solid gentleman! more of you and the real! comedy and politics is like my other favorite, comedy and horror. the scares keep you awake, and the laughing keeps you alive! thanks Trevor and full staff of all these sweet doses of sanity!!!
Americans want justice and it's leaders to be held at a high standard. No corruption! And we want healthcare for all, clean air and water, living wage, secure but compassionate immigration laws.
R Robin Yes.
Bernie 🔥💥🌶💥🔥
The first step to the prison problem is to get rid of the private companies that build and run them. There is way too much "profit" to be had with a private prison system, with a captive "customer" that can't do anything about the way they are being treated.
Hakeem is the goods. Succinct, knowledgeable and to to point. He doesn’t mess about.
When any politician says "access" to healthcare they should be done. Full stop.
I have "access" to a mansion and a new Ferrari, that does not mean I get one.
Listen for it, when you hear "access", they are not in it for you.
People are getting wise to your access line and we are not going to fall for it any more.
Are you high
Or incredibly stupid?
Chris Warren that’s why Bernie is right. Medicare for all is the on,y option. N these incremental steps are bs. Just do Medicare for all and call it a day. You can’t negotiate with these greedy insurance companies.
I completely agree. There is only one real option anymore. We have lots of systems to base it off of, but our current system is not sustainable. Eventually all the old boomers will be gone and we can get around to a system that benefits us all, but I sure hope it's sooner than that.
Or maybe access means access.
@@anonmouse6337 Everyone has access to healthcare now. The question is what are you willing to pay for it. People can get deep into debt so they can get healthcare but they have access to it. Don't be obtuse.
“Access to healthcare” does not mean Medicare for All. This is how centrist try to appear progressive but really have no intentions of changing the system... access means available not single payer
Also uses the word “affordable”
@transylvanian I 100% agree
Currently, this is a plutocratic oligarchy, not a representative democracy.
Came back to this page after Hakeem just became speaker. He will make an excellent one. Nancy endorsed him for several reasons!
We’re not for lowering healthcare costs and strengthening the ACA. We are for #MEDICARE4ALL
I hate that vague answer to the question about Medicare for All. Bernie 2020 FTW!
#Bernie4Life
Jonathan Taylor then Bernie and his sympathizers are it.
They are for the Green New Deal, medicare for all, universal basic income.
One should not need to pick ONE topic. Must pick ALL topics.
"access to healthcare" same old bullshit response.
“Bernie 2020”. That would be great, but I just don’t see it.
Many states have policies that have questions on applications that go against ex con 's ability to get a job. An Ex- felon has a really hard time getting a job anywhere.
I agree. Even those exonerated have to put that on an application!
#BanTheBox
$hit, having a blank period on your resume makes it difficult to get a decent job.
As in "should I tell the interviewer that I wasn't in prison like she accused me, because I was recovering from almost being killed by a drunk driver in an attempted hit and run ???"
Facts
@@davidhollenshead4892 Yes, tell her that.
Healthcare is a right!
Damn right.
FDR wanted to put that in the Constitution.
If someone serves time for their crime, then it should be done. To have it come up on reports and job applications is ridiculous. It's like the Scarlett Letter. You can never really get rid of it.
And what is worse than being an ex-con is having a suffered a pre-existing condition, like almost being killed by a drunk driver...
Unfortunately, there are many jobs and career paths where jail time is righteously a red flag. The real question is not were you in, but what were you in FOR? I'd hire a pot smoker (and share my stash with him,) but I would rather not hire a rapist, even if those darn Democrats let him just walk across the border...
Once you prove yourself, many careers will be fine with it. Some (rapper, Republican politician) even demand it - how's your singing chops?
But you are correct, it will always be with you, which is why the GOP made sure to incarcerate as many kids as possible - all that competition for THEIR kid just -removed. Like at college...
Yeah, I agree that it should be irrelevant except for certain crimes and certain jobs. I'd want to go super cautious with people who take care of young children, for instance, and if you're a multiple time violent or sex offender I still care and probably don't want you around, though I could be convinced if someone established vouches for them and they come across as trustworthy. I also feel like committing financial fraud should disqualify you from being a banker, etc... Being banned from specific professions is reasonable for a lot of crimes, but I don't want people to be utterly unemployable. Tbh I think we really need a whole culture shift where people are willing to consider ex-felons seriously as applicants, especially if they can explain their crime and how they've moved past it. The best start would be to ban having that "are you a felon/have you committed crimes" checkbox on applications-- I think people shouldn't be obligated to disclose their past until they've at least finished the interview stage. Job offers can be made contingent on background check.
Do you know where Trump got his facts for his infamous quote that 'They (illegal immigrants) are rapists'? In 2016 Trump told CNN that he got that information from a Fusion article entitled "Is rape the price to pay for migrant women chasing the american dream?" (I looked it up, now you can too). In that article it states that as much as 80% of central american illegal immigrant women are raped as they make their way across Mexico. Why? Because as illegal immigrants they are unprotected, they make easy victims who cannot report without risk of being deported to the countries that they fled persecution from. Sadly, illegal immigrants are also the most vulnerable part of the population in the US to being made victims of crime, for the exact same reason. Studies show that illegal immigrants are also the statistically LEAST likely part of the population to commit crimes. Again, because for many being deported may be a death sentence. The fact that Trump succeeded in convincing a vast majority of the american public that victims of rape should be called rapists, because NO ONE bothered to read the article he cited blows my mind. Two years later and his 'bass akwards' inflammatory speech remains a point of contention only because it seems 'racist'. Nobody bothers to point out that it is also dead WRONG.
Let me correct the original speech of lies that got him into office:
"Mexico DOESN'T 'send' people. They don't send their best OR their worst to the US. People are FLEEING Mexico and Central American countries. They are fleeing lots of problems, and they ARE bringing the trauma of those problems with them. They are fleeing drug dealers. They are fleeing corruption and crime. They are fleeing rapists. And some, I assume ARE bad people. The U.S. has NOT become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems.
The U.S. is dealing with a massive influx of refugees fleeing atrocity and murder because WE made a promise to the Jewish people after WWII that never again would we turn our backs on the atrocity of genocide, ANY genocide, regardless of whether or not the people being murdered are Jewish, or Guatemalan. We are not alone in this promise. Most of the Allies of WWII has made this same promise. We are also NOT unprotected. The US is unquestionably the strongest military and Intelligence force in the world. We are the most secure country in the world."
There, fixed. Now just add some commentary about how this creates jobs, improves relations, activates a work force, protects our moral religious duty, and demonstrates to the world how the US military and Intelligence and wealth can be activated to do GOOD, and Trump could still have won his republican votes by appealing to the better values of the Republican party. Instead he has done his best to convince the strongest country in the world that we are weak, and that we need to make our entire country into a panic room.
@@thesoundsmith AGREED! i worked with kids for years and it's always sad to see ADULTS try to treat them as if they have the same reasoning as adults!?! LOL...and share your stash...X DDD...blessings!
Bernie Sanders 2020! #FeelTheBern
Isn't it a breath of fresh air listening to that man speak. Then listen to Donald trump.
Your bar is really low. Jefferies is a disgusting shill
Saying that you incarcerate more people than any other country is an understatement. China has fewer prisoners, but four times as many citizens. The only country that is even close to the US when it comes to imprisoned people per capita is Russia (which should tell you something), the third country on the list, Ukraine, has less than half the rate that the US has.
20% of the worlds prison population are in the US. 4% of the worlds population in general live in the US.
That says a lot about good ol' US of A! Worse track record than both Russia & Ukraine 😂😂😂😂
"Strengthen the Affordable Care Act". Wrong answer.
This was a good interview. Trevor ask good questions.
Like your blood system, the economy rests on the concept that money must flow constantly, not creep off to avoid taxes, or collect in obscene amounts in the control of a tiny percentage of the population. It's time to encourage that flow, and to prevent its accumulation in one place. That's elephantiasis. Tie a rubber band around your wrist and see how long your hand stays on! That's economic exclusion. The Swiss (pretty good with money so they say! ) give money to everyone in the country, just to see it get pumped around through commerce. Unfettered Capitalism can create economic disease, cut people out of the circulation process, and kill the host, like it would in any body with a blood flow.
Exactly. And to add to your point is that businesses to pop up in places that have no purchasing power but in areas where the people are able to actually buy things. Giving a tax break to the wealthy is not going to stimulate the economy but giving it to the middle class would have them buy things which stimulates the economy.
I love Bernie is so awesome is been fighting for us forever
They were speaking soo fast at the beginning, then I found out
I put it on fast mode while listening an audiobook 😆
Lol
!😄
This guy's transformation from comedian to a real journalist is remarkable smooth and instant.
@Kenneth Thompson -This Trump Russian bot is malfunctioning !!! Sad
You have to be kidding. He's a mouthpiece for the democrats and the rich billionaires that run the media.
He knows his stuff so well!
I love you trevor
damn, man. respect.
I need to speak with my Senate.
Find me. Protect me and Billy.
Please.
Help me save the country and I'll speak out.
He is One of many....
I would love to see a program on electoral college vs eliminating it. I find it a confusing subject and you have a way of finding someone to clear things up.
"access to coverage" doesn't mean you can afford it! I can't even afford Medicare costs.
Why doesn't the government just manufacture the drugs? That would employ thousands of people and save lives.
There are patents that forbid it, and I bet some people would find the idea an attack on freedom.
There are countries in which government entities produce generic versions of medicines to be used in state clinics and for sale in farmacies as an alternative to the expensive patented ones. Then, as big chain drugstores profit according to sales, they pay the salespeople on a commission basis only, so they are forced to promote the expensive medicines and even deny the existence of the cheap ones in order to earn a regular salary.
There are so logical and beneficial things that get nearly impossible to achieve due to human greed.
Greetings from Chile. We have spent years trying to correct the situation. Some municipalities have opened popular drugstores, and there are chain drugstores specializing in generic medicines. I bet you can do it too. :-)
@@MariaMartinez-researcher Thank you for informing us about Chile's experience with pharmaceutical production, pricing, and sales. It's always helpful to have real world examples to analyse beyond arguing over theories and speculation. In the US the government National Institute for Health NIH is often the agency that paid for and conducted all the research that created the drug. Bad politics in the US has lead to the NIH giving the patent to private manufacturers for pennies or nothing. In the US if "there are patents that forbid it", its because crooked politicians wrote the laws that way.
I hate to say it but the brother is bought...corporate establishment talking points. As soon as the "access " is used the conversation is over.
Right! I don't want access to affordable healthcare, I want Healthcare! If I need to go to the hospital, I want to be automatically covered by giving my name and ss#. I can call a dr. and make an appointment, knowing I'm already covered. All other choices are nonsense!
LIKE THIS POLITICIAN good man
that's just hope everything he said is true because at the end of the day Democrats 9X out of 10 or a part of the common Man and sometimes on the common man get ahead in life they don't help out the other common Man but they still do a lot better for the common man than the rich man he definitely step on the common man's necks💯
We don't want access to coverage...no more health insurance. Sorry man but you lost me as soon as you said access.
One step at a time, they won't be able to tear the system down in one night, they'll change it brick by brick. Or else you'll have one clusterfuck and go back to the good old over priced insurance.
I like this fella.
Jeffries is great for our country
I like this man. The dem's are brave and getting braver. Good seems to almost always come out of evil with us humans.
We are not a democracy we are a republic
We live in a Republic, not a democracy. I really wish people in congress knew the form of governance they were participating in.
The handshake at the end😂💯👌
Im tired of corporate Democrats. Im glad bernie is distancing himself from the party a bit. Many people feel as though democrats havent done enough and pretend like they care. (Im still a democrat tho)
Democrats will work for the American people not bow the knee to trump !
Medicare for all. #Bernie2020 #getmoneyoutofpolitics
Watching after house speech
I wish there was more time for followup on the last question. I would have asked if that "access to healthcare for all Americans" had always been the foundation, or if it has shifted recently. And to be clear, he is saying he supports a government option because it is more likely to pass?
2.2 million incarcerated?? That's the entire population of my country!!! ☺️☺️☺️😱😱
Damn Mr Noah you are fiiiiiiiiiiiine!!!!!!!!😍😂
You must have low standards. Trevor is lazy. Lazy men get no respect from me. Why do liberals never want to debate me? Are you scared of me? I'd blow them out of their asses.
When you consider how many in the Trump administration have broke the law and are in or are heading to prison they now have a vested interest in helping those Incarcerated
Brother talks like a robot..
Just watching one of your videos😍
He evaded the question of medicare for all. Must not want to upset his corporate sponsors
So, sounds great, a fight for life-saving drug costs. What about life maintaining. I have been with diagnosed bipolar disorder and am on disability and Medicare. I can't afford a Plan D, and my scripts are $1100 a month, therefore I have to rely on my elderly mother's estate 2 assist me in living. I cannot live independently any longer. Why not go for all the drug inflation?
If ya didn't know, now ya know!! Rep Jeffries had Trevor start that Biggie Smalls/Notorious BIG segment on the DS. Know ya know 😄
The Daily Show news and comedy for ages 10-16.
Remember when they said the Russians would influence the 2018 midterms? Yeaaaaaah...
Am going to hit the Jack pot #wish me luck

I like him.
Media Never calls it what it really is. this is the prob
This for this video. As I was listening I was picking up some familiar frequencies from Hakeem so I looked up the birthday energy he share the same frequency of President Barack Obama. Things that make you say Hmmm.

A public supporter of SOPA. Nuff said.
I know this out of topic but Hakeem is so handsome!
Wow. zero cheers. Zero clapping
Doesn't say he wants to work together with Bernie, just quotes Bernie's platform word-for-word when asked about healthcare.
🙌👏💛😊
Lot of hot air from Hakeem Jefferies. 😴
I thought Jeffries was a corporate democrat. No use asking him anything. He lives under Nancy's skirt.
See my man trevor, see me click away
DA vs ANC
Not the country richest ever and which accounting column does stolen labor and assets go on the national balance sheet?
the world is laughing at trump and at you as well trevor.
SADF
So trump is going to give the police and military a mega raise and just not leave the office right? We see what law enforcers are willing to do for a paycheck already. I could see him try at least.
I Love and agree with all my democrat leader's goals and agendas. Now we need to work together and get on the same page and vote out the orange buffoon out of office !
"My brother had a book he would hold with pride. A little red cover with a broken spine. On the back he hand wrote a quote inside "when the rich wage war it's the poor who die". Meanwhile the leader just talks away, studdering and mumbling for nightly news to replay. The rest of the world watching at the end of the day are both scared and angry like "what did he say"--Mike Shinoda
They look like brothers from the same mother ...... at least in thumbnail.
Love You Brothers and sisters for Pure sake of ALLAH 💝
Trevor Noah allowing Hakeem Jeffries to lie with no pushback smh Jon Stewart is rolling around in his grave.
Jon Stewart isn't dead.
Sorry I started thinking of other things while he was talking.
Bernie2020!
HE SAYS RICHES COUNTRY IN THE HISTORY OF THE PLANET... THEN SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE.... NO FOOL.! WE NEED FREE HEALTHCARE THE COUNTRY IS RICH FROM THE BACKS OF ITS CITIZENS LEAST A COUNTRY CAN DO IS TAKE CARE OF ITS CITIZENS.
YANG2020
Please get Andrew Yang on your show.
*GET MONET OUT OF POLITICS???*
Uhh...Well hold on....We made an amendment so we can begin to start thinking about some potential options that can be made available in the future for opening a discussion we're both Democrats and Republicans can come to the table to establish a platform on trying to get unregulated money away from politics.
😴💤
Get Andrew Yang on for a real interview
I’m sure he’s a nice guy but he has pageant answers. He’s saying what everyone is a saying, but he’s not relatable. Unlike Pete Buttigieg who clearly articulates in a way that’s easily digestible which makes him really stand out amongst everyone else.
4:35 just in case anyone else was wondering about this ( i know i was)
so the guy said that the number of jailed ppl in the US went from less than .35 million in 1971 to 2.2 million in 2019. I was like d*mn, but then i wondered: what if the number of ppl incarcerated in the us went up only because our overall population did? so i set up some ratios (if you dont understand the math it's ok i'll explain what it means)
these are the numbers i used (in millions):
328.5514 (current pop. in usa)
207.7 (1971 pop. of usa)
2.2 (current pop. in usa in confinement)
.35 (1971 pop. of usa in confinement)
MATH TIME!!! :P
328.5514 - 207.7= 120.8514
120.8514 / 207.7 ≈ .58
.58 x 100 = 58%
2.2 - .35 = 1.85
1.85 / .35 ≈ 5.29
5.29 x 100 = 529%
so, from 1971 to 2019, the usa population in confinement has gone up by 529% while our overall population went up by just 58%.
sigh. god help america
oh btw, please like my comment man . everyone deserves to see this awesome math plus my cool *ss approximately symbol ≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈
Is he running for Pres?
I like Barbara Lee, not this corporate tool!
"Access to Medicare"?? We have access... Its the money tgats the problem. These guys are sleezy and Jimmy Dore would not have let him slide with that!
Lots of doctors will not take Medicare. That needs to change.
