You are such a blessing and I feel so grateful to have discovered your videos! 🙏 I'm an intuitive tarot reader (the combo version of tarot knowledge & intuition) and decided to go pro on Etsy a couple of months ago, but it feels like I'm completely failing at it. The points you made in this video are pure gold and the parts about being consistent, being present in the community, and building up connections were the ones that hit home the hardest for me. I'm such a hermit and struggle with being social, so marketing myself is definitely not my strong suit. Plus, whenever I see something I've put out there not being well-received it feels like a personal blow and I get super demotivated. So this video has given me some stuff to think about. Thank you for all that you do! It's evident how authentic and truly motivated to give back to the community you are. Your whole energy is just beautiful! Wishing you all the success ✨🥰
Wow, you are too kind. Thank you so much for watching and being apart of my lil 🐝 🐝 family :) Marketing and putting yourself out there definitely is a difficult part of the job, but it gets easier the more you do it! Wish you well and your business will succeed if you put your heart and soul into it :) blessed 🐝
I am a sahm of 3 so working outside of the home has been very hard. I am reading all the books, playing with the cards, looking at them, bonding with them everyday! I don't have anyone close to me to read for, so I read for myself and started doing general readings social media. Hopefully I can get some people interested in letting me read for them so I can develop my skills and deepened my intuition as I grow my confidence. It's been a very natural journey so far and even though I enjoy doing readings for fun, it's a nice thought that someday it could help me provide for my family a little. Especially that the collecting deck thing gets expensive LOL. But they are so beautiful and they have such a nice energy. They make me happy. They help me connect with my spiritual side and that has no price for me! I love your videos, thank you so much for sharing! ♥
This was great Ethony ❤️ (and a perfect antidote/ balance to all the “go pro as a tarot reader today” type videos) a good place to be able to point people when they have this question. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for this post. Perfect timing as I am about to go pro! Watching this post was a good checklist for me. I watched with trepidation but all your points I have covered in detail. So I feel very prepared. Then one thing I have been very conscious of in my preparations is layouts. Having a good repertoire of trusted layouts is also helpful. Also practicing remote, telephone and face to face readings as I have discovered clients react differently in these different scenarios. Thanks again.
Great points, Ethony. Because I only do email readings, I do check the LWB because I choose a tarot deck out of my collection intuitively. I feel each deck has a unique message and I like to check what that is. I don't always go with it though if my intuition is saying otherwise. I am not ready for one-on-one sessions yet. I agree that every business takes time to build as I run my own editing business. The tarot reading to me is just a small thing to give out spiritually. A good work ethic is essential.
I love this video! I have no idea if I'll ever pursue tarot as a professional or not, but it's so nice to have a professional's perspective on what it takes and what the demands of the job are. When I have those moments where I consider someday reading tarot professionally, my mind is always focused on how much I need/want to learn to really consider myself a proficient reader. I rarely even think about things like having to deliver bad news. Also, I'm so happy that you included being comfortable talking about money as one of the signs. It's infuriating when people say that you shouldn't charge for spiritual gifts. Any talent or gift takes work well beyond where you start, but even if someone is gifted psychically or for something like reading tarot and they never had to put a minute of work or study in (lol), the gift was given to that person, not to the world. That gift isn't public property, and the person who has it still has to use their own time and energy to convey that information to you.
Great advice. I’ve been watching as many info videos as I can. I started about a year ago, which I was ok with however it’s the doing RUclips videos I’m sucking at lol. But practice makes perfect. So I’m marching on. Thank you for your videos and inspiration.
l agree so much with this video, i believe so much in studying, i have even been putting my videos off on youtube for a while i want to make sure im just ready to go, this is such a wonderful video with great advice!
so good!! I appreciate your thoughtfulness and honesty. I am really just about a year into my tarot journey and have given like 3 readings to friends. that is it. But each time showed me what i need to learn and how to be thoughtfully honest. We appreciate all you do, Ethony!!
That was just right, not to harsh, stright and honest 💖💖 I'm so happy I found you and your channel, your content is exactly what I've been looking for 💖
Thanks, Ethony! Great advice! I’ve always thought my social work/counseling background has been an important asset to my tarot reading. Not just the counseling skills themselves, although they are important, but the ethics, too.
Thank you for this. So I have no issues with anything on your list. My only issue is being judged. Which normally I say I don’t care but deep down I do. I worry that they would judge my son for my actions
Thank you! I was practically bullied when I decided I would start charging for my readings which often times 45 minutes long, not to mention the time it takes me to shuffle out the cards, cleanse everything, get my background set up, put everything away.. like I just couldn’t believe that people were giving me a hard time for charging!
Lol The Money part made me laugh, it is sooo me ahah I can never bring myself to ask for money or ask a friend to give me back the money borrowed ! I should ask the tarot on why I struggle with this !! Great Tips Ethony Thanks
I know, it's so difficult to know you worth, and stick to it especially when reading with friends or family, you have to decide where to draw the line for yourself
I m not a pro tarot reader (yet?) but I was a trainee lawyer for a short period of time and one thing I learned was: if you don't feel able to help a client or if you can't because of ethical and moral question, then say no. Very useful and inspiring video. If you feel like sharing I would love to know what surprises you (in good or bad) when you became a pro?
One thing related to this topic is if you are good reading for friends and family and all of them tell you to go pro, that doesnt mean you will be good because is not the same a family member than an unknown person.
You are such a blessing and I feel so grateful to have discovered your videos! 🙏

For sure ethics is a massive point in our compass
Good video and about what I expected to hear. Nothing really surprising.
