I often have trouble with my appetite because of medication, so I like watching your videos to make myself hungrier before meals 😊 thank you for the great videos! The vegetable egg dish looked super tasty, and cheap as well!
Wow I'm not the only one! Guess it's kinda obvious that others use these wonderful videos for that purpose, but I've just never seen it brought up by someone else. :)
Shokudo Milk looks like a place that you could easily walk past and miss if you weren't paying attention. Also... the food there looks really comforting and warming. A true hidden gem.
I love these old style places! You can find them in Tokyo as well, indeed usually on back streets. The champon looked interesting so different then what I've seen on the mainland. The onigiri look amazing. I saw such interesting flavours on the menu as well. And I like the folded style Okinawan onigiri have. It's almost like the onigirasu recipes. So easy to make
Your videography just gets better and better, Shinichi! Everything looked so tasty. The Champon particularly appealed to me. You asked about our comfort foods. Mine is the whole category of "squishy" foods--lol--like vegetarian stews (no overcooked veggies), mashed potatoes, noodle dishes, soft serve ice cream, etc. How about you? Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable video.
@@IWillAlwaysTravelforFood Hahaha! Nothing strange about it. I think most everybody who ever lived in America has a fast food/buffet "guilty pleasure." And orange chicken must be scrumptious. (I'm such a bad vegetarian--lol.)
Guys, that vegetable over rice plate is one reason why they have so many seniors over 100 years of age here. I believe Okinawa has the most folks 100 years old and over in Japan. Thanks and take care guys!
Thanks so much! Your videos are constantly getting me excited for my upcoming trip to Japan. We have a full itinerary and are dining / eating / visiting several wonderful places. I may have to stay an extra week however!! You've got me interested in so many places. I am day dreaming about some really good Ramen and those breakfast sandwiches....YES!!! I ♥️ SPAM! The Spam can with napkins was a cute idea. I like your ending message. Japan has done a wonderful job through this ordeal. The key is to stick together, have empathy for others, follow common sense, and never put yourself first. Its not political, it's not a conspiracy...it's a problem and we have the ability to make better or worse. Thanks again for an interesting, informative, intriguing and entertaining video.
@@shannonhight4339 ohh I don't know about that, they don't sell spam (both pork and turkey) in any of supermarkets in my place.. but thanks for the information!
None of your videos failed me. It always makes me drool with good food and good places. I dream of going to Japan someday. God bless you and your partner.
I am a 53yo mom to a 16yo and I always dream of being able financially and healthy enough to take her to the many places we would like to go. We live through you and your co-pilot, lol. God Bless y'all!
Oh yum! My boy loves Japanese food and we celebrated his 16th. Birthday at Cisco's in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. Such skill going into the food preparation and oh my goodness EVERYTHING was delicious! We really want to visit Japan to experience the culture and food. This awful pandemic obviously stops us all in our tracks, but we live vicariously through your videos, becoming hungrier and curiouser. Thank you.
Just let me say... my friend you have a good life. First your country is beautiful, second the food in every place where you go look so tasty. Greetings from a third world country.
👀🔥🔥🔥Spam musubi has always been a local favorite comfort food in Hawaii!!!!-Always an AWESOME video-Please STAY SAFE wherever you go!!!!-🌺Much ALOHA!!!!🤙🤙⚡️
I took a personal finance class in my senior year of high school, and our last project was to budget a theoretical vacation wherever we wanted for under $4000 (in 2016). I picked Naha, Okinawa for a week. I hope I actually can do that sometime. I didn’t know at the time I was gonna try to plan on living in Japan for a period of time, but I can’t work on that until Japan opens up to tourism again.
This was interesting , I really enjoy the little restaurants in the back streets and there history 40yrs is amazing and I can see why classic Okinawa food . Breakfast the bitter melon did it for me , I quite enjoy the bitterness if made correctly where I live Neri Ume yummy very nice way to start any day . 😋
Interesting . In Hawaii and US, those Pork Onigiri are called Spam Musubi. I guess Spam reached Okinawa w/ the US military. (That's how it became popular in Hawaii and in South Korea).
Any chance you could put the address or a location pin of the places you visit? I always try looking for them after the video. Some I have decided to visit on my trip to Japan next year. Thank you
Loving your vlogs so much!! They're relaxing, informative and inspire me to try new foods ☺️ I don't know if you can find it in Japan but I'd like to see you try turducken and get your opinion of it. Itadakimasu!!
I had turducken about four years ago here in the United States. It was so difficult to find I found it at a butcher that was from the UK. he had it specifically ordered it was so good. I should see if he still has his shop.
Thanks Bokksu for sponsoring such an amazing video! Everything looks sooooo delicious and really affordable! The rice with veggies and the sandwiches made me so hungry! Thanks for sharing, Shinichi-san! How are u doing? Please take care and don't work so much. Love u 💕
My sister, her husband, my husband and I were planning a trip to Japan for May 2020. We started a Viber group to discuss where to go so we'd post videos, websites or pictures of places we wanted to visit. Obviously that trip never pushed through :( But I occasionally post IWATFF videos there because they're short, informative, and have great visual :)
my mother always had SPAM in the cupboard in case there was nothing else 😂🤣 maybe it deserves an opportunity to show us that it can be better than that 😂🤣 maybe

The soba and champon look good. Love the fluffy eggs. The onigiri as usual looks delicious. Is the Okinawan miso in it? They put a little with the champuru plate at Okinawan Festival here. It is so good. The next time you to Okinawa, can try the inari sushi? It's lighter in color and not as sweet. They ordered it with a piece of fried chicken on the side. A Japanese TV show thought that was unusual. The cakes they thought were plain are the cakes we eat here. Every time they featured Okinawa, I'd end up saying, "What's so unusual about?" I guess much of our Japanese food here is Okinawan.

I would def try those spam 'sandwiches'.
I had something almost identical to this sandwich last night at a Christmas party. It was really tasty!

hi
Actually the Spam Musubi or "Pork Tamago Onigiri" as named in Okinawa was originated from Hawaii as a Hawaii Comfort Food not Okinawa.
Please Sharing for CV19 Restrictions???? I heard Japan is First County freed from CV19..Is this true???
I think Best Okinawa comfort food is taco rice and cheese, yakisoba, and yakitori.
I ❤Spam.
Jesus, that was tortuous to watch, god damn that looked good.
