How would you rank the following :
Kill Bill Vol 1
Django Unchained
Inglourious Basterds
Pulp Fiction
?
Kill Bill Vol 1
Django Unchained
Kill Bill Vol 2
Inglourious Basterds
Hatefull Eight
Once upon a time in Hollywood
Pulp Fiction
You can't really rank Kill Bill 1 without 2. Kill Bill 2 isn't a sequel. It's one film divided into 2 volumes. They compliment, complete, and enhance one another, and seeing them both will definitely influence your opinion on each of them respectively.
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill vol 2
Kill Bill vol 1
Inglorious Basterds
Django Unchained.
Pulp fiction
Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2
Django Unchained
Inglorious B.
I think you would love, love LOVE...True Romance.
I only have two critiques of Tarantino films.
1. not nearly enough violence
2. not nearly enough feet
Other than those two weaknesses, his films are masterpieces.
This comment needs more likes
Have you seen 4 Rooms?
4 directors, Tarantino is one of them.
You should watch both volumes, they tie into each other
Tie into each other/the same movie.
The reason it's called volume one and two is bc it was originally just one movie but was spit into two for run time.
I actually bought a version that had no black and white, put both movies together as 1 movie with some extra scenes
Ya think???
Isn't that pretty much obvious since they're titled Volumes 1&2?
@@xlDysenterylx some people don’t deal with this movie. So I’m just trying to be of some help
Fun facts: Hattori Hanzo was a famous ninja from the Sengoku Jidai period (1467-1573).
The cereal box in which Vivica Fox has the hidden gun is branded "Kaboom" (Tarantino humor).
He was also a playable character- my favorite character- in the Neo-Geo arcade classic “Samurai Showdown.”
Since you asked us to let you know what we think:
I think you've watched one half of Kill Bill now and should react to the second half (Volume 2) as well. ^^ Vol 1 is one of my all-time favorites, but Vol 2 completes the story with the remaining people on her list, including Bill. Other than that enjoyed your reaction! 😃
Kill Bill 1+2 is in my top ten favorite films. It has all of the best elements of QT’s film style, plus the fantastic animated sequence. It is just popping with personality.
I saw this in theaters opening day and I'll never forget it. Not only did it finally dethrone Braveheart as the most violent movie I had ever seen but when the whole Crazy 88 battle began you could hear a pin drop. Everyone, myself include was like 😳! In total disbelief at what we were seeing. Until this movie, I didn't know you could even DO half the stuff they did in this movie.
Also two interesting facts about this movie:
1. The Sheriff who finds her in the church was a character in a previous Tarantino film teamed up with director Robert Rodriguez in the movie From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). This was the first movie where Tarantino movies connected with each other in some way. The Sheriff would later make an appearance in another Tarantino/Rodriguez film called Planet Terror (2007). So From Dusk Till Dawn, Kill Bill and Planet Terror all take place in the same universe, which if you've seen all 3 is, to put it bluntly, fucking insane.
2. The actress who plays Gogo was in an awesome, also super violent, Japanese movie called Battle Royale (2000) which is the one movie Tarantino has gone on record as saying he was beyond jealous when he saw it, because he wishes he had made it/thought of it. He loved it so much he HAD to get her to be in this movie.
"Elegance..."
"Powerfulness..."
"A pirate."
You know the song bang bang because of the film... so many songs you recognize this film made them popular
"You better start gluing your child to your chest" 💀🤣🤣🤣🤣
@41:32 "they see me rooollin'"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol fun fact her name is revealed in Vol 1 its on her plane ticket when she goes to Japan
I think she'll like Vol 2 more than Vol 1
My favorite QT film. Before I get attacked, I'm not saying it's his best, just that it's my favorite.
You are allowed to have an opinion. If you consider this his best film then that is your valid opinion
Reservoir Dogs!? I will find you John Tate, if it's the last thing I do 😜 (one of my faves too)
@enadeghe eghaghe I agree, but no I don't think it's his best. It's the most fun for me though.
wow shes not sensitive to violence, and laughs in the face of it, i think im in love boys
You have to watch the second part too, I think it's even better than part one.
My favorite Tarrantino movie is Reservoir Dogs.
Nice. She'll like this one for sure.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are one movie so you will need to watch Vol.2 to see the rest of the film.
In 2003 I saw Quintin in line at the local Starbucks. I jumped up from my chair, walked to a respectful distance (Hollywood!) from him and said "best f**king movie ever!" and he smiled and said "thanks man" and we shook hands. I didn't know about Weinstein yet.
I wound up in the hospital due to being diabetic and not knowing it. I was in a coma for almost a month and when I woke and was finally coherent, I could not walk because my muscles had weakened so much and spent almost another month strengthening them before I could leave.
Yeah, 13 hours in a back seat for full recovery seemed optimistic. Or superhuman.
How much were you aware of? I went into a coma for a few days, part of it was medically induced because I was having seizures but I was unconscious already when I was brought in. So they kept me asleep and tested my brain or whatever before waking me up.
I remember hearing things my family or drs were saying, and they almost incorporated themselves into my very primitive dreams. It’s like I was watching my brain watch a dream. But some things they said I told them was not in correct order or in very different context. So I think my brain filled in some gaps on its own or something. Just wondering if i5s different for different comas.
@@mrdavman13 Unfortunately, I wound up in the hospital again about a year later because I wasn't taking my medication properly. I, too, had pretty effed up dreams that felt close to real to me. It was worse the second time. I also believe that the hospital staff was mistreating me (the second time not the first), but I can't prove that since much of my state of mind was effed up.
“Go to sleep go to sleep” made me think of khabib lmao
This might be the first time I've seen Bisscute shaken by the sheer OP violence in a movie. ----- Video games have made a pretty decent size but Tarantino knows how to raise the shock value for sure.
Tarantino gave his reasons to let Sophie live , through the bride's dialogue here 41:55
The scene where nurse blonde is walking to kill black mamba in her coma, is an homage to one of my favorite directors, Brian de Palma!
Dude, your commentary has me bursting out laughing at times!! "They see me ROLLIN'..." 🤣
The scene where the Bride fights the Crazy 88's is awesome and brutal.
The flute song is by Romanian musician Georghe Zamfir.
The piece of music played on the pan flute you heard in Hattori Hanzō's house and later in the ending is called "The Lonely Shepherd".
It was composed by James Last under the title "Der einsame Hirte" and successfully performed by your fellow-countryman Gheorghe Zamfir.
Along with Zamfir it became extremely popular in the late 1970s and in the 1980s. 🙂
My family had a Gheorge Zamfir album in the 1970s when I was a kid. I listended to it quite often.
@@ChrisTian-rm7zm Oh, this applies to me as well! 🙂
It is also similar to a native American song
@@steveboy7302 "The not so lonely Apache" one of my favorites too...
Volume one and volume two were meant to be one long movie. You have only seen half of the movie so far ;)
Tarantino movies are all great, but my favorite remains *Reservoir Dogs,* which incidentally is the first one he made and the one with the lowest budget.
All of his films are some of the greatest films ever made. But Pulp Fiction is the favorite of many. Including myself.
The over the top amounts of blood is Tarantino's influence from the old samurai movies of the 60's and 70's. The change to black and white during the crazy 88 fight scene was done to keep the movie with an R rating, otherwise it would have been bumped up to NC17 which would have kept it out of many theaters.
33:45 they are quoting the tagline from a cereal commercial
34:43 - Actually, the only reason it goes to black and white is the MPAA would have given the movie an NC-17 rating due to the violence/blood. With no color, it can seem toned down a little. A few other small parts were cut as well for the R-rated version, but much fewer than you think.
They did release an uncut version released in Japan that's completely in color and some scenes are slightly extended.
My personal favorite, Quentin Tarantino movie, is the movie “Reservoir Dogs”!! It’s an amazing movie, you should definitely consider reacting to it… 😎
It was his first movie. He shot it in my old neighborhood, so that increases my love for it. It’s a very tight drama.
24:43 I looked it up for you (in case didn't yourself): the price of an authentic new katana starts at around $8000 (about 7400 euros) and go as high as over $25,000 (23,000 euros). There are others that can go for as little as $200 (185 euros) but you get what you pay for.
Of all the times I've seen this movie, I just noticed that the yellow motorcycle she is riding is a Suzuki Katana.
"they see me rolling" about made me stop breathing from laughing.
2:55 There absolutely is a famous science university in Pasadena, California (although it's only "big" in impact rather than in size or population). It's called The California Institute of Technology, which is often shortened to Caltech.
To answer your question, a real katana would, at the very least, cost about 8000 dollars. But that's pushing it.
His first, Reservoir Dogs is a must see.
21:35 I was wondering about that. Thanks for explaining it.
I think this is the Tarantino movie with the most gore. Ohhh Bisscute, we haven't even gotten to the fight at Blue Leaves resturant. ----rest asure the blood will flow.
my favourite quentin movies you haven´t even watched :D
my favourite is the hateful 8.
and i really like death proof or his segment from 4 rooms
I love how you roll your “R’s”; it’s adorable 👍
39:13 I never caught that hypocrisy on O-Ren's part before! Good catch there.
One of the greatest movie of all time
The yellow outfit The Bride is wearing is likely influenced by the tracksuit worn by Bruce Lee in the film 'Game of Death' from 1978.
I paid $2500.00 for the Shinto era katana I train on in the 1990s. Nothing special for its era but unusually long, better suited for a tallish westerner.
And we need to know this because?????
@@dockingtroll6801 Because she asked.
I think you should wait until you watch Vol. 2 before ranking so you'll have the full story. It may even make you appreciate Vol. 1 even more.
If you get the uncut version of the movie, the huge fight seen which switches to black and white, the uncut version is in colour.
There is no cheating in life and death. You win or you die. 😊
This is my favorite movie tied with It's A Wonderful Life❤ thank you for your reaction! *Subscribed
You also need to watch True Romance. It was written by Tarantino but not directed by him. But the dialogue in it is great. You will love it I know
"Elegance.. Powerfull ... A pirate!"
Brilliant!
Between the two movies Uma Thurman gives one of the greatest performances of al time.
I every Tarantino movie, the soundtrack is compiled from Quentin's own record collection
This is my favorite Tarantino movie. Actually, it's one of my overall favorite movies...
Caltech (The California Institute of Technology) is located in Pasadena.
I'm born and raised and still live in Dena. He is 💯 correct 🙂
Pulp fiction 1st place, inglorious 2nd, Django 3, Jackie brown 4, kill Bill 1,2, 5,6, Hollywood 7, death proof 8, reservoir dogs 9th
she wears the sunglasses at the hospital because her eyes still needed to adjust and get used to bright lights. She hasn't used her eyes for 4 years
*after watching Biss laugh at Buck getting his head smashed
Note to self: never piss Biss off.
I learned bang bang on guitar from the Isobel Campbell version. Gotta have the right reverb.
Quentin actually drove the pussy wagon around LA for years. Do not skip Jackie Brown, most skip it because he only directed it but it feals like he wrote it and it's great. Also, he wrote True Romance but didn't direct it and it's a very good film.
True Romance was and remains my favorite movie of all time. It just checks every box for me. I know it's not technically a QT movie since Tony Scott did it, QT obviously had his writing hands all over it. Jackie Brown took me awhile but I think its probably my most appreciated QT movie ever. It's very special
Part II is even better. This is just a warm up. More action, more drama, more back story. Interesting characters.
Agreed
No, I didn't like part 2.. part 1 very good
Volume 2 is a must absolutely. I highly recommend Jackie Brown. It's my favorite from Quentin.
26:58 Killer Bee Aproved
I have a good friend who is a licensed swordsmith in Yamaguchi, Japan. His Katana range from 20-50 thousand USD. Katanas can go much higher depending on the renown of the craftsman. There are less than 50 total active craftsmen today.
@Ronin - that is the middle ground for rich people, and quality. Pure pro level, rarity, and quality? 300K USD+ easily. Middle range is probably around 12K-25K USD.
Basic ones, for the average people, turists and so on, or put is simply for just the average "internet person" - yeah, anything below 1K USD (so they are happy to display that kind of katana on some stand in their apartment/house, or just put it on a wall there).
@@tannhauser5399 you basically expanded on what I already said. Though 300k would be unheard of unless it was an antiquity of renown, which comes with legal barriers taking it out of the country. The average professionally made tamahagane blade is under 50k. I've personally made a kogatana and researched for a book and ethnography about becoming and living as a sword smith in Japan. I've lived in the Japanese countryside for over 7 years.
The tourist blades are factory made , usually from stainless or factory grade carbon steel. Tourists pay over 500 for them when they are worth usually around 50 USD.
my pet peeve with reactors watching this movie is the scene when she put's Buck's sunglasses on. they ALL think she masks herself, but ... I think her eyes are sensitive to those bright hospital lights in the hall ... or?
I love this movie.
32:04 the weapon Gogo YuBari uses in this, is known as a Kusari or commonly known as the ball and chain... Best weapon to use against a sword... If used correctly can very quickly disarm a swordsman... Most real Kuasris can be fitted with different weapon heads... For example the character SCORPION from MORTAL KOMBAT uses one fitted with Kuni or a spear head...
"Time for pleasantries is done" made her sound like a bond villan.
For me, its KIll Bill (vol. 2 and then 1), Inglorious Bastards, Reservoir Dogs, Desperado, Crimson Tide, From Dusk Till Dawn, Pulp Fiction, and The hateful Eight. 😉👌👍
Did you say "fools, ya fools!?" 😂 Most of the Japanese I know came from Naruto and that's what it sounded like.
FYI: There is a Japanese version of this movie where the House of Blue Leaves massacre is extended, and indeed in color.
If you liked this, you should check out Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It's live action, and there's a scene where a tiny girl destroys fifty grown ass men in a tea house. It's very tame by comparison. I don't think there's any blood, but aside from that they're very similar scenes, and it's an awesome movie besides that.
For me, with those four movies from best to worst, it's Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Django, Inglorious Basterds but that's just my opinion.
My extended list (still from best to worst): Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Django, Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds, Jackie Brown, Death Proof, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Hateful Eight, and again, that's just my opinion.
You will also like the hateful eight. Good story. Very much like pulp fiction
Another underappreciated QT movie. I really, really love it. The dialogue is absolutely 🔥
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .
I will leave this pinned message here to REMIND everyone that i do not have TELEGRAM and there is no GIVEAWAY. Those you see are bot scams . Keep yourself safe and know that I would not ask for your info. ❤ ❤
Old japanese samurai movies had lots of spraying blood. Before they were censored for the US market.
Great music and fight scenes...I love Lucy Lu in this, she's such a badass. Chiaki Kuriyama aka Gogo
was also in Batlle Royale.
I waited and missed the premire!!!!!!!!!
A contemporary, traditionally hand forged, Japanese made katana, known as a nihonto in Japanese, that is a proper, edged weapon manufactured for combat rather than just display purposes, can cost in excess of $30,000 US. Historical nihonto can cost much more depending on rarity.
Good quality replicas and mass produced katana are usually hundreds of dollars rather than thousands.
@Rastam - all depends. Prices are a moving target depending on quality, and like you have said: rarity.
Basic ones are usually around 100-900+ USD. Just for the average person, to put on the wall in a house, or display on a stand - or something similar.
Anything better, in the middle range? I would say starting point would be 6K-8K USD, with top ones around 10K USD. Top levels? I would say start with 12-25K USD and go from that. Pure pro and rarity? 300K USD+ easily.
The glasses were for the bright light . Her eyes were sensitive
Many people don't realize that "rhythmic music to go with the murderings" was the alternate title of what became Kill Bill Volume 1. 😂🤣
before launching the channel this girl had never seen a movie in her life, poor thing
seen a lot of girly movies if you are interested in those
A real katana made in Japan, called a Nihonto, is anywhere from $10,000 to $100,000.
38:57 LOLOL the sound filter there is perfect
Micheal Parks. The Sherrif. He plays the same character in a couple of other QT movies. He's in Dusk till Dawn, Death Proof. All the same Sherif, which puts all these movies in the same 'universe'. But he's such a great actor that he also plays Estobahn the pimp who tells her about Bills house. But so good is the acting you never even knew ;)
The price of a katana depends on what you define as a real one. A 'mass-marketed' one made out of stainless steel which is the type most people see for sale at a store or a seller's booth at a convention or flea market is 100 to 1,000 US dollars as you increase how well made it is. But a good quality properly made one would be made with multi-folded cold-forged steel (that is to say not stainless steel), that level of Katana is in the 10-25k US dollar range, and from a master-craftsman like the character that they made Hanzo to be like, you are looking at likely 100,000 plus for even his worst blades in my estimation.
A bare bones masterwork would start around $50,000, increasing with ornateness.
I was living and working in the middle of no where Wyoming. When this hit the theater I drove 2 hours one weekend to catch this opening weekend at a matinee. In the 200 seat theater there was only me and two other people. I loved it. The couple that were there didn't. Not a film for cowboy country even though it is basically an old samurai\western revenge flick.
The spurting blood comes from Japanese cult films of the 60's and 70's, 'Pinky Violence' or Gangster films. Tarantino lives those films.
From dusk til dawn is a great movie that Tarantino made as well.
27:26 squeamish is pronounced sk-wee-mish. Skwee-mish. Skweemish.
The song at 24: ish minutes is called einsame hirte. A very beautiful song.
Katanas are somewhere between $250 and $1,000,000
The price of a katana depends on economic principles: What is someone willing to sell it for? What is someone willing to pay for it?
Apparently, in El Paso, TX, they’re worth $250
Little Gogo is so dangerous. She knows that Jet-Li WooShoo stuff.
I've heard the Bride will get around to dealing with the Romanian Meadow Viper, aka Bisscute.
In 1992, part of Dr. Walter Ames Compten’s collection of katana swords from the 1930s went up for sale. The first 1,100 swords of his collection sold for over 8 million dollars in a single day. One of the swords, which had a Kamakura blade from the 13th century, was (as of this writing) the last traditional katana to appear at a public auction. A European buyer purchased it for $418,000 making it the most expensive Japanese sword in the world.
Katana's made in the traditional form that are hundreds of years old are tens of thousands of dollars.
You might feel differently about the rankings after seeing the second one. You’ve basically seen half the movie.
There is the legendary sword that was the last samurai sword handed down. Was supposed to have be perfect. Given to the Emperor ain't it disappear when the Americans arrived after WWII . Some say burned with the rest of the sword because it was illegal to own for a while after the War. Some say was stolen by a soldier or some say in Japan. That sword is thought to be priceless
