The Juans are getting better at picking covers and this time, they took on a rock ballad classic in "Darkness Fell." This gem from the classic lineup of rock gods Wolfgang from the early 90's gets remade by an able millenial pop rock group and the result is way beyond expectations. True enough, this version of "Darkness Fell" by The Juans is now included in the upcoming movie entitled "Sid & Aya" which stars the powerhouse pairing of Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes.

Well sa wolfgang parin ako pero at least ok na rin itong cover na ito para nga maiparinig din natin ito sa mga kabataan ngayon since di na alam ng mga kabataan ngayon ang mga classics na katulad nito.

This is one of those nights where I long for someone to answer my never-ending queries. I can recall a memory back when I was younger where I would be the last one to sleep. I always wanted my mom to stay up and tell me stories but halfway, she closes her eyes. Then I have to spend the rest of the night puzzling how easily people fall asleep. From time to time, I check her breaths because I heard it’s possible to die in your sleep. Oh how calm to see someone slowly leaving reality and heading to dreamland. I grew up but that child is still alive. That child never learn how to rest her eyes. I can’t help but wonder how did those nights find me til here.

After I listened to their version of “Balisong” from 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, once again, I am impressed with this band and the voice of the main singer. Just wow. While this song was playing on that particular scene in the movie (car scene), I thought it’s from a foreign band. The Juans made it possible. The feels tho! ✨✨

this great song is from the legendary band wolfgang. ito yung mga panahon na "in" pa ang mga astig at magaspang na rock bands. bands that write their own songs. nowadays ang nangingibabaw ay pop, soft or cute music, very tamed, just like this version. opinion ko lang naman.
