The Chinese minis I have seen advertised near me usually have a Briggs engine around the 7 to 10 hp range? I wonder if a guy could just re-power it with a harbour freight engine around 15 hp and not bog the engine so much
Try returning the oil from the motor directly to the reservoir. Sometimes returning it through the valves and piping causes a restriction. Lots of farm equipment that use a hydraulic motor have a third no restriction return circuit called a motor return line circuit.
This is going to be an awesome build . Can’t wait to see the next step !!👍🏻
I like this! I have a Chinese mini, I have a farm with all kinds of stuff laying around. I love tinkering, can’t wait to see more!

The Briggs in these units are actually 13.5 horsepower. The predator engines from Harbor Freight bolt right in place as a replacement.

Thanks I may give that a try with a temporary return to see if it helps.
Case drain, the oil tank should have another port welded in already for it.
Any idea what the motor came off of or is there a number on it. Im looking for something similar for mine
I got it at a yard sale a long time ago. I can see where a tag was but it's long gone before I got it.
