Being able to see the individual panels is a great way to see that a panel is having a problem and needs attention. I take a look at mine every couple of months to look for an outlier. Need cleaning, new shadow needs trimming, etc.

@@ElectricTechAdventures Thank you for the fast response. Yes, the 14.30, that layout, however I think these panels layout should be drawing on a picture of your roof layout. This way you get to know exactly where the locations of these panels. In my case, I have a single store house, 19 panels of LG 435W NeonR are distribute throughout my roof planes. I think the layout roof map should draw around each panels sections. The roof layout that is in your design plan layout is what I referred to. Thank you. Great Video!
When you showed the owners interface, it appears as though you were just looking via their public site, and not through a login portal. My login shows dashboard, layout, and admin.
In the Admin area under the Site Access Tab then Users tab you can create a new user, and one of the options is "Role" and there are three options there. Full Access, Dashboard & Layout, and Dashboard. I'm guessing you have Full Access because you have Dashboard, Layout, and Admin. Do you also have the Charts, Reports and Alerts icons in the top navigation? I'm guessing there's still a difference between "Full Access" and a full admin, but I'm not sure. In my video I was comparing the logins between mine and one of my neighbors portals. We were both definitely logged in, neither of them were public sites. I'm guessing my neighbor's installers only gave them the Dashboard and Layout Role rather than the Full Access role.
Since your the system installer Did you also install the monitoring equipment on the solaredge inverter? Seems like you need a wifi antenna into inverter and receiver in the house. What did you use?
I used an ethernet cable that hard wires the connection to the RJ45 port inside the inverter. I recommend contacting SolarEdge to find out what it would take to install their Wifi antenna if you can't hard wire it.

I'm not sure, but I think you're referring to the updated Sites interface which for me only lists my one site since it's the only one I have access to, then when I click into my site the Dashboard has been unchanged all 6 years that I've used it. Only Admins see the Sites interface which is I think what you're referring to.

I went into the Admin area to the Site Access tab and clicked add user and there's a drop down menu named Access that has "Full Access", "Dashboard & Layout", and "Dashboard" listed. That may come into play here. Also the User Role might be a factor whether they're a Site User or Site Owner. If these settings don't show the new dashboard then I recommend contacting SolarEdge support because I have no inside insights.
I installed the solar panels myself so I am the company. If you had a company install your system then you would need to go to solar edge directly with your inverter serial number and whatnot and then get it set up under your own account I imagine.
You'll need to contact the admin of your account (probably whoever installed it) and ask them to add the layout tab to your access. See 12:54 in this video I touch on that part briefly.
Assuming they installed a SolarEdge inverter then it's technologically possible. Keep in mind your inverter needs to be connected to the internet and the "free" cellular connection only lasts for I think 5 years. In my case I installed an ethernet cable directly to the inverter so it's never used cellular or wifi and is still working fine for free with that hard wired internet connection to it. I have some neighbors who have lost their online reporting functionality because their solar installer installed the inverter with the cellular antenna which stopped working at 5 years because they didn't want to pay for it. I recommend asking your solar installer, or perhaps lookup the details of your inverter and call SolarEdge directly to see what your options are.
I just purchased a rooftop system and am waiting for Sunrun to activate it. Will I get admin access to the Solar edge portal for my installation? They didn’t mention anything about monitoring but it seems like the owner should be able to monitor what they paid for.
Typically your installer should give you the owner monitoring portal access. If they didn't register your system maybe you can call your inverter manufacturer and register it yourself (giving then the serial number or whatever ID they need) then in that case you'd be the administrator.
@Jim Laymon I just had Sunrun installed my system Dec 2022 (I paid for in full - not a lease). They had no idea how to add a user with full access rights, but after going back-and-forth with Solaredge, Sunrun should NOW know how to give user more access rights. If you haven't already, try calling Sunrun again. I can even give you direct contact to the Sunrun representative that I worked with to get my full access. pm me. I don't know what their policy if you lease though.

@@cruizgonzalez5004 "it depends" very much applies to that question. There are many variables that effect solar output. My array is 9.98 kW, south facing with zero shading at any time of day. The best day of output I've seen was in May at 70 kWh in one fully sunny day. The worst fully sunny day of production was 44.4 kWh in one day. Does that help?

@@cruizgonzalez5004 Like I said before I can't know what you "should" be getting as there's too many variables I don't know like the angle of your panels, orientation to sun, shade etc... The best I can do is compare your numbers to mine to give you a point of reference. My array is quite ideal as far as sun exposure etc... so don't expect to match mine necessarily. My best day my solar produced 7.01 Wh per Watt of solar array, yours produced 5.66 Wh per Watt of panels. My worst day produced 4.44 Wh and yours 4.30 Wh per Watt. Since our max performance is so different compared to our least performant day I suspect that perhaps your roof and thus panels are on a steeper angle which means they're more ideally angled to get the winter sun when it's lower in the sky. That's totally a guess. It could also be that your max performance isn't as good because it's so much hotter where you are since temperature effects panel performance. In short I don't think your performance is way less than it should be based on these numbers. A 4.38 kW system isn't very large so you may just need more panels if it's not producing as much electricity as you need. You may consider contacting your solar installer (if you hired someone else to do it) to get some insight from them as to typical performance in your area and whether yours is performing within the expected range or not.
I don't understand your question regarding a SolarEdge account vs paying as they're not related in my mind, unless you're referring to owning the inverter? I installed my own solar system using the SolarEdge inverter and when setting it up on the SolarEdge monitoring network I created my own account and that didn't cost anything in addition to purchasing the inverter in the first place. The way the system is setup they expect a solar installation company to have an admin account with all their installations under their account and they may or may not give the homeowner view access. In my case I'm the installer and the home owner and I have admin access to my installation.
I don't know if you can if you weren't the original installer who setup the account as I did. Perhaps your installer would allow you to move the inverter over to your own account that you own? Or perhaps SolarEdge support could. I have no idea.

If you lease your equipment, then having access (full with api, etc) will depend on the kindness of your installer.

That's called the "Layout" and in the admin area when your account was setup there are three options under the "Access" drop down menu. 1. Full access 2. Dashboard & Layout 3. Dashboard. I'm guessing you were only given the dashboard. You'll need to talk to your solar installer who setup your account and have them change your permissions to "Dashboard & Layout" or if it was me I'd want full access.
I just had a new Solar Edge / Sunpower panels system installed a few days ago. I have very basic access to data - i.e. I can only see how much energy I am producing but I cannot see how much of this I consume and how much I am feeding back into the grid. What should I do to have the higher access to data on my system ? Can you help with advice ?
The Solaredge inverter only knows what the solar is producing. The product that I've considered buying to be able to see the energy production vs consumption is the Sense Energy Monitor with the additional solar clamps which is just for this purpose. I'm sure there's other products out there in the world that can do this too. Look into the Sense device though and I think that'll cover your needs.

Sorry maybe a dumb question, but is this the standard interface with solaredge genesis? As to me it's showing per panel monitoring, which I thought was a feature only on the SolarEdge Energy Hub?

Mine is from 2017 and I think this distinction didn't exist back then. If mine is one of them then I'd guess it's the Genesis type. My model number is SE7600A-US and the user manual PDF that I downloaded back in 2017 makes no mention of Genesis.
My Solaredge inverter is technical nice, but the lack of admin rights for me as owner is disappointing. They simply do not give my account the appropriate admin rights, even I am the owner and have paid for it. I can do not many things myself without paying a company. Some may like it, I do not. My next inverter will from another brand.
Perhaps you can contact SolarEdge customer support and move your inverter to your own account where you're the admin. I DIY installed my system and I had no problem setting up my inverter on my own account. Meaning they didn't require that I be a professional installer.
I had the same problem and used the support option in the app to request admin access, they gave it to me so now I see all the admin icons and functionality shown in this video. By far the most useful is the ability to download data in csv format so that you can inspect and process it yourself.
Solaredge monitoring is the number one reason to not buy solaredge. You are almost wholly reliant on Solaredge and their servers in order to monitor your system. So when the grid is down, so likely too is your internet and monitoring. If the servers are down....no monitoring....which is more frequent than you would like. You can still use siteapp and go physically to the inverters to check their status, but what a hassle. I will never get a system again where I'm forced to rely on the provider to monitor. I should be able to browse directly to the inverter(s) and see status and history.
I have been monitoring my system since August of 2017 checking their app or website multiple times per day all of those years and rarely has their server not worked. I can't think of an instance right now, but it has probably happened. I'm all for self-reliance and I also would prefer to be able to browse directly to the inverter. What alternative do you recommend?
I agree, in the 6 years that I have been using it there has been minimal changes. The minimal change I speak of is mostly in the last month or two there have been some updates to the interface and reporting but not really the parts that I use regularly.

Is there a sensor to give you a reading of how much power is fed back into the grid?
No, the SolarEdge inverter doesn't come with such a sensor. There are third party devices that can do that though.

I am not sure as I only have one inverter myself. You'll need to call customer support probably.

Yes, My version (V2.20.1.2200102) of the my SolaEdge app does not have the tab.@@ElectricTechAdventures

They simply do not give my account the appropriate admin rights, even I am the owner and have paid for it. I can do not many things myself without paying a company. Some may like it, I do not. My next inverter will from another brand.
Perhaps you can contact SolarEdge customer support and move your inverter to your own account where you're the admin. I DIY installed my system and I had no problem setting up my inverter on my own account. Meaning they didn't require that I be a professional installer.
I had the same problem and used the support option in the app to request admin access, they gave it to me so now I see all the admin icons and functionality shown in this video. By far the most useful is the ability to download data in csv format so that you can inspect and process it yourself.

Solaredge monitoring is the number one reason to not buy solaredge. You are almost wholly reliant on Solaredge and their servers in order to monitor your system. So when the grid is down, so likely too is your internet and monitoring. If the servers are down....no monitoring....which is more frequent than you would like. You can still use siteapp and go physically to the inverters to check their status, but what a hassle. I will never get a system again where I'm forced to rely on the provider to monitor. I should be able to browse directly to the inverter(s) and see status and history.
I have been monitoring my system since August of 2017 checking their app or website multiple times per day all of those years and rarely has their server not worked. I can't think of an instance right now, but it has probably happened. I'm all for self-reliance and I also would prefer to be able to browse directly to the inverter. What alternative do you recommend?
I have been using SE for more than a decade. Their monitoring tool has not really evolved. Its real basic
I agree, in the 6 years that I have been using it there has been minimal changes. The minimal change I speak of is mostly in the last month or two there have been some updates to the interface and reporting but not really the parts that I use regularly.
