  • 1977 Ford LTD Junkyard Find. Talk about a pretty straight land yacht Ford. This old girl wasn't looking too bad at first sight but as I got closer it became apparent as yo why she ended up in the yard. An under hood fire sealed her fate. The fire also took out some of the dash as well. Outside of that, she cpuld very well have still been looking good on the road. Although originally a red of some sorts, I was liking the all satin black paint job with limo tint to match. i just love that 5% tint on my rides. This made it look kinda mean or aggressive. Under the hood it was mostly thete albeit a tad bit toasty. The interior wasnt in the worst of shape as well outside of the dash. underneath jt was pretty solid all things being considered.

    Whoa Nelley, two years ago, don't you know? Let's do this one right, we just might...
    We got the VIN, we win: 7 for 1977 model year, F for Dearborn, MI assembly, 63 for LTD four door, H for 351 V8 with two barrel, and the rest is the production sequence.
    We got the tag, we can brag: Possible 2A for Coral exterior paint, 53H for LTD four door, DD for red cloth interior trim, 27J for October 27, 1976 production, which was a Wednesday, B for 2.47:1 rear end ratio, non-locking, transmission of X for FMX automatic transmission, AC of A for factory installed AC.
    Whoa Nelley, 1977 and going to Heaven. Fire under the hood, this one is no good. 351 and it's done. That's it, time to quit. Going to be flat and that's that. If you're reading this by now, it's been squished and frankly, no one is really pissed.

    We've got the VIN as 7 for 1977, F for Dearborn, MI assembly, 63 for LTD 4 door, H for 351 V8 2 barrel and the rest is the production sequence. Someone gave me one of these heaps in 1989, it was a two door. I partnered with a friend and we flipped it. I think we both made $100 at the time. LOL. The one I had was white with a red interior and I believe it was also a 351. I think the best part about it was the stuff I found in the trunk which I still have, including some funnels and odds and ends. Other than that, it was a heap. I changed the oil before I sold it, and it came out like tar. A classmate in HS gave it to me when he decided he did not want it anymore.

    I drove one in high school, except mine was black with a vinyl roof, hideaway headlights, all power options, mine was a special order oh, it was the LTD landau, I got mine at a sheriff's auction for $100, back then, that was a hell of a lot of money in them days, the one I had was a 1977 1/2,mine had the 351 modified 400,duel exhaust w/glasspacks. This one is more rare than most since it's a base LTD and not the LTD Brougham like you see in most videos. The base LTD was the only model that could be had WITHOUT the vinyl roof like you see here. Also important to note that this car was repainted black from it's original color of burgandy/red as you can see when the hood was open as well as the trunk. At one point it was a Department of Utilities car from Texas hence it's base model status probably.

      @@EfurdGarage It does. I got rear ended in my G6 convertible by someone. I had a tough time with the other person's insurance company. They wanted to use used parts to repair it, straighten this and that, and to boot they did the estimate for a 2009.5 G6, mine is a 2009. The parts are completely different. I gave their adjuster a real tough time to say the least and the estimate went from their $3500 to my re-doing it to nearly $6000. They paid every penny of it and I got only brand new GM parts, nothing was used or straightened. It was a minor hit, but I wanted it back to the way it was originally.

It had 78,000 miles on it in 85 when my parents got a 85 fox body LTD. The station wagon and the fox body LTD was the same color inside and out. Both grey with a red interior. How I want a 70s LTD.

  • @googleusergp
    @googleusergp 4 года назад

    DSO of 52 is Dallas, TX, so it's an original TX car, 53H should be LTD four door body type, DD is I believe a red cloth interior, I think 27J is October 27, 1976 production which might make sense as it was scheduled for then, but actually made in November 1976. Not sure of the ratio of the axle. A for AC means Ford factory installed AC (albeit with a Delco compressor).

    DSO 52 is Dallas TX, 53H is a 4 door pillared hard top, DD trim should be red, I think 27J is late October/November 27 of 1976, Transmission of X should be FMX, A for A/C I believe is factory Ford installed AC. I'm using 1975 data to decode, it should be close for '77.

    You have to be careful with the 70s Ford's the fuel filter fuel line tends to leak and it falls right on the manifold where it's hot and follower so you always got to make sure that they're nice and screwed in tight and that you have good fuel hoses and check your carburetor that everything's tighten all fuel lines for for some reason runs really hot and maybe it's what causes the fire on the fuel lines tends to probably loosen up the bolts and starts to leak gas I have a mark 5 and it was leaking gas right from the filter connected to the carburetor ain't that a b****
