This was a great video! I live farther south in Missouri and the stories of the James boys abound. Thanks for showing us the houses and both the original grave by his moms house and his current resting place with his wife in the town cemetery.
My great grandfather (Alex Brody)met Jesse when he was a boy. Jesse and a fiend spent the night in my great great grandfathers (Hugh Brody) barn in Iowa or Ohio. The next day Jesse asked my GG grandfather if he knew someone who was hard up and needed financial help. My GG grandfather told him of a old woman who was going to lose her farm. Jesse gave gold to the woman and told her to have the bank come out and take the gold and sign the deed to her. After the banker collected the gold, Jesse robbed him on his way back to town.
Ron, we've been to this place twice. The first time was 1985 and you were able to actually go into the house and all kinds of artifacts were right there and you could touch them. It was fantastic. The second time we went was 1995, and by then, they had built the visitor center and museum. You could still go into the house, but by then everything was behind protection. Still very much worth visiting.
InI love historical Western memorabilia. Thanks for going to the museum! Jesse James is so interesting. I bet the woman on the property could sit hours and tell us great stories she heard through the years. Rest In Peace Jesse James!
Glad you went in the museum. It was great getting to see it

My friend was born in 1914. Her father was from Missouri, and he used to tell her about Jesse James coming to their farm when he was about five or six years old. My friend's family gave Jesse and his men some food, and while they were chatting before they rode away, Jesse leaned down and handed him an apple. That made a real impression on the little boy.
My late father in laws family had a farm that either boarded or was very close to the James farm. He liked to say that he knew frank but he would only had been an infant. His stories came from his dad and grandfather, his dad being around the same age as the James boys
