  • Thousands of cards have been printed for the Pokémon TCG legal for Gym Leader Challenge, split between over 50 set expansions. While most sets have a couple of decent cards, some sets are absolutely game changing. I wanted to know, what are the top 10 GLC sets ever printed?
I did not rank any of the Scarlet and Violet era sets because their usage stats cannot be represented fairly given how recently they came out, so this will only include sets up to the end of the Sword & Shield era.
Gym Leader Challenge, or GLC, is a Pokémon format that is singleton, monotype, non-Rule Box format using the Expanded card pool. A list of the rules can be found at gymleaderchall....

How do you not have more subs? I don't even play GLC and I still find these videos super interesting.

Recently got back into Pokemon TCG, haven't played in about 65 years, but the current state of the game with V and V Max just isn't acceptable. Gym Leader Challenge has made this game fun again.

The past couple of videos, I’ve been exploring different kinds of videos. I’ll make more videos on specific deck lists soon, similar to my videos on Colorless Fire and Invulnerable Psychic. The next one planned is a Dragon type list.

Would BKT not make the list? It brought Abyssal Hand Octillery, Premonition Gallade, Stand In Zoroark and most notably, a huge amount of playable trainers: Brigette, Float Stone, Heavy Ball, Parallel City, Prof's Letter, Super Rod and Town Map

Something I forgot to make clear during the video is that I counted a card only toward the first set it appeared in. It helps simplify things a little; think of this as ranking the “newness” of each set. Super Rod was first printed in Noble Victories, Professor’s Letter was printed in XY base set, and Float Stone was printed in Plasma Freeze. If reprints were counted though, BKT would definitely make the list.
