Thanks for going into more detail. A lot of the other Komplete 15 videos I have Watched just mentioned chords and phrases. I appreciate that you actually took the time to demonstrate how they generally work. Also appreciated the solo of the different parts in Vocal Colors & Kithara. Maybe you could do a video with your favorites from each version on Komplete?
00:54 - fable + kithara etc are only on the extremely expensive collector edition. (so dont be disappointed if not there.) A number of other things he refers to as "komplete 15" aren't on Standard, or on Ultimate. CE only.
Ozone 11. Kontakt 8, Guitar Rig 7 Pro, aside from new instruments (Massive X, the Conflux synth and all the rest) what other things were you expecting? There's the Izotope stuff like Trash and VocalSynth (and Ozone 11), the Raum reverb, lo-fi FX, multi mode delay, And yes, a vast number of sample packs.
Great review! Really trying to see if I want to upgrade from 14 UCE to 15 UCE or whether I can wait for next year and do the upgrade to UCE 16 then and just get the new Kontakt now.
Started with Komplete 9, upgraded to ce, and have been updating ce up to my current 14. I’ve bought a few NI products a la carte along the way. It’s easy to fall down a rabbit hole with Komplete. I’m gonna upgrade to Kontakt 8 but probably won’t upgrade my ce anymore unless they release something I just have to get. 🎹💙
hi and thanks for a good video about Komplete 15👍 I wonder one thing? can i use light guide on my Komplete kontrol mk49 with kontakt 8? thanks for a good channel👍 with kind regards Thomas
Man, I was hoping you'd pick and sample the Valves Pro sound. I'm looking for a realistic brass sounding app. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the help you give brother! Priceless.
£449 for me to update Komplete 14 CE to Komplete 15 CE I paid £67 in Nov 23 for session percussionist I paid £70.70 in Dec 23 for guitar rig pro 7 I’m currently being told I can upgrade to Kontakt 8 for £89 I can’t think of anything else new in K15 CE that I really would like, I still have a ton of stuff from K14 CE I haven’t even got around to looking at yet.
Hmm. I’m still on 13 standard and see nothing much to continue future upgrades. Each to their own but it seems to be becoming more like an arranger keyboard that plays itself. The only thing I do want is to upgrade Kontakt at some point but will wait for the sale. I’m sure the upgrade prices have gone up substantially too. I feel like it used to be £99 and now they want £199. Nope.
Already bought the one instrument, that was of interest to me, at a sale, which was Session Percussionist. For the rest (Kithara, choir, Alicias electric etc) i already have lots of better stuff. So only question is, if i do the upgrade to full Kontakt 8 for 99,- to have the new features not only in the free kontakt player 8 but for the tons of full kontakt libraries, which are the majority of my kontakt lib collection, as well.
@@JamesLloydKeyboardist Yeah, thats right. So much stuff in 14 I've never used so far. But Kontakt 8 is worth the upgrade. As the platform for a huge pile of libraries, that really pays off more than probably any ther plugin ;)
@@breitbanddesign I also bought session percussionist a la carte, and their newest bass thingy on sale. It stings a little when what we want is released after we upgrade our kompletes, but then the sale makes it almost all better. 🎹💙
@@JamesLloydKeyboardist Hehe, in fact that's how I often start new tracks by just looking on my pile of shame to choose unused plugins. It's like painting with a limited palette. ;)
Been a Komplete user for many years. Upgraded to Kontakt 8 only. Pretty much done with NI. Moved on to Arturia, Softube and Halion. Most of my orchestral libs are offering their own plug-ins with clear simple interfaces. The Komplete/Kontol bit is still a jumbled mess of mostly useless rompler patches. I find the midi pack, chord tools stuff pointless. Layering ever more clever graphics on top of the actual workable user interface in Kontakt is unhelpful. I don’t need cartoon dice for inspiration. I do not welcome workflows that seem primarily focused on selling me ever more packs and libs curated by some dj of the moment. And the schilling for NI on RUclips is over the top. I find this ‘update’ is little more than shameless money grab.
Nice vid. IMHO you should mention that most of your chosen instruments are included in Ultimate version (not in the Standard one). Pity... I am not going to upgrade from Komplete 14 Standard. 199 EUR for usual things are not worth (IMHO again). I am not interested in automatic ways to play chords. Just as with new Arturia controllers. Maybe in case NI makes a discount for Black Friday or similar... Thanks anyway for your competence.
They always do a Black Friday discount, and that's what I'm waiting for. In general all the digital music companies put their things on sale and unless you need them *this week* it's always better to wait for the sale.
On Windows, komplete 14 disapointed me, a lot. I still like the effects though but kontakt + komplete really slowed down my workflows. is Kontakt 8 faster to start / load presets ?

Nice review Mike - looking forward to playing with the chords feature which is also included in the free Kontakt Player
Thanks, very good demo.
Can't wait for the Black Friday sale!

won‘t happen before summer 2025
It also has MPE mode. Personally I'm liking UVI and Falcon more so I'll have to think about upgrading.
UVI is way better
Is Kontakt 8 the only new thing in Komplete 15? I already have Komplete 14 CE and I have way more VST's than I can ever master in a lifetime ;o)
That's why I'm on 12 and not barging. I'll wait for 16. I was on 8 b4 jumping to 12.

I've been impressed with the 8dio/Soundpaint brass, which is currently on a great bundle sale.

I've Kontakt 7 full version and Komplete 14 Select. I feel scammed from upgrading from 6 to 7 and now seeing 8. It's a shame NI did that.
Unfortunately vocal colors and Kithara are not in the standard version of Komplete :-(
😢
Tell me editing of scales is available

Session Percussionist won't allow you to drag & drop midi?
No. UVI's Percussion Factory does allow it. It's the closest competitor to it.
Nah , they definitely dropped the ball this time around. Maybe they’ll do something great with 16
