    When Cloud deflects Sephiroth's attack on Aerith, you see the rainbow prism appear, meaning Cloud DOES indeed create a reality where Aerith lives. We're just following the world where she doesn't. It's just like when Zack choses to go to Shinra instead of Biggs and creates a world where he goes to Biggs instead.

      Agreed, In fact, I've compiled a list of evidences that seem to indicate not only Aerith's death being in doubt, but Cloud's visions may be more than just the side-effects of Mako:
      -The team goes through a portal in the first game.
      -Zack is alive in another dimension/timeline thanks to the Whispers, along with Biggs.
      -Marlene (who never saw Sephiroth) described who Sephiroth was to Zack and that Cloud needed to wake up to save Aerith. Does that indicate Zack needed to know that?
      -We have dueling Whispers.
      -Cloud has commented about knowing stuff he shouldn't know and having different versions of events compared with other people (lending to the idea that he is being given this information for some
      reason).
      -Tifa had some visions of events when she fell into the Mako (negating the idea that Mako is corrupting someone's memories).
      -Sephiroth seems to be trying to control the outcome by creating different dimensions/timelines, making it so that Aerith can't stop him in one dimension/timeline.
      -When Cloud deflects Sephiroth's attack, a rainbow pattern is shown. This has shown up every time Zack made a desision in his world, emphasizing a dimension/timeline has formed because of his desision.
      -Zack and Cloud from different dimensions/timelines merged into one to attempt to defeat Sephiroth.
      -The Whisperers brought Aerith back for one more fight against Sephiroth (bringing in the question of where they pulled her from).
      -Zack is still alive in, at least, one dimension/timeline with a comatose yet alive Aerith.

      @@renegade637 I agree with most of what you said. Just two different takes from my perspective.
      - Sephiroth isn't creating the new worlds or dimensions, he appears to only be able to jump between them and insert a certain level of influence and control over them to manipulate fate.
      - The Aerith that appears at the end to help Cloud fight I don't think is from another world or dimension, I think it's the deceased Aerith that emerges from the LifeStream to help him, then returns to the LifeStream after the battle is done. I think the Aerith that Zack is begging Cloud to save is the comatose Aerith from his initial timeline. Zach seems to have multiple timelines going on and is potentially even jumping between them.

      @@NexusNine Well, won't argue about Sephiroth. As for Aerith being dead, I suppose Aerith is deceased in the reality that Sephiroth managed to shift/leap into at the last second. But, then that leaves at least two potential Aeriths that may or may not have an effect on the third game: the Aerith from Zack's reality that Marlene seems to indicate will have some importance later on and the Aerith from the reality that Cloud spun off from the deflection. Although, I feel like there's some link between all the versions of Aerith. I'm not necessarily going into the Aerith from the original FF7 is communicating with the Aerith from Remake. It's more like her being a Cetra seems to be more significant this time around. She can talk to Cloud in his dreams or subconscious, she alludes to future knowledge that she has, she makes comments about how certain things are not supposed to be happening, and there's a continuing emphasis that she is the key to defeating Sephiroth. Seeing as how Zack and Cloud can see the tear in the sky after Aerith's death, I can't help but wonder if the creators intend for an even bigger role for Cloud, Zack, and Aerith vs Sephiroth in the third game.

And Zack being able to see the tear as well lends proof to the idea that not only is Cloud NOT seeing things (which was originally because of the Mako degradation and the original story idea that his mind was fracturing), he must understand the different realities after being shown them by Sephiroth and realizes the Aerith he talks to before leaving is the Aerith in the "deflection" reality. (Although, I find myself hard pressed to explain why "deflection" Aerith is being left behind so to speak.) In that case, it's going to be interesting to see how they plan on connecting all these realities back together for part 3.

      I second this. Even Sephiroth says she can take on the form of those people hate, love and fear. It would make sense. Especially if Sephiroth appeared to Rufus. Cloud saved her and it split the timeline. There's one where Aerith died and one where she is alive. Cloud can actively see both worlds together, which is why he sees Aerith alive. The others can only see her dead. Also why he can only see the rift in the sky, when the others can't

    • @garywood97
      @garywood97 9 месяцев назад +9

      Yep. There's some good supporting evidence for this too. If you go back and look at the moment where Sephiroth's sword sticks into the floor, and then it flashes to another shot where you see the pool of blood appear, the 2 shots of his sword are actually in DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. You can see based on the pattern on the floor. The sword moves like a few feet away and completely changes angle as well. To me that strongly suggests that what they were showing is 2 different outcomes. Not the same outcome with Cloud being delusional (because why would something like that change based on his confusion)

    • @thisismobius
      @thisismobius 9 месяцев назад +4

      @@garywood97 Not only that when Cloud walks up to Aerith laying on the floor after we "defeat" Seph, the rest of the party isn't visible in the POV of the "other timeline" that he created when he stopped Seph from stabbing Aerith. Since the party wasn't there to witness that event they only see Aerith dead while Cloud is experiencing two at the same time.
      It's kinda like the expressway of the Part 1 remake. If one of the party members stayed behind and didn't enter the portal to fight Seph and the arbiters of fate, they wouldn't be able to see any of the changes in that timeline. But since they all went in they see and experience everything together.

    I think a new timeline has been created in which Cloud could save Aerith. Because as you see, when Aerith lied down on Cloud's hands, The game constantly switched between two images. One relate to the OG timeline in which Aerith was bloody and Cloud Saying somethings just like the OG one: Like " Aerith can't laugh or become angry anymore" . Another image showed us that Cloud was crying and non-bloody Aerith lied on his hand and No one else in the party like Tifa, Barret,etc... could see it. And on that timeline we're seeing Aerith is alive and touching Cloud's face and open her Eyes. And then they defeated Sephiroth together in the last bossfight. Bro we saw Aerith thanked Cloud for saving her. And saphiroth said he underestimated Cloud. In the end of that bossfight when sephiroth defeated, you can see Sephiroth dropped on his knees and really failed to defeat Cloud and Aerith on that timeline. There's no sense of Aerith's spirit fight alongside Cloud Bro.
    and here's my fucking prediction for the part three tho. You see:
    End of part one: Zack survived in an alternative timeline.
    End of part two: Aerith survived in another alternative timeline.
    And in part three we'll see this Trio(Zack, Aerith, Cloud) fight with sephiroth. Because of a reason:
    Sephiroth wants to combine all timelines this time and then destroy them all together. So after we see combination of timelines, this Trio will fight with sephiroth and Sephiroth will kill Aerith and Zack. Because as you know: they had to die. Its their destiny. After that, Cloud will fight lonely with shirtless sephiroth and the rest will the same as the OG.
    .
    Sorry for my bad English.

    I don't think I've seen anyone mention that the holy materia is not glowing green after Aerith dies like in the OG, which indicated that the planet had accepted her prayers. Unless I'm color blind to whatever shade of green they're using here, or I'm misremembering the story. I interpreted Cloud seeing the sky split that they are in a doomed timeline due to that. But, the ending is nothing if not a bit confusing I suppose. Also, I interpreted the rainbow colors when Cloud deflects the blade as creating an alternate timeline, which explains why all the party members start the fight with a limit break ready, but Cloud doesn't. Cloud got to experience all of the emotions of succeeding in saving Aerith, but also was taken back to the OG timeline where that version of him failed. This ability to tap into those emotions is alluded to in Remake where he sheds a tear when he has that death premonition for Aerith.

    • @mercuriosity3133
      @mercuriosity3133 9 месяцев назад +1

      Cloud being able to see the rift in the sky has 1 of 2 meanings imo:
      1. The current timeline he's in (the main remake one) is doomed to fail as you said. At the end of remake when Sephiroth speaks to cloud at the edge of creation, he looks at the dying galaxy and says "our world will become a part of it" and "I won't let our world, nor you". Thinking about this again, Sephiroth wants to conquer all worlds, and so he seeks to defy destiny and "save" this world from its supposedly inevitable destruction with cloud's help. Obviously cloud refuses, but its clear that Sephiroth had the idea that this current world was doomed. Also, it makes sense as to why the whispers took Aerith's memories and the power of the white materia; this timeline was doomed from the start.
      2. The less likely possibility is that cloud is seeing other timelines. So the rift in the sky is from another timeline, not the current remake one. But the evidence points to option 1 being more likely.
      Lastly, I have no clue about Aerith in the final cutscene. I think the Aerith he is seeing a spirit ghost from the lifestream, or it could be the Aerith from the timeline that he saved... the line "It's like a second home" could refer to the other timeline, or the lifestream in the current timeline. I'm not sure what form/which Aerith cloud is seeing now that I've read so many comments. Or it could just be clouds broken mind mixing all of this together and he's just hallucinating, we'll find out in 3-4 years haha

    • @sindelio
      @sindelio 9 месяцев назад

      Point 2 is correct, also the rift seems to appear when a new world is created, not because it will die. It's a world that should not exist, but that doea not mean it will die soon necessarily. It's just that the worlds we see with a rift are doomed for one reason or another. Example: Aerith surviving dooms the world because remember, not only Holy needs to be cast to stop meteor, the lifestream needs to help too, and Aerith needs to be in the lifestream for it to happen

  • @DarthPingu07
    @DarthPingu07 9 месяцев назад +11

    Aerith dies in the main timeline. She's alive in at least 1.
    Cloud DOES save Aerith and creates a timeline. It's THIS Aerith he speaks to and sees eveywhere. They're seperated by timelines but her power over the lifestream let's her talk with Cloud. Watch her death closely. Aerith puts Cloud in a bubble where she talks to him and he asks her to wake up she does and smiles at him. The whole party thinks she's dead because she is in their timeline but Cloud knows when the world's merge she'll rejoin them.
    Don't forget, Cloud is the only 1 Aerith let's into destiny's crossroads outside the forgotten capital. In doing so ONLY Cloud can change her fate and see the results. The rest of the party see's her fate as destiny ordained like in OG. It's why Tifa see's them talking and then it glitches to a dead Aerith and blood. Cloud and Aerith's new timeline is overlapping with the party at the same time. Same as the end of remake when Zack walks past the party. Exact time, different timelines but at that point only Aerith could sense it because she's Cetra.
    So at the very end she promises to keep praying for Holy in the capital which she can't do if she's dead (she also has her ribbon and materia) and leaves Sephiroth to Cloud.
    This explanation in the video is so poor. It explains what the player sees, not what's actually happening.

    This video touches on it a little bit but I think it's moreso that Cloud has actually gone somehow even further into madness and delusion and is completely denying Aerith's death when it did actually happen. Also Sephiroth's exact line following this in that scene: "You'll never see the truth with such clouded eyes..."
    This is also why he is acting normal in the ending scenes whereas all the other members are grieving and also why he is seeing her where the others are not. Another interesting gameplay detail is that in the beginning of the Jenova Lifeclinger fight Cloud is the only party member without a full limit break gauge, implying that the others are in a heightened emotional state after witnessing Aerith's death whereas Cloud is not in this state unlike the original game (evidently in retrospect this limit break thing is something they wanted to do in the original game but didn't).
    They are really playing with fire here but I think the payoff could be immense in the climax of Cloud's character arc in the next game when he regains his true self and comes to realize that Aerith is in fact dead - if this is true I can see that this is when they would show the water burial scene, one of the most iconic scenes, that they have hidden here.

    Here's my theory. So I believe that FFVII remake/rebirth has its own timeline. After Aerith's death in the FFVII OG, she communicate with Aerith in the Zack's timeline. The reason Aerith gives the Holy Materia is to create new timeline where she is alive. So we have OG timeline, Zack Timeline, Rebirth timeline where Aerith dies (and Cloud become evil because of the black materia), and Rebirth timeline where Aerith alive (this is where Cloud meets Aerith in the dream).
    I believe the Zack scene in intermission ending takes place after Aerith meets Sephiroth in the church, which gives us answer that she might die or prisioned by sephiroth (since he does not bring his sword). The question now is where Part 3 could take place. My theory is that Zack might jump to Aerith survives timeline helping Cloud in evil Cloud's timeline, to ensure that the outcome will resemble the OG timeline. I believe that the outcome will align with the OG, considering what happens after playing Rebirth. They're try to present anew story while still retaining the core events of the OG.

    Septhiroth and aerith are from the original future. They both knew what was going on since the remake everyone were talking about this. Original septhiroth was defeated and went back in time played with reality to kill aerith for one. Aerith knew about this and it's her mission to stop him. The white materia and her losing her memories from the whispers are her losing her memories from her original future self, of the future and different realities.

I'm excited to see this super insane Cloud in the 3rd game.
    Btw, ithe line at the end "No promises at journey's end" is very much a confirmation that the Aerith Cloud keeps on seeing is a hallucination because they made promises at each other, then followed by that line. Nice touch, I say.

    It’s truly a tragedy how FF7 is so old, purist aren’t able to discuss in the internet.
    It’s not just the multiverse which fumbles the ending. But also that Cloud’s words of sadness were turned into Jenova madness without audio.
    The shock of Aerith’s sudden death in the original is improved by the reaction of Cloud.
    And also we need not forget the title of this game. “Rebirth”. Obviously the main timeline we follow needs to see Aerith gone otherwise they would have to go back to the drawing board instead of following the beats of FF7 original.
    However, after the parry we see the sparks of yellow that indicate a decision of splitting timelines.
    Because multiverse is dumb, it is now obvious that an Aerith is out there now. So that’s where my finger points when setting expectations for the next insane Kingdom Hearts ending of part 3.
    Since this is a formula. Every Re-sequel of this 3 part game will have an insane ending.
    And of course they had to. Each game is stand alone. So they need to start small, built up and end on a Sephiroth battle. Thankfully part 3 is the end so they don’t need to break their heads to shove Sephiroth in this time.

    • @thereaversden6847
      @thereaversden6847 9 месяцев назад +1

      I wouldn't go that far... I think due to the additions/changes, part 3's Sepiroth is gonna be something we haven't seen before. Sure there is going to be "Safer" Sephiroth, but OGs Bizzaro Sephiroth already made his appearance at the end of this one. As such, the spectical come the end of 3 will be brand new for everyone, along with his safer form that we all know.
      I'm willing to wait till the final part is out to cast complete judgement. Tech was limited back in the 90s so for all we know, this is stuff Kitase wanted in the OG but couldn't feasibly apply. He already said alot of the ideas in the remake trilogy were floated about a very long time ago during OGs production. Along with Nomuras influence, it's not surprising this is the end result.
      I'm no purist when it comes to FF7. I expected changes and additions from the start. But for what it's worth, which ultimately is piddles, they have stayed pretty true to the OG timeline. It really is the OG timeline with twists and turns, just as advertised.

      Multiple Worlds now. Sephiroth explains it after Aerith(2 or 3) gives him(Cloud) the white materia and pushes him into another world. Defying fate had stark consequences. Cloud also comments on being in multiple worlds while walking in the forest on the way to Aerith.
      But to be more direct, calculate the time it would take a wounded Zack carrying a comatose Cloud all the way to Midgar. Would take some time. By the time they reached Midgar the bombings along with defying fate events would have taken place.
      My question is how did the overlap takes place. Essentially, Zack survives first world has two Clouds. Remember, even Shinra said one more suspect was missing, one with a buster sword. • @ISoundMasterBlasterI
      @ISoundMasterBlasterI 9 месяцев назад +3

      This is silly. There literally ALREADY is a resolution lol. I dont understand why this ship war is so dense, it’s not “milking” a love triangle. It’s literally a part of the story and central to characters growth. Cloud and Aerith were starting to fall in love, it’s clear even more so with the ending of Rebirth that those feelings were true. Aerith was the only person to see through Cloud’s facade and naturally brought out the real him.
      Tifa was much more passive about Cloud’s mental and it isnt until she meets Aerith and Aerith’s death that Cloud completely breaks and Tifa steps up to the plate to put him back together through Aerith’s influence on all of them. To be more bold and forthcoming
      Love is complex, some people just fit for each other at specific times and life happens a things change. That’s the whole point. Cloud loved Aerith and he loves Tifa. Both couples end up together idk what more of an “answer” shippers want.

    • @mirandalawson2990
      @mirandalawson2990 9 месяцев назад

      @@ISoundMasterBlasterI I agree with you on some things. Aerith obviously has a profound effect on Tifa and Cloud, and it's made obvious that Cloud harbors feelings for both Tifa and Aerith. I agree with all that, although saying he and Aerith are in love is a massive stretch. It's more of a mutual interest in one another, and it basically ends when Aerith tells Cloud "I like you, but I don't LIKE you" at the end.
      I will say though, Tifa wasn't passive about Cloud's degradation at all. She clearly plays a huge role in supporting Cloud emotionally in Rebirth in a number of scenes. She just keeps certain things hidden bc she doesn't want to make things worse. She's also the one that brings out the real Cloud at moments, and permanently in the end.
      My real point is that, in the ending to the original game, Cloud and Tifa end up together, but the game isn't straightforward about it. I'd like Part 3 to be straightforward about the fates of all characters this time, for the sake of closure. That's all.

    • @ISoundMasterBlasterI
      @ISoundMasterBlasterI 9 месяцев назад

      @@mirandalawson2990 I mean how much more straightforward can you get? They live together and basically have an adopted kid together.
      Tifa in the original was super passive about Cloud’s mental. Speaking from original context. She really doesnt speak out until much much later when they enter the life stream together. Rebirth has it different, because she confides in Aerith and through that we can see he being more proactive about it.
      I do believe Cloud loves Aerith and vice versa it just never had the time to blossom into something. It’s pretty clear in the original and her new “like” speech at the end isnt ending it is confirming it. Marlene even tells Zack about her feelings towards him. And in Tifa’s date scene Cloud assumes Aerith still harbors feelings for Zack and Tifa looks at him and replies “I think it’s more complicated than that.” Which hints at her feelings towards him as complicated as their situation is.
      Anyway hope youre enjoying the game, the ship talk can be exhausting and super toxic and lessens the story making the relationships so black and white.

Coming into terms with this statement will be a huge shock to Cloud. But Aerith also says although the future is set into stone we can still change it. I think this a nice plot twist where Sephiroth is telling the truth but the main characters challenging fate.

    I really hope to see part 3 in 2 years, because they only have to reuse all the scenarios they developed in part 1 and part 2 and on top of that they already have a very polished combat system, they just have to add new attacks in synergy with the new characters like Vincent Valentine and Cid. Of course, they have to develop Vincent Valentine and Cid as playable characters. Disc 3 of OG Final Fantasy 7 is very short in the main story, there is not much content to be honest. Let's hope they don't make us wait that long, I bet it will be out in 2 years at most, there shouldn't be any major setbacks. What I would add is greater interaction between some characters that appeared in games like Dierge of Cerberus, such as the Underground group from Intermission, Crissis Core with Cissnei revealing to a Cloud who recovered his memories all the martyrdom that Zack suffered to protect him and also mention in some way the events of Before Crisis.

    • @alwaysloctis

      it's not the end yet! and Aerith death is a very tricky moment since
      1) we obviously see the scene from OG, as we get to see Cloud saying something but we can't hear what - and I bet it's his line from OG "Aerith will never laugh again";
      2) Sephiroth described to Cloud pretty clearly how the new worlds are born and that's what we see during Aerith's "death": glowing appearing (just like when Zack was choosing who to save and invented another timeline) and the breach in the sky (Seph said new world are fragile and we know from C&A date in Ch.14 that people realize their world is dying by the same breach in the sky).
      Cloud isn't hallucinating in the end, bc others don't see not only A, but also the breach, unlike Cloud who's kinda stuck in two(if not more) worlds at the same time.
      or we can listen to Sephiroth's "I must admit I underestimated you" line and C&A confidence of what they're doing to suggest they are on up to something to trick Sepbiroth into thinking he's winning again.
      so just wait and see, it'll be fine❤ there's no single point to return to OG since the whole purpose of Remake is to set things right.

    @maymunadahir3689 9 месяцев назад +2

    i think i understand much better after intensively researching this over-compilcated ending
    Let me share my theory of this crazy ending!
    there must be 3 DIFFERENT timelines with 4 small branches we know so far. So the A timeline is the main reality and where aerith is dead as cloud failed to stop sephorith. however we see a short clip of the long sword hits through the floor with no blood. I believe that implies that cloud actually did save aerith in different timeline which could be in "C" where zack is not in...for now
    in the A(beagle dog) and C or D? timeline, cloud's team arrives so late after the wall of whispers vanished.
    This is the most important moment, i believe so. why?
    when in A, the team is running toward the altar and seeing aerith dying next to cloud. (tragic ending)
    while in C, they could be running toward the altar and seeing aerith, as usual, is greetin them with iconic smile besides cloud. (happy ending)
    and biggs should be in the same timeline as them
    what about B? its where zack is alive and take caring of cloud, marlene, aertith, elymra and biggs.
    Zack created three small branches of the B (terrier dog). when he had to make a decision whichever does he must save first:
    --- B,1(still terrier branch) go to shinra's HQ in attempt to save cloud
    ---B,2 (pug branch) stop biggs from bombing the reactor
    ---B,3 and/or 4? (shiba inu? spritz branch) zach goes to the church in sector 5 after failing to make a decision . Also i think=thats where the dream date is taken in too? because we watched how cloud is pushed back into light void and glancing sephorith enters the church after sending zack into a dark void which later will be fighting along with cloud briefly. what do u think?
    lastly, sephorith final boss appeared in three different universe:
    A- cloud's team except cloud. after winning the battle, the scene returns to the same scene where the team and cloud run toward the altar and see lifeless aerith lying on the cold floor. In cloud's perspective, he can see the white whisper around aerith. it shows they are in the A universe.

    B- Zack in the ruined church and later was sent to another universe by aerith's white whisper. Yes, seems they are under the control of her power
    ( will reveal his location in part 3)
    C-2- Cloud and Aerith----i really think she is alive. now imagine yourself, after winning the battle against Sephroith monster. Cloud and aerith returns to the altar and greets the team members with smile. see the connection?
    conclusively,
    if we see the beagle dog and white whispers, that means we are likely in the main reality.
    if we see black whispers and different stamp dogs, that means we are likely in alternative realites with no aerith's involvement.
    What do i mean by aerith's involvement?
    white whispers sometimes show up when;
    --- it tries to keep the original tracks in the main universe such as when barret was stabbed by sephroith.
    ( square enix might be forgetting to change the color of the white whisper)
    ----it appears as Aerith joins cloud's battle against sephroith
    -- it appears when zack falls down in the void in ruined church....under the control of aerith's power, i believe so.
    what do you think about my theory?!

    The Rufus scene is easy to explain: the robed guys all have Jenova cells and thus are linked to Sephiroth. The Jenova virus can read other's minds and change the host's appearance to be "those we fear, those we love". This robed figure transformed into Glenn because Glenn was someone that Rufus feared or knew well, and this was used by Sephiroth (who can control the robed figures) to distract Rufus from finding Sephiroth and the Promised land (AKA the northern crater). By crippling Shinra with war, they won't have the time nor might to oppose sephiroth's plans, which is line with what sephiroth has been shown to do throughout this entire game, in multiple timelines too.

    A fair criticism, it was a brilliant routine but they did not stick the landing. When I'm feeling more upset over the fate of a throwaway background character like Roche instead of a main character like Aerith, some balls definitely got dropped. If there were two things from this story that SE HAD to do right it was the Aerith death scene and the scene where Tifa rebuilds Cloud's mind in the lifestream. This isn't filling me with faith that they'll execute the second one any better. But my biggest gripe by far with this game was having to look at Dio's "moose knuckle" for like 40 minutes, but apparently cleavage and jiggles are "problematic"? I really detest two faced hypocrites. My second gripe was Cloud getting benched from the party. I'm going to be getting two or three chapters of that in the last installment of the game, so I didn't need him riding the pine in this one. Those two gripes were more nuisance than game killing. Overall a very great game though, far better than Remake. I only played remake once each on normal and hard and played intermission only once on normal. I beat FF7OG once a year, because it's replay value is through the roof. Remake had no replay value, but I can see myself replaying this title quite a few more times.

    This ending left me feeling emotionally empty and I'm finding it hard to pinpoint why.
    Up until the point Cloud chases after Aerith then gives the black materia to Sepiroth I'd loved everything the game had to offer (a few annoying side quests aside 😅). I'd spent 100hrs laughing, crying, cheering , screaming & shouting and had expressed more bursts of raw emotion than any other game I've played before.
    But after Cloud gives away the black materia and he and Aerith fall from the tree branch and wake up in that different world/timeline something just didnt click with me.
    From that point until the credits rolled i didn't say a word or express any emotion. Story beats that should have tugged at my emotions like they had earlier in the game just didn't do anything for me.
    Aerith being saved/dying. Biggs dying. Multiple Zacks dying(?) after the different choices he made. One Zack surving and fighting with Cloud. The Jenova battle. Aerith world/timeline number 3 (or maybe number
    4) appearing of out the void to fight with Cloud. The crew crying over Aeriths body. Tifa almost in the fetal position as she sat on the hill depressed over Aerith dying. Aeriths goodbye (for now). All of these should have left me an emotional wreck but none of it did.
    I'm not sure if its multiverse fatigue from the Marvel/DC universe that's done it to me or if its just something I've never really enjoyed.
    I find it hard to become emotionally invested anymore when you can just pluck a dead character from timline "Omega Alpha 777AB.2" and viola nobody needs to be sad anymore because nobody is every really dead. Love triangle you say? Worried you'll lose fans if you make a narrative decision one way or the other? Easy, just have one couple in one universe and the other in a different one. Everybody's happy.
    It might also have been because so much was happening on screen at once and it jumped around a lot that it never really gave me time to emotionally process what had just happened because I was having to concentrate so hard on wjst wws going on at any given moment.

Then Square Enix can put out another FF7 game after the third game and call it "FF7 Reality" or something like that. Of course, I am sure that would upset some fans if that happened but think it would be pretty funny to find out we all just played a dream of Clouds. I kind of like the Arbitors of fate guiding the events towards the cannon of the original games. But my only real complaint is all this multiverse stuff and multiple timelines just muddles an already complete story of the original, Aeriths death in this version is greatly cheapened compared to the original even though it results in her death in the main timeline, the scene itself compared to the original is confusing and lacks the emotional gut punch, they also didn't follow through on maybe my favorite moment from the scene, where Jenova life shows up and instead of boss music, it just continues to play Aeriths theme, letting the player really wallow in the realization that Aerith was gone. I'm not saying this version was bad, but it just can't stack up to the original.

      Probably in Rebirth the black whispers are meant to hinder good acts, and white whispers to aid good acts.
      Apparently the gray whispers in Remake to "keep fate in check" weren't purposeful enough. If only the writers had the mental discipline to not stray away from the storyline, there won't be a need for whispers to intervene each time the story takes a pointless turn of events. E.g. If Sephiroth didn't appear at Shinra HQ to stab Barret, the whispers needn't intervene to revive Barret.
      At this point the writers are so lost in their obsession to invoke a different timeline only to force Aerith, Zack and Sephiroth to be front and center of everything. The whispers have become so convoluted and redundant, just a convenient quick fix whenever the writer gets stuck with their new plots.
      I wouldn't be surprised if in part 3 Square Enix decides to introduce green whispers to serve the will of the lifestream and have have them float all over the weapons fights. Or red whispers to serve the will of Jenova and have them float all over the northern crater. Or hell, Cloud may even get his own golden whispers as he wields them to create his own timeline at the edge of creation or something, and the golden whispers help to bring back Aerith and Zack into his reality. After all Square has already gone so far down the slippery slope of lazy writing.

    I feel like there are so many people in the comments watching this video to help them decide whether or not they like the game. Skipping to the end just to see if it's good makes no sense to me 😂
