He lived his passion. Aged 16 he was already so much better than all players under 20. A lot of advantage comes from the way his body is built. His body is different from the others, his body weight center lies much lower than that of the others which makes it easy for him to keep the ball and to manoever around the other players. But also incredible talent, very high playing intelligence and insane dedication for this sport that simply made him one of the best soccer players in history.

Messi is super dribbler and passer with amazing "clear" technique and ball controll, he is super goalscorrer! ("thanks, captain obvious!"(c))
But most of all I like the way his BRAIN works. When he passes through balls - you see that he has unique football brain that can "read mind" of a striker that makes the run (or going to make the run)! I dont think you can teach this "skill" (i dont think Messi himself can describe why he passes this way but not that way. It's instinct. You just cant think THAT fast. It hasto be an instinct), but youth team coaches must show these passes for their young football players on regular basis! And stop the video right before Messi's pass, and ask every one: "where should you pass the ball in that situation if you would be Messi?". I bet that only few would give the right answer! Many times you see the best direction of pass only after Messi've made that pass. And we watch football with a better sight on a big TV screen and see almost every player on the pitch. And he makes the decision like in milliseconds being on the pitch. That is Genius.

  • @gatesurfer

What’s actually really cool here is the camerawork. He’s followed much more closely than his professional career. Must be by a family member or an agent? And a lot at ground level. You can sense how much quicker he is in every aspect of the game, but especially his decision making. He knows exactly where to play the ball, when to burst, when to control. Just a total package at this point.
Steve Nash was a great basketball player and a very good soccer player. He worked for awhile as an assistant coach to Steve Kerr with the Golden State Warriors during their first championship run, and Steph Curry would give him a lot of credit in his development. It would be interesting to see if Messi could coach basketball or even American football. Spatial awareness is very important in both games, and Mess has it in spades.
