hey Matt I think ur the best soccer you tuber out their, and that's not cause of a personal feeling it's cause ur teaching methods actually work, ur not just giving us ideas ur telling us how to use them as well, I know ur a pro now but please don't stop doing You tube, thank you very much
thanks for the tips, its crazy how i'm coming back post college and looking at these just to fine tune those touches. Players do sometimes for get the beauty and importance of the simple basics. going back to the roots
Great video man, very helpful. After watching your other video on shooting with power, I've gone to the fields 3 times to work on it but can't get the technique right. Maybe 1/5 shots is good, while the others are mostly on the ground or occasionally I sent it over the crossbar. When I make good contact it definitely is harder than I was shooting previously. I will do these step-by-step drills and see how it goes. I'm almost 45 with 2 kids, and I play indoor soccer, never too old to learn something new.
Definitely! Good luck. Also remember, just like anything else it's going to take a lot of practice to get it down into your muscle memory. The fast that you are getting correct contact sometime shows that you know the right technique, now you just need repetition. It's like learning to ride a bike. You can understand what you need to do, but no matter what it's going to take a while to get the muscle memory down and master it.
I used the exact learning process! The 2 step run-up became a habit cuz I can focus more on the technique. Even tho my run-up isn't the prettiest, my shots are still stronger than ever!
if you look at the pros ( Steven Gerrard for eg ) shooting with power has a lot to do with your left arm movement. swinging left arm up and outward away from you, that causes rotation in your torso which translates to your thigh and finishes with your striking foot that's how I feel I generate power anyway
Great video Matt! Thank you! I have a question: in this video you swing your leg through the ball and continue that motion after contact with the ball, but more often you just stop your leg after kick at the place where the ball was. How should I kick the ball when practicing - stopping the leg or continue the motion beyond the point where ball was? Thanks a lot!!! P.S. Your videos are very helpful and interesting and really differ from what other youtubers offer.
Personally, i like to focus on bending my left knee a bit and leaning left. It helps me lean over the ball and have a better angle when shooting the ball.
Hi i am 24 year old, I used to play soccer during my schl days but did not had propper guidance and it was not professional there were no rules and during my degree i did not had any opportunity and time to get into any sport, now i am working on an 8 hour day job and now i am here wanting to learn football again
I bought your speed program, but I don't have your email (24/7 access with you) so I will ask my question here. About how long does each "day" take to complete?
+Raymond Yeo my email is listed in the description of the video and in the bio of my instagram just fyi. Each day takes about 1-2 hours, but it really depends on the person
I'm 12 and I practice soccer 6 days a week and I play a game on the 7th day and I practice for 2 hours everyday and somtimes 3 if I go to the gym how many calories should I eat because I am currently only eating about 1,900-2,000 calories a day and my friends are a lot bigger than me. Also should I practice more hours or am I practicing enough?
+IamAFifaGamer Hd hey man trust me on this do NOT go to the gym its useless at your age tbh. you are practising enough but instead of he gym train more TRUST ME. strength comes from your technique not your muscle mass
none of these videos on youtube have ever explained me this much, your a great teacher
This is super helpful. Like you said lots of people show the technique but very rare is it to see the how to learn. I'd love to see more of these.
