Bought this my freshman year of high school.Love the vibe of this album even though I really don't understand a lot of the references in the lyrics or the slang they use.Nontheless still sounds great.
my homies use to get pissed at me. i repeated this until the tape popped. They was happy until the next day. lol! I copped another copy on that ass. lol! those were the days though....
From reasonable doubt to Uptown Saturday Night, Ski really defined the sound of a generation as much as DJ Premier, Pete Rock and the Beatminerz did. Wow. Thanks for putting this up!! 👍🏾🔥🔥
Vinny your wax only should not keep getting flagged! This is educational to know where classic hip hop album's original music come from! I'm rep Detroit please do slum village!
Why is it copyright infringement when you're not playing the entirety of the songs? If anything, the original artists should be happy to get the shine, credit, and potentially new fans and buyers. I know I've tracked down and bought some of the oldies because of these videos. Keep 'em comin'!!!!
I am just going to throw in a guess. Possibly he is supposed to give credit to the creator of the song as well in the samples. He is crediting the artist and the song but back in those days, most of the songs were written and produced by someone else and the artist just performed it. Example is when Jackson 5 did their early songs for Motown, it was the Corporation that created the song.
It's in a gray area. He is just showing these songs for demonstration and educational purposes, but even so unless he asked the record label (which he probably didn't), the record label may ask to take this video down whenever they so wish.
Shoutout to SKI Beats for producing all of Uptown Saturday Night. The year before, he made classic heat for Jay Z on Reasonable Doubt (Dead Presidents)
I can't believe I never knew Luchini was sampled. It's still one of the best beats in hip hop history. ..and Coolie High was sampled from Janet Jackson? One of the chillest tracks ever. Where have I been??
I'm STILL bumpin Camp Lo in 2020...I know this is an overused word BUT these cats are soooo underrated. Super talented dudes who have made timeless musics and mad bops!
Vin I swear you're a true national treasure,I love this series, please keep it going and if I had 1 wish I'd love to see a Boogie Down Productions episode
In my personal opinion this is easily one of the Top 5 hip hop albums ever made top to bottom! But then again I'm a Camp Lo loyalist so my opinion may be a bit bias lol. Dope Vid!
DAMN, i want to put in in 5 but I got "Paid in Full", "3Ft High and Rising", "License to Ill", "Illmatic" and "The Low End Theory" definitely ahead of this sooooooo Top 10!
Del S. I’m not mad at your Top 5 fam...all amazing albums...I put Camp Lo there because they were waaaay ahead of their time and that album sonically sounded like nothing else I ever heard before or since.

You just showed the world how greatness is created with the help of our peers. Camp Lo sampled from greatness in a generation before them to create one of the best hip hop albums. Wonderful mix my friend. One of the best dj mix videos on RUclips I've seen in a long time. Keep up the good work my friend.
I'm just getting up on this series. I stared with 93 til Infinity today and now this. Keep up the great work. This is amazing! Also "Coolie High" is one of my favorite songs of all time!

roeintro thats a bold statement
roeintro Ski is still a dope ass producer. Check out the joints that he did for Curren$y
roeintro ski very fuckin underrated! Sick AF
Bold but true. Once you see his finger prints all over all these classic albums you will think the same thing too. (see how I made that rhyme? :)
His Curren$y stuff is flames. When I realized it was him doing all those Pilot Talk albums it all made sense why I was a Spitta fan.
1997 I had my 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix and this album stayed in heavy rotation! This was perfect cruising music and still is!
Camp Lo did a dope Album priceless
Vinny your wax only should not keep getting flagged! This is educational to know where classic hip hop album's original music come from! I'm rep Detroit please do slum village!

It's not the artists bro. It's the record company. Unless the artist owns the masters. They probably don't even get a lot of money off this album now
I loved the way he mixed that coolie high sample with the record
Still play this album
That Cooley High Beat Puts me in a trance!!!
A timeless classic album stays a timeless classic...and yes I still bump these dudes...no one like'em🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shoutout to SKI Beats for producing all of Uptown Saturday Night. The year before, he made classic heat for Jay Z on Reasonable Doubt (Dead Presidents)
