Most jobs tend to attract the type of people who have the character traits that best fit the job. Unfortunately, the qualities required to be a good politician don't necessarily make for the kind of person who we''d want to befriend in everyday life. I've worked in software for many years and can affirm that the profession tends to attract allot of nerds.
Interestingly: Robert Hare (the Canadian Forensic Psychologist who has done allot of work on psychopathy) considered Maxwell to be a possible psychopath. This diagnosis can't be official because nobody ever did the formal interview required to say one way or another for sure. That said, in true psychopath form, Maxwell certainly did leave a path of ruin and destruction behind him.

If one of them started to complain about him they would saturate the media with a smear campaign to make them questionable characters. I saw it on a PBS maybe Frontline.

It's interesting to see Robert Maxwell (born Ján Ludvík Hyman Binyamin Hoch; 10 June 1923 - 5 November 1991) - was so often photographed dining with the British Monarchy. Around the same time that Maxwell and Piers Morgan pursued Diana so cruelly, ruthlessly and with such force and venom. It makes a person wonder what must've been said (or agreed) at his mansion parties where he entertained the Queen and Charles. Coincidence...? I don't think so.

Ron Rosen who wrote "Explaining Hitler" said we can't just call Hitler evil and let it go at that. We need to understand what created him so that we can stop creating people like this.
