    Very informative and well made video. That syrup infusion is huge for those who like dessert coffees after dinner

    I thought the sweet foam would be a gimmick I’d not use - I chose this over other models for the updated grinder and newer components etc.
    But the sweet foam is SO good. It’s beautifully subtle and the aroma of the syrup really adds a layer of enjoyment to milk beverages.

    You just saved me from a return !!! Thank you Marc !!! at 4:17, you tell me how to disable the "Coffee Eye" here's the "why"... I have a brand new J8, I pulled a single Cortado from it the day I got it home, then turned it off, excited to have my own custom Cortado's in the morning... the problem? When I powered up my J8, it wouldn't show ANY of my Milk based drinks at all, "like" the Coffee Eye had detected a cup... only thing is, I had no cup under the spigot... ??? I spent 2 hours searching the web on "why" it wouldn't display ALL drinks... Ive turned that feature off for now, and I am enjoying a nice Cortado right now... Thanks again!

      This solved my problem. I couldn't figure out why I only have 7 basics on screen and six preparation options. Reading this comment fixed it. Just weird that coffee eye turns off all the other basic preparations. Phew.

    Absolutely great machine, with the glaring exception of the syrup infuser. What a piece of junk for a $3k machine. It doesn't fit snugly and often drops into the drink. It's a very poor design. I modified mine. I added an O ring to compress the plastic sleeve so it would grab tighter to the nozzle. But that meant I had to trim the rubber top. Now it fits securely, but the infuser leaks a bit out of the top. I'll put up with that. Jura needs a quick rethink. Whoever passed this through design needs to actually think about unintended consequences. It should have been designed to screw on or to clip on in some way. A compression fit is just bad, and cannot possibly last long term as plastic parts' elasticity will change over time and constant use.

    Thank you for the great review. I have the problem with cappuccino in Jura. Even if i use the hot cap and put the high temperature in the setting (for coffee, water, milk foam), my cappuccino is not hot enough (125F). Is any additional settings which allows to increase the temperature of Cappuccino. Which Jura models allows to increase temperature to 150F?

    Hey Mark! Love your reviews!
    One question, have you tried using the sweet foam with another Jura machine? I bought the accessory and used on my E8 with some Baileys Irish Cream (due to lack of syrup which I will get tomorrow). It worked well but it did make a bit of a mess around the spout getting a bit of milk exiting on top. As if the machine is placing too much pressure.
    Other than the above, the coffee did take from the aroma and flavour of the cream, but I think the syrup will be much better.
    In general, it seems like Jura are limiting this to the J8 just to make sales, but I like the E8 and don't intend to change it just because of an accessory. What are your thoughts?

      Hey d, Thanks for the love! I have not tried the sweet foam on other Jura Machine. I know the J8 and E8 use the same milk nozzle so you can mount to either machine as you did. I don't know if the J8 modifies steam pressure when using the sweet foam attachment. I love the Baileys but wonder if its thickness is causing the mess. I'm guessing flavored syrup will work better. Let me know how that goes. Thanks!

    I don't see information where you can arrange coffees to be in a particular order. For example, I want my most common 5 drinks on screen 1 on the J8. Can this be done as it can on the E8?

    Does this machine make 'Mocha' (coffee and hot chocolate shot)?
    +

    • @raembes
      @raembes 4 месяца назад +1

      Probably not, it isn't listed at the official product page.
      If your Mocha contains milk you can create a custom drink and add a (chocolate) syrup to it. Put the syrup into the attachment and then brew it with the Sweet Foam function.

    Can you put honey in the sweet foam section?

      Hi IF, I have not tried honey but my guess is it's too thick to work.

      Can always make honey syrup. Just dilute honey with hot water by half

    Coffee Eye sounds like a unnecessary gimmick with a sensor to eventually malfunction. Who is incapable of placing a coffee cup properly. I'd also expect some voice control so you don't have to swipe through the whole menu, even a 3 drink view with an arrow to tap would be better.

    • @peggyjones392
      @peggyjones392 Год назад +3

      You do have the page menu option when viewing the coffee selections. Using the coffee eye is great because it will reduce the number of coffees to view when the cup is placed on the eye.

      Hi SA, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. @peggyjones392 makes a good point on coffee eye. Believe the visual sensor is very reliable. J8 does come equipped with WiFi. You can set up voice control using the Jura JOE app.
