Thanks! I just bought the trim.. I bought finish nails since I did not watch your video until I got home. Do you think better to use the liquid nails? Also, guess I need to go back for the caulking too! Now to get started on the project!
I too framed my much needed, out dated 80's mirros in my 3 bathrooms. Made a huge difference like your parent's. FYI TIP: to make the frame flush against the mirror where the clips and hardware is holding the mirror against the wall, I just used my dremel tool to carve out a little area on the back of the frame where the clips and screws were. Measure the tiny little sections, sand it down with the dremel and it will lay flush. Sounds intimatiting but it was super easy and quick.
AWESOME Debidewdrop! I was wondering if she did anything about those clips....those darn clips are the reason I've been putting off framing my mirror - that's a great tip so thank you so much!! will be doing it soon 🙂
@@kaypollard5140 It's super easy. Just mark out the back of the frame where the clips, screws, etc are attached to the mirror and wall. Should be small in size. Put the sanding attachment on the dremel tool and just sand out the marked notches. Does not take long and then the frame will sit flush against the mirror. I hope I explained the process well enough and didn't confuse you.
What did you do with the clips on the bottom? I have the same type of mirror in my bathroom and wanted to frame it. Please let me know what you did with the clips. I live your flips. Thanks.
wow who would think putting a frame around a bathroom mirror could make such an incredible improvement....the frame really makes the bathroom look much better....huge improvement, love it.
Really nice job! I have a mirror that extends over 2 sinks so I have to do double the work...going to try some grey glass subway tile in the middle to fill it in.....pls tell Neiman that I was cleaning the kitchen with my little one while watching this and gurllll....this music is off the hook!! We were both dancing lol.....oh and FYI, the HD near my place has a 10-pack of that MDF door casing that totals 80ft worth at a fraction of the cost (bulk cost not per ft)
I really want to do this to my bathroom mirrors but I’m also curious as what you did about those little plastic pieces that are currently holding the mirrors to the wall????
You're doing so much right now with your move and getting set in your new place, I was NOT expecting this. What a beautiful update! I hope you are getting some time to rest. x
@@msjoy2005 Oh, I know. I was just being supportive and commenting on their recent move and saying that I was surprised she was making a video like this right now!
You are an inspiration! Get into rehabbing. Seems you have the knowledge, interest, & tools for it. If you can live in a place that has good bones but really needs updates such as paint, flooring, cleaning, etc. you can really make good money on a resale. I started with a mobile home I bought for $500.00 and yes it was a filthy disaster. Three years later I sold it for $5,500.00 (Did most the work myself.) Bought another one at $2,700.00, not quite as bad. Sold it for $4,500.00 Next was one scheduled for demolition I bought for $1.00. One dollar. I turned $5,000.00 on it a few years later! Then I went into serious business -- a house. $45,000, sold for $85,000. Consider!
You made that look so easy. I have a bathroom with a mirror like that and I'm definitely going to frame it. Thanks for this video. Your parent's mirror is gorgeous now.
The mirror turned out great. But for clarity you never put anything over the mirror hooks right? I have the same hooks for the mirror and I want to do this literally tomorrow 😂😂😂
I must've missed something: how did you end up accommodating those mirror clips? did you drill out spaces inside the trim to allow the trim to sit flatly?
Looks beautiful! My mirror also has the plastic pieces keeping the mirror in place. You removed yours... Are they unnecessary to keep the mirror in place? Thanks!
did the trim easily cover the things holding up the mirror? can't see in the video. we have those but didn't know how to go over them. thank you. Looks pretty
1. Do not apply adhesive so close to the inside of the mirror. 2. Paint the trim on all sides before you put it up. The bathroom is a very moist environment and you don’t want to have any warping as a result of an unsealed side.
The mirror looks so much better all finished with the trimming. Awesome job! :) I learnt a cool trick, which you might find interesting too Lauren :) If you're calking in a hard place (angle) use a wet craft paint brush, put some on it and then use it to "paint" in the spot. Looks so good afterwards.
I framed out our 1964 bathroom mirror about a month ago & I don't know why it never accrued to me to caulk the gap around the mirror. I did the seams & outer part of the frame. I have always hated seeing the back of the molding & adhesive. Thanks for the inspiration. ~Samantha
The bathroom looks great! You are such a good daughter! I have a little tip for you. If you have another situation where you have to fill in a gap, do this: Tape on the edge of each side of the space you need to fill . Caulk, and do your smoothing. You will be left with a straight bead of caulk, without residue on either side of your line, when you remove the tape. 😉
One year later and no replies from Lauren about what she did with the mirror clips. I've watched many of her videos and have yet to see her answer any questions from viewers. NOT a good way to appreciate your audience. Sheesh - Unsubscribing
OH WOW! Just a few dollars, the right tools, and presto! It looks amazing, Lauren! Instant upgrade. I'm so glad you showed us each step! Thank you!💖B~}
Those brackets holding the mirror are probably NOT holding the mirror. It’s glued to the wall an your trim will replace those. They are added protection and pleasing to the eye.
Made the same frame around my parent's master bathroom mirror and it looks great!! Amazing what can be done! I plan to do the same when I redo my bathroom! Great job, Lauren!! Hope you and yours are doing well. Happy Easter!
The previous owners of our house put trim similar to this on all of our plate glass mirrors in the bathrooms but they painted the trim silver. Now the silver is peeling off and looks horrible. Seeing you using liquid nails makes me afraid to try to remove the trim on our mirrors, in case they did the same thing. I'm wondering if I should just sand them in place and paint them. The caulking is a great idea to finish it nicely. My wheels are turning now. Also I've been on the fence about what color to do but our door frames etc are all white so white will work well for me too.
You should have taken those plastic pieces that was holding the mirror up out use liquid nail behind your mirror and then put your frame around it that way it wouldn't be sticking out anywhere
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher Hi! Beautiful job! Could you please address the mirror clip issue? Lots of us are so eager to know how you resolved that. 😬😊
Great job
Thank you ☺️
I have clips on my mirror, what do I do
Try placing the caulking in the middle of the board. I saw that on other channels and the caulking won't ooze.
Awesome share
Thanks! I just bought the trim.. I bought finish nails since I did not watch your video until I got home.

What a difference!❤️❤️❤️
That’s good to caulk. I probably wouldn’t have thought of that

It turned out beautiful
I can't find any of your On The Flip Side vlog since 5 in August
1:38 Yes! It is! I learned to use both inches and centimeters, and now I just use what is the easier measurement at the moment.
Looks awsome!
So did you leave on the little brackets holding the mirror that were not letting the trim to be completely flushed?
How did you put over the mirror clips/holders?
We did something similar but used boards that were from an old farm house. It turned out great.
How will that mirror ever come down? You liquid nailed over the brackets that hold the mirror to the wall?
Did the same thing in our bathrooms. A definite inexpensive upgrade!
Another tip, Make sure to paint all sides of your wood before installing it or you will see wood reflected through the mirror
Love it! And fairly easy. Have a Blessed Easter weeked! Thank you for sharing.
That mirror does look good. Changes the whole look of that sink.❤

That trim completely transforms and elevates the entire bathroom. Unbelievable how such a small thing can have such a huge impact. WOW!

So glad you added the trim! Great job. My mirrors were glued to the wall so I just removed the clips that were on mine!

Truth Be Told...only if the mirror has been glued to the wall during construction. If not, you remove those, mirror comes crashing down.
I’m curious about these clips as well. What did you end up doing, FFT? 🤔
I have the exact same nitrite with plastic tabs.
What did you do about them?
Great job. Really makes the room. Well done.
Looking good Lauren. Happy Easter to you both, enjoy your new home.🏡❣

Nice! I was questioning the wide frame, but I love it
Glad you like it!
That was so much better adding the frame around the mirror.
Looks so good! I did the same thing in my second bathroom…makes such a difference!
It really needed the frame around the mirror. It updated the space even more.
Looks great! What did you do about the clips holding the mirror?
I am wondering that too. It didn't show in the video.
I'd say she left them there and glued over the top of them.
If that were the case there would have been a big gap and it wouldn't be sitting flush to the mirror. I don't think she left them.

I know you mentioned a problem with the mirror clips. But not sure what you ended up doing with them.
