This movie is a feast for the eyes,if you like pre gentrified early 1970s NYC.The cars,the clothes,the locations,even the vintage advertising make this one of my favorite movies.
This chase scene is dope. Its so well shot. Just the fact that it's in my hometown of NY, where chases like this on extremely crowded and narrow streets, is hardly ever done [right]. And the fact that there's no score, no accompanying music... just the sounds of the vehicles... just makes it even more of a masterpiece.

Was young then, got to experience this great place and time
I was there one winter 1972-73 Saturday when they filmed some of this action about 4-5 blocks north of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown.
I love classic cars in NYC and the location.

No, Opel Kadett. If you look very carefully you can see the words OPEL spelled out just above the driver's side turn signal in the grill.
