  • Globalization at the Crossroads features renowned Peruvian economist and author, Hernando de Soto. His twenty years of research show that economies prosper only in places where widespread personal property ownership exists-coupled with inclusive, efficient, and transparent business and property law.
This program demonstrates how the West successfully revolutionized its legal systems, property laws, and developed the modern corporation. Other nations that have instituted private property and business reforms, such as post-WWII Japan and present-day China, have seen their economies take off and their middle classes grow. Globalization is the new civilization. But unless we include the 80% of humanity currently excluded from the system, they will bring civilization down, as they have brought down other civilizations in the past.

This is perhaps one of the most positive things I have heard about globalisation. People shouldnt have to move away from their country to have a decent way of living.

Hernando needs to clarify that by Globalization that he means Freedom, democracy, and capitalism for all, not socialism as globalism has come mean. Another word co-opted by the Left. !Bravo Hernando!

Mr. De Soto paints a picture of 1700s Europe that exist only in his mind. I agree witb his view and project, but nobles didn't own enterprises and there were merchants since the beginning of the Middle Ages. Many areas were ruled by merchants, such as Flanders, the Netherlands and Central and Northern Italy

I have nothing against Mr. De Soto but it took twenty years of studying economies to figure out that personal property ownership is essential for wealth and a higher standard of living to prosper. Even if you have never heard of Adam Smith, The last 100 years, this has not been kept a secret...

It took 20 years for Hernando to gather data to determine the value and extent of holdings. Socialists wind up being elitists with special privileges.

Yah, what happens if you let in billions of low skilled workers without a plan to manage downward mobility of workers in the West? You get populism. What choice are you giving workers?

The Globalists are the creators of the 3rd World nations in order to enslave native populations and exploit free resources and economies for centuries ahead, while the middle class continue to call them empathetic humanitarians, animal lovers and climate fixers.
I've always believed that owning Fake Media is much better than printing fiat currency!!!

Problem is very low average IQ and u need the brains to create, invent, plan long term, etc. IQ is highly hereditary.

As soon as he said 89% of the land is owned by small but private companies I went ahead and disliked this video. Is there a problem with average people controlling lands and resources?

I think you misunderstood the point of the statistic. The creators of the film were speaking approvingly of that, that it is a good thing that 89% of the land is held by average people. The producers of the video want to see that ownership honored and respected by the peoples' own governments. Maybe you should have watched more rather than judging in advance?
