Karla María Raudales Yeah, but Ali and Emily aren’t living together on The Perfectionists. Ali moves across the country in order to work as a TA for a while and also study for her Masters degree. So if Shay decides to never guest star, they have covered their bases for why we never see her on screen.

Me still annoyed they cancelled this; this was an excellent spin-off, much better than Ravenswood. How could they cancel it after THAT ending? It's just baffling to me.

This was such a good show but they didn't advertise it enough or put it on a streaming platform so more people would have been able to see it! I was so sad when they cancelled it especially after leaving it on a cliff hanger; now we'll never know what happened! They could have at least added one more episode to conclude things!

this show definitely deserves more! it's sooo good! the cast and characters have great chemistry, they have huge plots especially at the finale a very huge cliffhanger that's why it deserves a season 2 or more, actings are great, it really is a shame it ended so early and with a big cliffhanger. there wasn't a closure which irritates me so much. and now it may be impossoble to continue this because most of the cast might have moved on or busy now, eli is starring on the reboot of gg which would be difficult for him to be on two shows, not only that, there's a pll reboot that is going on which would now be the main focus for the pll universe. ugh, i wish this was given a chance because it really is a good show.
I love that Ali and Mona are back for this! Also super excited to see Sofia Carson in a more serious role, even though I love Descendants, I also love to see actors outside their comfort zones and to see if they have what it takes to make the different genre as equally believable as their previous one they were in.

She already played a more serious role in Tini: The Movie and in the series Famous In Love (Marlene was also the showrunner and her character was very similar to Ava) so she will be great

I wouldn't say better, but it definitely feels more focused if that makes sense. PLL was famous for it's off the wall plot twists and red herrings. This seems like a more straight forward murder mystery

I think the reason why this was cancelled is because everyone invested themselves in Alison's friends. and not directly her. Because they never made Alison and Mona's characters develop pass Rosewood writers tried to assume that everyone will automatically be interested in a new adventure that Alison faced. Alison was labelled the centre of attention in the first series BECAUSE her friends had good backstories. Alison's students have common backstories that isn't any different than regular university students..Ravenswood was even a thing but because like it was Caleb nobody let go of the fact he's connected to Hanna. The franchise would have never worked out if I wasn't for Alison's friends. They are dragging Alison's character too much to the point she can't grow up. Mona and Alison can't magically be friends because their whole encounter is toxic. It shows that Mona never truly cared about Hanna and was just in her life to mimic what she wants with Alison. Alison never valued her friends properly which is why there's no reason for her character to be back in this remake. The new main characters have so much potential but this series would have been better without Alison and Mona

I know I'm late to the party with this question, but it's been on my mind for a while. I only watched the first two episodes of The Perfectionists (wasn't really getting into it) I did watch all of PLL and I enjoyed it, even if those last few seasons weren't great. At the very end of PLL, we see a character named Addison and the liars 2.0 introduced and at the very last scene of the show, we learn that Addison has gone missing just like Alison did. I thought that, The Perfectionists was going to be about the new liars and Addison, but it's not..... why did they set up characters to never use? Was it just to similar too PLL plot. Now maybe the perfectionists ties back into this storyline, like I said, I stopped watching after episode 2, but I'm confused of why they felt the need to set characters up to possibly never use them. Sorry for the long comment, it's just been on my mind a lot. If everyone has any ideas or reasons behind this, I would love to hear them.
