I was at the O's vs Red Sox game. During the rain delay, my cousin was following the Rays vs Yankees game on his phone, and we knew Dan Johnson had tied it before the scoreboard showed that it was 7-7. My cousin yelled out to all the Red Sox fans, "You guys don't know it yet but it's 7-7!"
this was one of the greatest nights in baseball history, i remember being so pissed the yankees lost after being up 7-0 but then realizing it ended the sox season was ecstatic! awesomely done by stuart scott RIP classic stuart!
I love how the Red Sox fans were rooting for the Yankees. Also, it would've been even funnier if the Yankees intentionally lost the game because they hate the Sox that much
Just wanted to say I know this was posted in 2011, but I still always look back to this video being a huge Rays fan and it brings a smile to my face every time. Thank you so much for posting this.
Steve Thompson well I know 2020 isn't looking good for baseball but your Rays are very good now and have a very good future in front of them. I'm an O's fan but never have hated the Rays. They're the only other team in the AL east that I don't mind, and I'll be happy if you guys win a world series
Such an outstanding night of baseball. Van Pelt's greatest quote of the night (followed closely by "I wanna vomit, and I don't have a dog in the fight") was “I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it til I’m dead: sports are better than anything else, always.”
I came here for Stuart Scott. One of the best men to live! But also great feeling remembering that night. Can't help but get emotional. This is why we love sports so much!
July 4, 1985 Mets-Braves was the most epic regular season game I've ever seen. Ended close to 5 a.m. EST. Relief pitcher Rick Camp at the end of his career hit the only homer of his career in the 18th off Mets' Tom Gorman to send it to the 19th. Epic.
"Are you kidding me?" has to be one of the most over-used comments in sports these days. Broadcasters use it all the time--as if they were the first ones who came up with it.
I will never forget that night. Alongside the USA V. Algeria World Cup game, this was one of the most tension filled 2 hours I can ever remember watching and just being blown away by the ending. This is sports at its purest level.
Thanks for posting this, man. This was the best night of baseball I have ever witnessed. Even my fantasy league came down to Matt Kemp's last at bat lol.
This night shall always remind us, despite the PEDs, specialist relief pitchers and babying of young starting pitchers that will destroy the game next after the former, why Baseball will always be called the 'National Pastime". And why also sports is the ultimate reality TV show.
That night was crazy as hell!!! Im glad you put it on here! My Mariners were long gone at that point. I actually saw my first Mariners game at Tropicana like three weeks before and the place was dead!!!! How TB's fans ignore their team for the reg. season n pack it when it counts is stupid!! But that was an awesome night! Thanks for the post!
2011 might have been the best year in baseball this unbelievable game 162... the cardinals clinching the wildcard with no chance of clinching shit come september... and then one the best world series in the history of baseball... a lot to talk about 2011
Forgot Tampa was also down 9.5 games while you guys were down 10 come September first. It had never happened before in baseball history and it just so happened it happened twice in the same year. 2011 will go down as probably my favorite year of baseball ever
Thank you for posting this. As a lifelong Red Sox fan, this is perhaps the only time I was rooting for the Bombers. I remember where I was and what I was doing like it was yesterday. It's certainly not easy to watch, but it's worth re-living nevertheless.
This was an incredible night. The individual games, even the fact they occurred on the same night, were amazing. But what made it so enthralling was the timing with which everything happened. In hindsight, the worst part of the night for me (as a Phillies fan) was beating the Braves once again, leaving the door open for the Cardinals to make the post season. I'm fairly confident the Phils would have won another NLCS and possibly WS
Brian211978 but.... the cardinals and the braves were tied for the wild card on the last day too... and the phillies took the braves to extra innings. all 4 teams were tied up playing for winner take all baseball
Alex B 36 idk the rays and cardinals made the entire month plus these games a great comeback. It's a very close second though, that game was very exciting to watch
I remember that night. I watched those games too. I had two TV's by each other. Amazing night. I'm an Angels fan so I didn't really care who went through. It was still an amazing night of baseball.
I, for one, wanted to get home to watch the BAL/BOS game - which was in a rain delay, allowing for me to get home in time. I regret leaving, of course, but maybe refrain from the ad hominem attacks, my dude. (Also, hello from 2017.)
1. 2 one-run games in the 9th inning / 2. extra innings between PHI & ATL. / 3. epic comebacks in the games and standings...I dont normally watch baseball, but this was unforgettable
I was totally geeking out about someone stealing home, and that was just the beginning of the video. Everything else was just... phenomenal? Just, wow.
im a yankee fan, and i will say hell yeah to this post! Greatest postseason game in baseball history. MAD PROPS TO THE CARDS! You are the epitome of class, winning, and awesomeness.. KINGS OF THE NL!
I was at the O's game where we won. Most of the O's fans stayed to see the result of the Rays Yankees game. When we saw the final score Rays 8 Yankees 7 in 12, the place went nuts. Great night for baseball.
Think about it...a 10 game swing between the two teams in 25 games! Plus the world series. HAS to be the best 7 weeks in baseball history, not to mention the best NIGHT in the history of baseball anywhere!
I had to do a double take at 1:52! I'm a Yankees fan living in New England, and the next day of school after this was one of the best days of the year! :)
this still brings a huge smile to my face. o's have had a winning record at camden and at fenway (camden north) vs. the sox since then. curse of the andino.
What alot of people forget about this night is that the Braves also lost blowing a 8 1/2 wild card lead in September allowing the St. Louis Cardinals to sneak into the postseason and win the World Series that year.
Another "epic" night was the one Red Sox game I got to go to as an adult before moving away. Red Sox Yankees game that went into 14 innings, Home runs a flying! It was in 1984 or 1985.. I think that the final score was 14-13 Yankees or close to that number. WHAT a game! Anyone else who saw that game, or ones here were pretty lucky to be there. One best memory - my brother got us great seats, close to right field where I could so clearly see my then baseball "hero" Dwight Evans! SO many memories we all share, great memories, of some spectacular baseball! Take care!
As a Yankees fan I will admit I was a Tampa fan that nite.. I was at a sports bar with my friends and we were all about the O's & Rays! That's right, I don't mind watching the Yankees lose just as long as Boston doesn't make it to the playoffs. That was one of best days of my life!
5:52 Pretty sure TB Rays' Manager Joe Maddon had the perfect reaction! Definitely the best finale to an MLB regular season and ESPN certainly went gaga because it involved 2 of ESPN's media sweethearts: Yanks and Red Sox. Great upload Padres fan :-)
I remember watching the Red Sox and Orioles game, that was a game there, but that was crazy with the Yankees vs. Devil Rays though, that was one heck of a comeback. In 2011 the pirates also choked.
yea, sorry about your Rangers by the way, as a Giants fan, i know how it feels (Game 6 2002, it was crushing...) probably not quite as crushing as being one strike away though, but you guys are looking solid this year and i'm sure you'll have a good season this year as well, best of luck to you guys (we aren't starting too hot this year ourselves)
Sorry Red Sox bubba, but seeing the Yankees sweeping the Red Sox twice in those two series at New Yankee Stadium en route to the 2009 AL East title was an absolute beauty. In fact, those two sweeps by the Yankees in that part of the season demoralized the Red Sox and got swept by the Angels in the 2009 ALDS. OUCH!
27 World Championships, 30 plus Hall Of Famers you could list. Nobody does it better than the New York Yankees. Nobody doesn't bother than to be Bronx Bombers. Go New York Yankees. Even though this year dosen't look so great, you still got to support your team no matter how bad or great their doing.
yeah, yanks had everything clinched already. Girardi used I think 10 or 11 pitchers this game. All rookies and call ups!!!! Took out the starters too!!! great night though!!!
To this day, you’re right this is the craziest thing I have still seen in baseball, second craziest would be the HOU World Series but now with the trash cans not as crazy I suppose. Glad you shed light on this, feel like this isn’t really talked about and idky!!
Also, the Yankees know how to bounce back from disappointments to win more frequently. It took them five years to overcome the 2004 ALCS Collapse with a title in 2009. Their longest gap in between titles is 18 years between 1978-1996. Compare that to other teams who have longer gaps like the Red Sox who had 86 years, the Giants with 56, the White Sox 88, etc.
This video takes new meaning to me today....... Stuart Scott was highlighting it for us, and today, it means the world.

ONE OF THE CRAZIEST NIGHTS EVER IN BASEBALL HISTORY
Carson Claws any time I hear someone say baseball season is too long, I think of this night.
Just wanted to say I know this was posted in 2011, but I still always look back to this video being a huge Rays fan and it brings a smile to my face every time. Thank you so much for posting this.
Nice, thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Steve Thompson well I know 2020 isn't looking good for baseball but your Rays are very good now and have a very good future in front of them. I'm an O's fan but never have hated the Rays. They're the only other team in the AL east that I don't mind, and I'll be happy if you guys win a world series
Geez, I remeber watching this in awe. Its still unbelieveable today.
Dude you scared the fuck out of me when you popped on the screen
Sorry about that!
Such an outstanding night of baseball. Van Pelt's greatest quote of the night (followed closely by "I wanna vomit, and I don't have a dog in the fight") was “I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it til I’m dead: sports are better than anything else, always.”
"AND THE LORD SAID YOU GOT TO RISE UP" Stuart Scott was an awesome guy to watch. Rest In Peace,Stu.
I came here for Stuart Scott. One of the best men to live! But also great feeling remembering that night. Can't help but get emotional. This is why we love sports so much!
5:09 scared the shit out of me
Me too, i actually turned too see if someone was behind me.
Epic.
You know what's annoying as fuck? You popping your head in saying, "Are you kidding me?"
"Are you kidding me?" has to be one of the most over-used comments in sports these days. Broadcasters use it all the time--as if they were the first ones who came up with it.
I come back to this video every year even though I am a Red Sox fan who lived through that heartbreak. Hope you're doing well.
👍👍👍 Thank you, same to you.
0:43 so weird to see Dellin Betances as a starter lol
I think that attendance for the Rays will go way up and you will see much more fans than ever.
this was one of the best mlb seasons ever.
I will never forget that night. Alongside the USA V. Algeria World Cup game, this was one of the most tension filled 2 hours I can ever remember watching and just being blown away by the ending. This is sports at its purest level.
I'm a die hard yankees fan but I was cheering for the rays lol
This was the only time I actually wanted them to lose to knock out the Sox.
I was up for hours after this. I still can't believe that I stayed up to watch these games and then the replays, so crazy.
297 dislikes are all red sox fans
It could also be people who were annoyed by the guy randomly popping out.
David Hernandez Na...pretty sure most of them are Red Sox fans!!
The A's won 2 - 0 that night! (This is the part where you say "Cool story, bro.").
haha. I was thinking the same thing!
the best season in baseball history... unbeliavable !
Was great ending to season!
"Are you kidding me?" hahaha
I have to agree with you, that night was probably the most amazing night of baseball going on all over.
"Are you kidding me " is all I heard this video lmao
Epic day in baseball!
Thanks for posting this, man. This was the best night of baseball I have ever witnessed. Even my fantasy league came down to Matt Kemp's last at bat lol.

5:12 are you kidding me thats crazy? Lol
2011 might have been the best year in baseball
this unbelievable game 162...
the cardinals clinching the wildcard with no chance of clinching shit come september...
and then one the best world series in the history of baseball...
a lot to talk about 2011

Justin Cummins unless you're a Rangers fan. Feel so bad for them
That World Series Game 6 was unreal!
Thank you for posting this. As a lifelong Red Sox fan, this is perhaps the only time I was rooting for the Bombers. I remember where I was and what I was doing like it was yesterday. It's certainly not easy to watch, but it's worth re-living nevertheless.

This night.... Killed me...
Well, at least the Sox won last year.
That was amazing. I remember watching those games & it was an unbelievable night of baseball. That is why I LOVE this game
I just realized Evan Longoria's homer was basically The Shot Heard 'Round the World Part II
The only time as a Yankees fan that I cheered so loudly to a loss lol
This is crazy. I remember seeing this likely in 2011.
WOW, I think you're right! Totally looks like him. Someone tweet him and ask or maybe someone knows. Is he a Boston fan?
Just watch the MLB 12 intro much more entertaining to watch.... Purely Amazing!
I think the Yankees lost on purpose so the sox
Didn't make the playoffs
5:10 scared the fuck out of me
Edit: I posted that when it happened, 9:04 just scared the dog shit out of me too
I miss Stuart Scott :(
Thank you! My wife keeps talking about moving to the burbs and I don't want to go YET! A few more years downtown would be great by me. :)
Why didn't you show the highlights of the Cardinals clinching the NL Wild Card
because the video you were watching was the drama of 2 different games going on at the same freaking time!
James Costello And that ended three minutes apart!!
Brian211978 but.... the cardinals and the braves were tied for the wild card on the last day too... and the phillies took the braves to extra innings. all 4 teams were tied up playing for winner take all baseball
@@DBEENE123 That Braves collapse started the Chokeland in Atlanta until today
5:10 "are you kidding me, that's crazy" holy shit that cracked me up... i had no idea you were taping your tv and you were in the room
But now the 2014 AL Wild Card Game is number 1... Right?
That was a pretty amazing game!
Maybe if the Royals didn't get shut down by Bumgarner later... haha
Alex B 36 idk the rays and cardinals made the entire month plus these games a great comeback. It's a very close second though, that game was very exciting to watch
That was hilarious that you came into the screen saying, "are you kidding me thats crazy."
it was annoying how he kept saying "are you kidding me"
Are you kidding me
Prideofthepacific808 fuck off
I come back to this video once a year
buccaneers year this year, lets go tampa
Well, 5 years later and you have Tom Brady
I remember this. Thanks for documenting...I felt (at the time) the same way you did.
+Rob Keller it was an incredible night of baseball, too bad my Padres still stink!!!
Go padres
I remember that night. I watched those games too. I had two TV's by each other. Amazing night. I'm an Angels fan so I didn't really care who went through. It was still an amazing night of baseball.
Typical Rays fans leaving early...pathetic.
I, for one, wanted to get home to watch the BAL/BOS game - which was in a rain delay, allowing for me to get home in time. I regret leaving, of course, but maybe refrain from the ad hominem attacks, my dude. (Also, hello from 2017.)
Casey Peterson Maybe refrain from getting butthurt over a 2 and a half year old comment, my dude.
:-*
RCT3dude247 hey buddy
With those 2 HRs, I have never been so proud to share a name with that man.
I like the spontaneous "Are you kidding me?" throughout the video.
1. 2 one-run games in the 9th inning / 2. extra innings between PHI & ATL. / 3. epic comebacks in the games and standings...I dont normally watch baseball, but this was unforgettable
Without a doubt, the greatest day in Major League Baseball history!
Both Scotts, Orioles magic, Red Sox suffering. What a magical day
I agree, this was definitely one of the craziest nights in baseball.
5:10 is my favorite part "Are you kidding me??? That's crazyyy!!!! hahahaha
i think i might've found a new sport to watch and follow when the NBA ain't around. nice vid bro!
Maddon is an evil genius, lol! That was a night no baseball fan is going to forget for a long time.
Ya know, I watched the Yankee game and was only briefly following the Sox game but you're right. That WAS one hell of a final night for baseball.
Rest in peace Stuart Scott
"Most Epic Night of Baseball I have Ever Seen" Id hate to see a dull night of baseball.
I was at the O's game where we won. Most of the O's fans stayed to see the result of the Rays Yankees game. When we saw the final score Rays 8 Yankees 7 in 12, the place went nuts. Great night for baseball.

good to hear stuart scott on espn highlights
i just love how espn shows you the final scores of the same games you're watching highlights of
Nice Yoda in the back! Those are rare! My humanities teacher in high school had one in a glass case. They're sweet!
I had to do a double take at 1:52! I'm a Yankees fan living in New England, and the next day of school after this was one of the best days of the year! :)
this still brings a huge smile to my face. o's have had a winning record at camden and at fenway (camden north) vs. the sox since then. curse of the andino.
Let's go O's!. That's what started Orioles magic (until we sucked again in 2017-2019 and now
No doubt!! I almost shed a tear over that one. Nice consolation to end bad season #14.
What alot of people forget about this night is that the Braves also lost blowing a 8 1/2 wild card lead in September allowing the St. Louis Cardinals to sneak into the postseason and win the World Series that year.
i remember this too tho! that was crazy! as a fellow small market fan, im sure u loved it too
As a Rays fan this was one of my favorite days of baseball ever
those 2 games were the craziest 4 games you've ever seen? Epic baseball night
i watched the entire game of both of these games. One of the most excited nights ive ever had...
The Cards were the only ones who took care of business this night. What a night in MLB.
And carried that all the way to a World Series title that season!
I saw that Rays comeback game! Couldn't believe it!
It was an incredible night of baseball
I also prefer MLB Network over ESPN.
The reactions from Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac on that night were absolutely priceless.
Awesome video! Did you change your mind after game 6 of the world series?
5:52 Pretty sure TB Rays' Manager Joe Maddon had the perfect reaction! Definitely the best finale to an MLB regular season and ESPN certainly went gaga because it involved 2 of ESPN's media sweethearts: Yanks and Red Sox. Great upload Padres fan :-)
And this is just part of it - Cards winning NL wild card spot on final day, too
I remember watching the Red Sox and Orioles game, that was a game there, but that was crazy with the Yankees vs. Devil Rays though, that was one heck of a comeback. In 2011 the pirates also choked.
Dude, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Who's your team?
I'm an MLB fan, really. But I'd say the Halos is the team I spend more time rooting for.
yea, sorry about your Rangers by the way, as a Giants fan, i know how it feels (Game 6 2002, it was crushing...) probably not quite as crushing as being one strike away though, but you guys are looking solid this year and i'm sure you'll have a good season this year as well, best of luck to you guys (we aren't starting too hot this year ourselves)

Yeah, stil remeber this. What an epic day of baseball.
My cousin is a trainer for the Rays and I'm a Red Sox fan. What a coincidence. He also played in the minors for Boston.
The Cleveland game against Seattle. Best comeback of all time.
