You are an excellent teacher. I learned the riffle on my own just by shuffling my feet and then thinking, "Oh, that sounded cool!" Since that time I have been in classes where the teacher tried to explain it and yours is the best presentation I have seen so far.

This is so fun, Bob! One of my first teachers was Jay Dash, who taught at the Ned Wayburn school (which, as you may know, goes way back- Fred Astaire even took some lessons there when he and Adele first got to New York as youngsters.) Jay was big on these riffs and riffles, and he had all sorts of variations and ways to use them. I am so glad that you are out there to refresh my memory and ensure that we keep all of these combinations in our dance vocabulary. Thank you for doing this important work!
