Some of the best musicians hawaii gas to offer all in this 1 band. Uncle Martin, the Hall brothers, Uncle Peter. Rest in Aloha Uncle Peter Moon. Your music was so important to my generation
Ah, that was Martin Pahinui rockin' back in the day! More them pakalolo songs eh? Haha. But this shows Martin's versatility -- he can rip your heart out with some of the sweetest falsetto ever like on Pua Lilia, and then he can rock like on this or on Jealous Guy. Mahalo!!!!! Me ke aloha, Auntie Wanda
As a kid I remember the Green Harvest Choppers buzzing the fields before the burn and guys rushing into the fields to save their crops. Today those memories come back but also the memories of cane fires lit as part of the HC&S clearing process as they prepare to harvest. Gone are the good old days... Aloha
I love this song, and the lyrics rang true for my family because we too ran from the helicopters, dropping starters all through the forest, LOL We lived in Puna and probably were the only Popolos in Pahoa town. Those were the days. Precious memories, how they linger.....
The entire genre of "modern" Hawaiian music is forever gone and replaced by reggae local interpretations teenagers in our global society can id. Unfortunately thats just the way it is.
i use to watch them when they played and "POPS" PAHINUI HOUSE IN WAIMANALO. HAD ALL MY CUZZIN. WE USE TO PLAY IN THE MOUNTAIN CLIMB HALF WAY UP AND SEE ALL OUR PARENT'S DRINKING BA K IN THE 70'S
Makes me smile when I remember my mom wearing a t-shirt she got in Honolulu that had a rainbow pakalolo leaf and the captions said, "Pakalolo....The pause that refreshes". If you knew my mom you'd find that as funny as I do!
Mid 90's grabbing rubbish bags from my dad and uncles running out of Maui cane fields handing em to me. No can beat (sativa)90 day wonders. Good memories. Thankfully I get seeds.
My dad was just playing this song in the car and my dad told me about this song and I heard this song when I watched the video that he was in with the Honolulu Police Department and he flew the MD-500 helicopters and he’s former DEA as well and he said this song talks about his old agency because he’s former DEA as well and I know because I’m a son of a former DEA agent and I know that this song talks about my dads old agency and he was D.E.A and he flew the MD-500 helicopter but I know you need a pilots license to fly but he was the Boss in DEA and he didn’t need the pilots license and he just flew the MD-500 helicopter and he didn’t need the license to fly it and it was here in Hawaii so this song talks about my dads old days as a DEA agent
My favorite song from P. 🌙 moon was "Chinatown" the album cover pictured a honolulu street (im guessing) with neon lights in the window, a playboy sign too...i always thought that Peter Moon record my Dad had looked real cool
Yeah I remember those days when they hunted the growers like animals. The feds along with state lackeys spent millions lock them up. Now its legal for a select few to legally distribute pakalolo.
beindoter it will get better...moved to a non prohibition state. Change them laws bruddha. Maybe You’ve no idea how much refined the ag is when allowed to apply more science to da green Kine. 💁🏻♀️
