap? Anyway LL is definitely not an enhancement by any means trust me

That is a bit too much length for each limb you could plan two surgeries and expect about 4-5.5inches total without being paralyzed. Safety over everything
Hey man I have a question. I am 5ft 5 I am 19 I want to be 6ft when I get to that height what will happen to my body and chest will the still loook the same will I not be able to increase muscle mass . Will be stuck with a short body and long legs cause at 6ft your known to have a long body with a lot of muscle mass for example captain America (Chris evens)
Proportions could be skewed but it's not like you say. The longer your legs you will still be able to build muscle mass and fill them out to look somewhat normal
You won't reach 6 feet SAFELY. Near impossible. Also many tall people have short torso. If basing how you look on Chris evans torso then ofc you'll never look like that. You have to base yourself on someone with long legs and short torso
There is a critical information not being mentioned. Precice 2 internal nails are not weight bearing. In other words, you'll need a wheelchair to get around for months to avoid injury. Only the cheaper LON surgery with external fixators allows you to be mobile quicker.
You have these options 1 - Amputate both of your legs below the knee, and install prosthetics. You will look weird since your arms are very short at 4'10, but the recovery is near-instant and you'll be whatever height you want. 2 - Do the surgery then wear 6 inch lifts. You won't reach 6'2 but you'll be normal height
I would do unimaginable things to be 5’9….. I’m 5’3 and stacking cash fast to get this done… I’m 21 now. Even putting off a house down payment to do this, for now… I can make the money back..

@@Cyborg4Life Hey thanks man really... I would like to ask some more questions.. So do you recommend the precise intramedullary neils or the stryde neils and also will a guy under 18 get to he's 100% easier in order to also compete as an athlete and on the contrary is it harder when over 18. And finally what would the problems be if bone growth wasn't done... Again thanks
Hey victor i have a question is become paralised after this surgery?
Unlikely
You can't change your body type because of LL so you should be good there
will I be able to work them out and develop them or I will have chicken legs forever
@@petroshype1708 Lol no yeah you can add muscle later on with enough quality food and weight training
Great information
Money really can solve anything...
thanks for the info! I got a question,is femur and tibia bone lengthening at the same time possible? (In order to add extra height)
Yeah it is possible but it's kinda risky n painful too
Would you recommend surgery like this to people who are quite tall but have disproportionately short legs?
I don't think that would be wise to do this surgery just for proportion sake. It's expensive, and takes a lot of effort to rehab. The surgery is more useful for those looking to balance limbs or boost stature when very dissatisfied with height
Yo cyborg, do you know if there's any reputable limb lengthening surgeons in LA, or in california in general?
Dr. Mahboubian in LA is really good. He treats lots of patients.
@@Cyborg4Life Thanks man! Also, does every cosmetic limb lengthening cost 75k in the us? If so is it possible to finance the crap out of it since I'm a broke ass mofo who's basically homeless jk haha
@@edxander7169 Lol as far as I know they all do and 75k is probably the lowest you'll find unfortunately. It's ridiculously pricey
@@Cyborg4Life God damnit ;(
You think I can do this without bringing anyone close to me, like will they be able to offer me hospitality, or will I have to pay for hotel, therapy and everything as a separate large bill? D:
I don't want anyone I'm close to or family finding out I would be doing this overly expensive procedure. I don't think they would notice my 3 inches of added height and if they do I'll just tell them that I drank some holy purified water from some fountain or something haha
Oh wow that's crazy yeah it's insane how similar our stories are. Are you healed from the femur fracture?
@@Cyborg4Life yes yes it was back when i was a kid
@@Cyborg4Life did u get lengthening in tibia , if yes then can u describe your experience
EPIC VIDEO !!!
Yes, but it takes a full year to heal and probably two for intense physical activities.
once your bone is broken, it will never be as strong as it once was and another break will most likely occur on where they did your incision. i would be more careful about kicking, but just be wary of how hard you do it
Assuming you are healthy and have good nutrition your bone should heal as it was pre-op. However, it will take time to weight bear enough to regain the same density but within a few years your bone should be as good as new. Rushing back to sport is risky as it can damage things if too soon
Hey sup
Can you do a little info sometimes on implant cost comparison between various external and internal implant. I mean my surgeon says that if I find his pricing expensive he can prescribe the measurements for nail as to length and width of implant but I have a choice to outsource it so it will be nice if we can get a price comparison of various external and internal implants
Thanks
Stay safe

Hi Victor, I have a big question for you. Could you please check if limb lengthening surgery increase the rate of arthritis or any other leg problem at older age? This surgery is quite young, I am not sure if there is any data about this issue. We don’t want to get taller at young age but get arthritis after 60 years old.
There's studies on this for externals. Also the doctors he interviewed said this won't happen if procedure and rehab done correctly.
Yeah that's a good concern to have. Although most of all of us will have arthritis by age 65ish anyway lol jk. I agree on finding out about this but this is still relatively new and research hasn't proved if internal nailing has caused arthritis of any joints in particular. But you can believe I will find out and be sure to let you all know!

Oh really? How is she doing? Was it with ring fixator?

Sorry victor we don't have other choice here in nepal only available external.....
I see. Well they work too
how much money do I need to do an internal lengthening ??? please somebody answer please
about $90,000 USD in US
Hey Vic, quick question.
Could you do an internal in the femur + an internal in the tubular to grow a total of 6 inches?
It might be a possibility but surgeon has to check your bone growth and safety of soft tissues
And lone method considered as internal or exterinal
Both. Lengthening over nail is an internal non-lengthening nail and an external fixator which is removed after lengthening
I dont like the internal ones, I dont think its worth it to sacrifice bone marrow. Id much rather deal with scars
Bone marrow regenerates once nail is removed don't worry it's just fat
@@Cyborg4Life I was under the impression that it was permanently inside your bones, but i still feel aprehensive about that specific procedure

You have these options
1 - Amputate both of your legs below the knee, and install prosthetics. You will look weird since your arms are very short at 4'10, but the recovery is near-instant and you'll be whatever height you want.
