    Thank you for changing it to saying venomous. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to animals.

      you are welcome! Actually, there is only the word "Gift" in German and my English is good, but not that good, that I knew the difference between venom and poison before.

      Hearing someone else who takes issue with the difference between venom and poison is immensely refreshing. I tire of hearing people call spiders,snakes, and other technically venomous creatures "poisonous"

    I love your animations, I find them didactic and interesting, the spider vid blew my mind. As a snake fan, would it be too much to ask for more detail about the muscle groups and how it articulates with the skeleton? I am deeply interested in the biomechanics of living things in general, and I have found little information about it as accessible and engaging as your videos.

    • @OliverEnde
      @OliverEnde  Год назад +41

      Thank you so much! It is always a little bit difficult on how much information I put in such an animation.. for this one I needed 5 months, so I thought: o.k. if I model and explain the muscles, it would take another 2 months..

    In biology, a key idea to understanding is that function follows form. The way a thing is shaped and how it moves tells you everything. If a thing is shaped differently, it will function differently. These animations do a fantastic job at showing how these animals, whose form is so different from ours, still manages to function in such a majestic fashion. Beautiful work!

    So excited to see version 2 of this! I’m proud to have been involved with it :) The animations are incredible and the creator’s dedication to providing accurate information really shows. As for how I got involved with it, there were a good number of inaccuracies in the first version (beyond even the poison/venom issue), and I was disappointed by this because of how good the spider video was and the quality of the animations, so I wrote a long(and by long I mean like 5 paragraphs), angry comment about how the video was “not really informative in its current state”, which was definitely a bit harsh for the creator’s second biology video. I was not expecting a response, certainly not a nice one.
    Not only did I get a response, but Oliver worked through each of the corrections in making this second version (I’m on RUclips a lot and RUclipsrs releasing corrected videos this early into the lifespan of a video is basically unheard of because it splits views between them which is bad for the algorithm) and he even let me look at his updated script and gave me a sneak preview of his next biology video (It’s still in the early research stages but it’s on an absolutely fascinating animal, so you should definitely look out for it). He even credited me in the description which isn’t even something I asked for.
    If you are curious about what the changed where, the big script change besides venom-> poison was to the facts regarding the circulatory system. And the two animations that changed based on my comment were the Jacobson’s organ animation (which also involved a script change to go along with it) and the snake skin shedding animation. Which is now totally gorgeous and much more accurate :)
    There were tons of other little animation improvements btw, an area where the first video was already inarguably excellent. This one is a masterpiece.

      Hi Harry! Again, thank you so much for helping me doing the corrections for this version 2. Even though it was a big consideration whether to release a new version, because the old video did well, I think it was worth it.
