I don’t think DRAM ssd have any use for storing data even HDD is better for viewing photos and Videos. If you are editing then SSD can improve loading speed and more snappy otherwise for storage you can go with any DRAM LESS SSD
I've been using a 128gb Kingston SSD sata ! I don't even know if it has DRAM or whatsoever. And now it's been 13 years I've not faced any performance issues ! Windows & all other apps load pretty quick !

HDD can give upto 70-100MBPS. Even my old laptop gives more than 30MBPS. But still SSD is faster and more energy efficient then older hard disk technology.

To have WD Blue NVMe ssd with some SATA adapter in my older thinkpad e470 (dont have dedicated ssd slot) I dont want to invest in sata ssd (anyway costs same) as in future I can still use this NVMe SSD to its full potential in some other future laptop. I am blocked as many mentioned SATA adapter dont work with NVMe. Need help with expert suggestion to know how feasible this soultion would be?

DRAM less SSD may cause shutdown issues in your laptop mainly, main problem in shutdown issues is "when you try to shutdown your laptop/windows the system showing shutdown normally but after shutdown your power button blinking light is always on/blinking it shows your computer is not shutting down properly and you have to use long press power button shutdown mathod, Even if you reinstall Windows, this problem will not be solved, sometimes RAM compatibility problems can also be the reason for this problem, but most of the times there is a problem with the boot drive. So use DRAM SSD

This is so true, I had issues with Crucial BX500 because it doesn't have DRAM. I would often get windows freezing and crashing and the only fix was to reinstall windows. So he's right, dont but DRAMless SSD, even though its cheap.

Cruicial has the software. If you have 16 GB RAM, then SSD can use your RAM memory to speed the copying process.

This is so true, I had issues with Crucial BX500 because it doesn't have DRAM. I would often get windows freezing and crashing and the only fix was to reinstall windows. So he's right, dont but DRAMless SSD, even though its cheap.
