    I use to have a CD from Fulsom but I can’t remember much about it. I would not have picked that up as the title does not have a blues feel. Thank you nephew for keeping the cold weather up by you. We had record warm temps last week.

      Hi Unk. I kind of misspoke when I said 'Chicago blues', more of a west coast blues feel with Lowell Fulsom. Either way, it's excellent. By the way, I have bad news for you: the cold and snow is headed your way. Sorry, but you know I like to share. Have a great week. Cheers!

      Hi Tony. Thanks a lot. A nice little score after a couple of weeks of cold and snow. I guess I sent the winter weather your way... sorry about that. Bundle up. Cheers!

    Nice pickups for sure. That James Cotton was RSD last April. Nice find. I don’t have any Memphis Minnie albums, just a couple tracks on some comps. That Lowell Fulsom looks like a winner too. Been a mild winter here in Maine. Snow totals way down from average and warmish too. Stay well my friend and keep ‘em spinning.

      Hi Jonathan. I thought the James Cotton had passed me by and I missed out, so a nice surprise. I hardly ever see Memphis Minnie stuff, had to grab it. Warmed up a bit now, the Chinook winds are a nice break from the sub-zero stuff. Thanks bud. Cheers!

    Hey Chris. It is fairly mild here with no snow. Weird country. Great vinyl finds. This Is The Blues looks very nice. I didn't know that Muddy Waters album was also available as a single. I never see Memphis Minnie in the wild. Stay warm ny friend.

      Hey Jamie. Finally warmed up here a few days ago... was rough going for awhile. The Muddy LP single version was an OG I picked up about 20 yrs ago... didn't realize it was also a 2 LP. Glad I found it. Memphis Minnie is rare as hen's teeth out here so this was pretty special. Have a great week bud. Cheers!

    The 2LP Muddy comp is very good. It is one of my most played Blues albums back in the 80’s.

      Glad I finally have a copy. When I bought the 1 LP version back in the day, I had no idea it was a double LP. Thanks Rich. Cheers!

    Morning Chris, and happy new year. Nice to know it's not just me that's buying records he already has.🤣 I had a marvellous Muddy Waters good will find the other day, will be showing it soon hopefully. Hope it warms up for you there. Cheers, James

      Hi James. Happy New Year. Over the years I've purchased 'a few' duplicates. LOL! The thing is, I have about 1,100 blues records (plus another 300+ of other genres), and I go off memory... no lists on any apps, etc. I guess that's bound to get a few doubles in the collection. LOL! Thanks James. Cheers!

    Interesting pickups Chris. Memphis Minnie got her writing credits on 'When The Levee Breaks' which is on Led Zeppelin's fourth album. ruclips.net/video/oz9TTTt3joY/видео.html The Story Of the Blues' is a very good comp. Those Blind Willie tracks are the best. Another song that Zeppelin did/borrowed was 'It's Nobody's Fault But Mine' that Blind Willie wrote. The blues will continue to inspire young players for years to come. Really dug the selections that you picked up Chris. Getting colder here too. We have our first big snowstorm coming tomorrow. I think 8 to 12" in the Boston area. Only 37 days until spring. Can't wait~

      Hi Rob. Yeah, that original 'When the Levee Breaks' is excellent. Warmed up a bit here now, I guess we traded weather for a bit, eh? Stay warm out there. Thanks a lot. Cheers!

    Hey, Chris! Glad to hear that your part of Canada is starting to warm up. That Memphis Minnie record sounds interesting. I was wondering if that version of Lowell Fulton 's song Let's Go Get ..., is the same song as the Ray Charles version...? Anyway, I'm Glad that you seem to be doing well 😊, and great video 📹 👍!

    • @BluesGuyVinyl
      @BluesGuyVinyl  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yep, you got it. The same song... almost the same tempo too. Very nice guitar in it by Lowell. Excellent guitars by Minnie on her record too. Thanks and have a great week. Cheers!

    I'm down with structural integrity. Congratulations on upgrading Muddy to the entire compilation. James Cotton record looks nice but why didn't they make it the same color as the album jacket? I think you have the same question. lol Folsom or Folson? lol An error that was never corrected, leading to discogs heartache later. It'll be spring before you know it BluesGuy!

      Thanks Randy. When I bought the single version Muddy 20+ years ago, no idea it was also a double LP... glad I finally found one in the wild. The James Cotton color scheme thing is funny to me... it's like they couldn't be bothered. LOL! the whole Fulson/Fulsom thing is a nightmare. Have a good one. Cheers!

    Memphis Minnie was also married to Casey Bill Weldon, wasn't she? Bob Dylan is a serial ripper offer of Minnies songs!

    • @BluesGuyVinyl
      @BluesGuyVinyl  9 месяцев назад

      Hi Quince. Yes, I think Casey Bill was her first husband and Joe was her second husband. I think a lot of artists have ripped off Minnie over the years. Thanks. Cheers!

      @@BluesGuyVinyl What's really amazing is the Casey Bill then married Geeshie Wiley - it goes without saying, there are no wedding photos 🙂
